  1. amazing couple of chpts, can't wait until they're translated into English at any rate, Mizuki and Tetsuro surviving on Silha against all manner of prehistoric and legendary creatures is pretty damn awesome in and of itself, but now they have what could possibly be an ancient breed of zoanoid following them around! It'll be interesting to see if he's native to the island like everything else or if Archanfel brought him in to keep an eye on our heroes.
  2. Thanks Ryuki, its one of my faves as well, the artist, Vanheist, does amazing work He did a great job on Priscella, and Duronel is the one Hyper Zoanoid OC I have that I'm completely satisfied with (the others I've had commissioned look great too, I'm just not sure if I'm tinkering with them & their overall designs yet).
  3. Thanks for your thoughts on Priscella, Bio Boosted Dude and Salkafar Here's another pic of Priscella in her human form, standing alongside her Hyper Zoanoid minion, Duronel >8D
  4. I dunno what to make of Agito's change of heart to be honest...I mean, I kinda liked how black and white the differences between Sho and Agito were if ya know what I mean. Agito was smarter, more athletic, and aggressive than Sho, seemingly the ideal host for the guyver, but Sho was more pure of heart and determined to protect those he loves than Agito, giving him a sense of inner strength that Agito lacked and couldn't comprehend. Agito was only interested in power and control and how he could use the guyver and others to his advantage, whereas Sho, who never wanted to be a guyver, only wanted to use his power to help others. I guess I liked Agito better as a bad guy, he was never really on Sho's side even during the earlier chpts, he was just using him for his own benefit until he had the means by which to oppose Chronos without the aid of another Guyver. He and his Zeus Thunderbolt organization made for an interesting third faction in the comic, as well as good antagonists given their disregard for civilian lives and Agito's desire to replace Archanfel as the earth's ruler. For Agito to suddenly start caring about his formerly expendable underlings and change his attitude just seems to come out of left field to me. Anyone else feel this way? Or am I just being a killjoy overthinking things? XD P.S. even though I'm not completely sold on Agito's change of heart, I do like how he made graves for Hayami, Shizu's grandpa, and all the fallen Libertus.
  5. It could depend on the intensity of the blast, the stronger the setting, the less of a mess left behind. I mean, if the guyver can lock on to a target's sonic frequency, they're supposed to be able to shake any unshielded target apart. However, if a guyver doesn't have time to find the specific frequency or doesn't fire a full sonic blast, it makes sense that they'd just blow the target apart rather than disintegrate it.
  6. Hi everyone, its been a while since I posted here on the forum so I figured I'd remedy that and give back to the Guyver fan community by sharing some artwork I've commissioned from some of the best artists on deviantart.com! First up are two images of my female Zoalord OC Priscella Westenra, a British Zoalord who controls Europe in my own personal fanverse lol. She was drawn by the VERY talented Inspector97, do yourself a favor and check out his gallery when ya get the chance. As you can see, her Zoaform comes in two different colors, and while I'm partial to her blue and white version, I'd like to ask you all which version of her Zoalord form do you like best? They're basically identical except for the coloration. Oh, and her zoaform is basically modeled after Purgstall's, only with electrified biowhips for close range combat (the only real flaw in his zoaform's design).
  7. I wasn't disappointed persay when the Exceed was introduced, BUT, I will admit I was kinda like "what the hell? Seriously? Megazord Guyver?" XD I guess my fear at that point was that the story was going to become too outlandish or that Sho was going to become far too ridiculously powerful for any of the remaining Zoalords to pose a serious threat or challenge to him anymore, I mean, the Gigantic seemed plenty powerful enough at the time, but I got over it and feel that he's still got his work cut out for him since we have no idea what Imakuram, Arcanfel, or Apollyon have planned for him just yet or just how powerful they might be at their peak. Plus, Sho's the sort of guy who, unlike Agito, isn't gonna go rampaging uncontrollably through a city slaughtering zoanoids and people alike. Becoming a giant with OMG Class weaponry has its drawbacks afterall, especially if you're a hero fighting against enemies who aren't afraid of accumulating human casualties, i.e. Chronos.
  8. I was honestly surprised by the arrival of Apollyon, I had expected either Aptom or one of the male guyers to show up, instead the most dangerous wild card in the Guyver Universe so far is here and I think Guyot's finally run out of luck!
  9. I have to agree with much of Super Existence's reasoning concerning Apollyon's identity being that of Archanfel or Imakuram as opposed to an Advent agent, especially the part about if the Advents really returned and wanted earth gone, they could easily just hurl more meteors or moons at it until they get the job done as opposed to dispatching just one agent to go around stealing Zoacrystals.
