Haha! I admire your optimism! Yeah I live not too far from him actually. I know several manga artists personally, some of which are top names in the industry, and none of them seem to know what he's up to. He's a total recluse and the only way he can be reached is via Kadokawa or through a personal contact of his. I know several people who know him but not enough to call him a close friend or anything. He wants to stay hard to reach for a reason and I respect that. He knows his work ethic sucks which is probably why he doesn't want people like me asking him questions like "What exactly do you do all week?" on a regular basis. Any other manga artist on the other hand i would have no trouble tracking down and talking to I'm sure. Takaya just isn't on the radar I'm afraid matey.

Haha! Sorry Matt, yeah that was kinda my "Joke". We were told it was gonna come in March and it didn't. I bought the magazine, took it home and realized i'd been duped (again). That said, I have a hunch they will resume the manga this month. No reason at all of course for thinking that but it's just a feeling I have....

I hope he ends it soon. I don't think I can stomach another 6 ten page chapters and then another year off. This is beyond painful now. What's even worse is that I'm struggling to care anymore. I wonder how many fans have lost interest and just walked away at this point? Anyway, don't worry guys. There'll be a new chapter at the end of this month.

Don't worry, he's taking a well earned rest from that hectic 10 page a month schedule he was on. I'm sure he's keeping himself busy by supervising some new plastic figure release or something. He hasn't forgotten. He said in that interview in the last volume that he "really must be getting a move on with tying up everything" so I doubt he'll do anything silly like take an entire year off. .....oh.

I reckon there will be a 10 page chapter coming in March. (You heard it here first! Haha)

That's kinda another thing that bugs me. In the age of Facebook, Twitter, etc mangaka these days are very easily able to, and do, communicate with their fans on a regular basis. But this guy doesn't even have a website! Don't get me wrong, it's kinda endearing in some ways but with his infinitely patient fanbase being kept in the dark coupled with his appalling work ethic when it comes to drawing the manga that made him successful, he really needs to at least get his ass into the 21st century and give his fans somewhere where people can at least a simple message from him like "Thanks as always for the incredible support, Guyver will be back in a short while, thanks for hanging in there". It's not asking a lot and he of all people should understand the social etiquette required of a man in his position. This isn't the reclusive 80s anymore. Manga artists know that. He does too but he's being very stubborn about it. Btw, just to clarify, I LOVE his work. Rarely do I dig on his work. It's just his professionalism that bothers me before anybody jumps on me and calls me an entitled, whiny git! Hahaha

I know this will make me sound like a whinging old man but I really wished they would stop making these damn figures. They have all of eternity to make these, the mangaka on the other hand could die at any moment from bad health/ sudden earthquake etc. I'm not over exaggerating here, just being real. He needs to focus on the manga, like he said in that interview, and stop using looking over lumps of plastic as an excuse. I keep seeing some AMAZING fan stuff on the facebook fan page and every time my heart just sinks. He has incredible fans but my word does he take the piss out of them with these 8 month (and counting) hiatuses. It's really not cool and I simply refuse to believe he's "busy" with making the figures. he has 10 pages to draw a month that's it. If Yudetamago can release 20 pages a week AND pump out action figures on a monthly basis, what excuse does he have? Zero, that's what. Rant over. Have a bloody lovely xmas btw you awesome bastards!

Due to the system adopted on this site, pretty much nobody reads it here for free. It's only available to people who buy the books. Also, I buy Shonen Ace every month it comes out and I've been burned 3 times too many now by the "Guyver will continue next month" only to take the magazine home and discover there's no Guyver at all. So yeah, people here are invested financially in the story so whinging about the slow pace is very much ok as far as I'm concerned.

I appreciate what you're saying but MANY mangaka's are in their 50's now and are still pumping work out. He advertised for an assistant for months on end probably because he wants to increase page count but even then, a full-time manga artist (Which he is) can easily draw 10 pages in a day. That's the business. An assistant would only be drawing backgrounds anyway as there's no way they would be entrusted with drawing the main characters. He's been aware of his crappy output for years but he's not in any rush to remedy it. This is his only source of income so why hurry to cut off his living? Sorry, I get where you're coming from, I really do but, Takaya IS lazy. And he knows it. He only needs to look at the amount of work his peers (that are around his age or older) are producing to know he's dragging his feet too much.

Yep that says the Guyver is on hiatus until further notice. Would be great if we get 30 pages (you know, the average for any other monthly manga) upon its return but we all know its gonna be 10 pages again. I actually loathe this Mangaka now. His laziness is an utter pisstake.

I didn't buy it but I picked up the copy and flicked through the pages in the store. Contents page? No Guyver. Coming next issue page? No Guyver. Money saved for another 2 months then!

Ending? Yeah that would be nice... Hopefully in the next 40 years we'll get one.

Its a Kinkeshi!! you may remember those little orange men called "Musclemen" from the 80's? This is a guyver custom of one those that's why it's so cheap! It's only a couple of centimeters tall! Grab it! It's Super rare!!