  10. Awesome! Found my way here at last lol. Excellent job on the translated comic Amika, thanks for sharing it with us I must admit I was caught off guard by ALOT of what's happened recently...Natsuki's fall & undertermined fate, Shizu's arm, Valcuria being knocked out, & Guyot coming face to face with Apollyon of all people! Guyot just can't seem to catch a break can he? Returned from the grave and already his master plan is falling apart XD I agree with what others have said that Apollyon is probably after Guyot's unit remover, however, since many of us suspect that Apollyon MIGHT be Imakuram or Archanfel in disguise, it wouldn't be out of the question for one or the other to be after him for personal reasons, if its really one of them I mean of course. If Archanfel, he'd likely want to finish Guyot off for good like he meant to do at Mount Minakami, and if its Imakuram, well...He has ALOT of unresolved hostility towards Guyot that I think he'd like to get off his chest this time around now that he's the one with all the power Appollyon could still be an Advent creation I suppose, but it wouldn't be as dramatic if that's the case. P.S. I seriously hope Valcuria survives, she's still too much of a mystery and has way too much potential to be killed off yet. Guyot is probably done for in my opinion, since he's lost most of his Supreme Zoalord power afterall...Though I dunno where Val is gonna go from here at this point once she eventually recovers.
  11. Hannibal Cannibal Barcus it is then >:3 XD At any rate, the new council is gonna be a mix, some Zoalords will be modeled after past Zoalord models, only upgraded in some ways, perhaps compensating for their predecessors weaknesses and/or with anti-guyver combat in mind (Imakuram is proof you can take an older yet still successful Zoalord design and make it even better than before) whereas others will possess new designs and abilities we haven't seen other Zoalords utilize yet. Gotta have a few originals or near originals in there afterall, though knowing my luck the remaining Zoalords we haven't seen transform yet will end up having the abilities I have planned for my own XD.
  12. I know what ya mean, its kinda unavoidable not to think of Hannibal Lector when ya hear the name Hannibal, even though it was originally a great Carthagian General's name. Naming the son of Barcus has been a challenge (can't just call him Bob or Billy Barcus or something XD), I liked the sound of Dominic before but had to change it for the reasons I mentioned before...I like the sound of Hannibal Barcus since it has the historical connection just like his dad's, but I'm also considering the name "Fulton Barcus," basically name him after the main villain from the Guyver live action film, but he'd be a totally different character, just like how Manga Valcuria has little in common with the 80s OVA Valcuria beyond the name, the unit G, & the connection to Chronos. Which do ya think works better? Fulton or Hannibal? Glad ya like the interaction between Zoalords so far, wanted to develop them a little and have them discussing amongst themselves the strange absences and what not before the actual meeting begins. And I'm not telling ya who's to blame for Galenos's death just yet, it'll ruin the surprise, bwahahahaha! >8D I didn't wish to kill Tuatha off at first, but god knows when we'll finally see him in action in the manga and we've never seen him talk or show much of a personality, so its hard to utilize him as a character (he'd basically just be there in the background doing nothing lol, maybe set something on fire with his crazy morning breath XD). Plus, his death makes things interesting and shakes things up, especially since Chronos has been sitting pretty for the most part since the ten year timeskip. Tuatha's death is the first Zoalord casualty in years, so yeah, big news
  13. Oh heavens no, Barcus Jr would never shirk his duties in such a manner "meanwhile, on a private island in the tropics, Barcus Jr. is busy enjoying some fun in the sun with Valcuria" XD Anywho, I added a bit more to the teaser, basically gave the new zoalords a chance to speak and what not, may end up editing it again and skipping straight to the meeting if the conversations between the council members come off the wrong way, still working on how they should all act and how they'd behave casually and formally. Oh, Dominic is now called Hannibal, basically named him after the son of the real life Hamilcar Barca, that our good ol Hamilcar Barcus is named after. I did this because I changed Seraphina's name to Dorofei, didn't want there to be too many zoalords with a first name starting with D, lol. The name Seraphina will now refer to another character we'll meet later on.
  14. Thanks, glad ya like it so far, Takaya is an amazing guy for thinking up so many Zoalord characters, it was INCREDIBLY hard to imagine up the few I have even when I had past zoalords to influence them somewhat lol. Glad ya liked Barcus and Imakuram's interactions, and as for Barcus Jr's current whereabouts...You'll see, bwahahahaha! >8D What ya think of Imakuram being head of Chronos Japan and Commander in Chief of Chronos? I figure since his territory is smaller than that of the other Zoalords, who have multiple countries to watch over in some cases, it wouldn't take up as much of his time to manage, so he can still keep an eye on the others and check in on Archanfel and not fall behind, etc. Plus, since he IS Japanese, I figure it makes the most sense for him to watch over his own homeland.