Ok so since it's the 26th of the month, I went to the local bookstore to pick up Shonen Ace and, for the second time in the past 6 months, there was no Guyver. This is despite it saying last month that it would continue this month. I am so pissed at this bullshit that Shonen Ace are pulling now. In fact, I tweeted them immediately with this tweet before throwing the magazine straight in the bin. For those who can't read Japanese, I said: "You fooled me again. Last month it said that Guyver would continue this month but once again, for second the time in 6 months, you've lied to us all and not actually printed it. Any chance you can stop lying? Do you only do this because you know there's a lot of people that wouldn't buy your boring as drenn magazine each month if it didn't have the Guyver? Is that why you don't announce that it isn't actually inside? Stop ripping us off!!" There, I went straight to the assholes and said my piece. Shonen Ace costs the same as a Tankobon of the Guyver so you imagine why I am so pissed off right guys? I hate wasting money needlessly. Oh and btw, Guyver wasn't listed on the "in next month's issue" page either so don't expect anything soon. Well, I say that but Shonen Ace make it up as they go along so who knows, right? As of now, I'm only buying Shonen Ace when I see a scan go up. I'm not falling for their disgraceful tactics anymore. Grrrr

The Datafile page for it in the back of book 32 officially calls it "XD Darkness" Honestly, reading the original Japanese every month etc, I have to say this is easily one of the most annoying names in the manga. Takaya can't seem to make his mind up but the name switches around like the changing wind it seems. As such, I guess he's called XD Darkness, Exceed Darkness, Darkness Exceed, Gigantic Dark, AND Gigantic Darkness. It really depends how he feels each month it seems!! Btw, the "XD" is of course an abbreviation. Everytime XD appears in the manga, the word "Exceed" is always written above it so I think the XD is used for space purposes more that anything else!

Personally I reckon they are gonna pull something out of the hat and give Agito a bit of trouble. Apollyon! Where are you?! LOL

1 - He's still in Agito's hand. 2 - Not sure, but it looks like it 3 - It did it's job and disappeared. The last page was pretty cool right?

Are you lucky enough to live in Japan AND read the language too? That would be awesome Last week marked the start of my 16th year living in Japan actually! Yes, I can read the language no problem! Being married to a non-English speaker kinda requires fluency really! Haha! I reckon it's just the overspill from last month when we were promised a chapter but didn't actually get one. We'll probably only get 8 or so pages next month....

Just read it now. It's a pretty decent "chapter" actually! Hopefully we'll get 18 pages next month too! (Yeah, yeah dream on, I know!) The final page in this month's effort is pretty badass I must say!

Whatever happens, it looks like we're gonna have to wait another month. Despite the last issue of Shonen Ace saying Guyver would continue this month, I just bought a copy, got home to read it, and discovered there is NO guyver this month. Rather pissed off that I spent the money (about the same price as a Guyver volume btw!) on this month's shonen ace now. Needless to say its gone straight in the trash since I'm not interested in looking at 1000+ pages of manga with nothing but minor's panties. It DID say that Guyver will be in the next issue though. I'm a little apprehensive now though since they said that LAST month too.

I believe he mentioned that he was planning on "meeting" with Guyver 1, but Guyot was his priority. And with Guyot getting away, Apollyon decided to leave. Which Sho didn't like, but Apollyon got away. I could only guess what Apollon would want to meet with Sho for. Perhaps it could be in regards to Apollon's overall goal. There is one thing that has caught my attention recently. I saw an untranslated chapter online featuring a blank faced Archanfel living with the Segawa's in a small house. I also remember seeing Apollon appearing with Sho's giant severed hand, and Archanfel poking his head out of a window to see what's going on. My question is why are the Segawa's living in a house in with Archanfel in the first place? Apollyon kidnapped them during Guyots attack on the mansion. It seems whatever happened to Archanphel after reviving Imakarum has affected him even more, and he needs to eat and live like a human, rather than just hibernating like he has done in the past. And I doubt Archanphel can cook very well. So Apollyon kidnapped two people he knows that could take care of him ( assuming he is who the majority of us think he is)... possibly also because he will require Guyver 1's help at some point and they have a double purpose as helpers and leverage on Sho. As for why the Exceed Hand was there... Apollyon used Li Yentsui's ability to cut Sho's hand off after Sho had grabbed him, and teleported away with it. It kind of fell and shook the house as they were eating. If Apollon is who everyone thinks he is how on earth did he get that snazzy armor? Supposedly it's made out of the same material as the control metal, or at least something similar. Also, am I writing Apollon's name correctly? No, it's spelt Apollyon mate! As for his armor, that's a good question!!

I bet Clumegnig does spherical force fields (he used one as a weapon against Aptom way back when) and Jabir does the vortex stuff. I wonder why he hasn't shrunken down yet - does this mean his battleform is always that big? I really don't know why but, I have a HUGE hunch that Apollyon is gonna rock up and get involved in this fight. Clumegnik needs to do something pretty drastic if he doesn't wanna get crushed in Agito's hand...