  15. Guyver: Age of Chronos The sun could be seen rising ever higher in the morning sky over the ominous pyramid fortress that was Chronos' Dead Sea Base, the Supreme Zoalords Hamilcar Barcus & Imakuram Mirabilis patiently awaiting the arrival of their fellow Council members while their various zoanoid minions patrolled the area by land, sea, and air, hard at work to guarantee their masters safety. To some they might have appeared like royalty dressed in their regal cloaks, to others, cold-blooded tyrants, and to be honest, either description would have suited them quite well as they gazed over the horizon, observing the growing number of Chronos luxury helicopters arriving in the distance, escorted by huge flocks of aerial type zoanoids. "Well, here they come" mused Commander Imakuram Mirabilis, second in command of Archanfel's Council of Twelve.and ruler of Japan. "Hhhmmm, indeed," replied Dr. Hamilcar Barcus, Archanfel's oldest vassal and chief scientist of Chronos "How long has it been since the last gathering?" "Five years, when young Morgan joined the council, since then we've all been too busy repairing the damage done to Chronos by our enemies & tending to our individual projects. Until now, Lord Archanfel has had you or me periodically check in on the others & report back while he focuses on recovering. Hard to believe its only been ten years since he eliminated the threat of the Guyver Exceed..." "Time flies when you're having fun" Imakuram said, allowing a cold grin to appear on his face, his feline like eyes concealed as always by his dark shades. One by one the transport helicopters landed, their mighty propeller blades kicking up fierce winds before powering down, the aerial zoanoids continuing to patrol the skies while the Dead Sea Base's security forces secured the perimeter around the transports, men and women dressed in Chronos soldier uniforms swarming everywhere like ants defending their colony. Though these zoanoids knew that even one Zoalord possessed far more power than any of them combined, they still took their duty seriously as their master's guardians, ever vigilant for any manner of threat that could emerge. The first of the helicopters to arrive opened and out sprang an escort of five grim and serious looking men dressed in the purple dress uniforms of the Hyper Zoanoids, Chronos' elite warriors. These Hyper Zoanoids were soon followed by an elven looking gentleman with a red gem in the center of his forehead, dressed in gold and black armor with a red cloak. "Sin Rubeo Amniculus, ruler of Australia, the last of the old guard is here right on time, no surprise there" Imakuram stated. "Yes, It does my old heart good to see Sin again, but it is still hard to accept that Tuatha is gone, that Sin and myself are all that remain of Lord Archanfel's original Council of Twelve..." "Enough doctor, we'll be discussing that matter at today's meeting, behind closed doors, not out in the open. Lord Archanfel expects us to instill order and maintain unity amongst his vassals while he rests, to prepare them for the day he shall personally lead us on the crusade against the Uranus. We least of all can afford to show weakness at a time like this, understood?" "Indeed, Commander," Barcus replied, gritting his teeth over being scolded like a child by the far younger Zoalord, even if he was Archanfel's regent. More Zoalords exited their transports, a diverse mix of men and women all dressed in their own style of cloak and armor, some modeled after the style of fallen Zoalords who's thrones they had inherited, with some personal touches here and there. "Ah yes, the new generation of Zoalords...Lynette Morgan of Europe, Ying Shen of China, Dumisa Nkosi of Africa, Jagjit Rai of India, and last but not least, Hannibal Barcus of North America...Or rather, his lost number secretary, Umbriel. "WHAT?! Damn it all, must that boy embarrass me at every meeting? What game is he playing at now?" "Rather harsh words considering he's your own son, doctor." "Clone to be precise, and I would have aged him a few more decades if I'd known bestowing my centuries of scientific knowledge upon the biological equivalent of an 18 year old would result in such a mischievous brat." "To be fair, chronologically speaking he's only ten, so I'd say that makes him rather mature for his age, and he's made good use of the knowledge you bestowed upon him, North America has surpassed all the other branches in zoanoid production & development under his management." "Hmph, there can be no denying the boy's talent, but he's still far too sure of himself, just as I was once. He needs more discipline, and self-control" Barcus grumbled, shaking his head in disapproval as a sheepish looking Umbriel followed behind the approaching Zoalords, wondering what on earth his son was up to this time. Meanwhile, the new arrivals conversed amongst themselves... "I'm telling you Lynette, you should have worn a half cloak to today's proceedings, its the in style right now, and whats the point of wearing a leotard at all if you're not going to show off a little?" argued a beautiful young woman with wavy, strawberry blond hair and dressed in elegant, bejeweled armor and a short cloak. "And I'm telling you Dorofei, I'm fine with what I'm wearing, I'm a Zoalord of Chronos, not a fashion model. I wish to appear authoritative, not alluring" replied her equally gorgeous companion, sporting long straight light blond hair and elven ears. "We're goddesses darling, we can be both! Ying? Back me up on this would you?" "Hhmm? Sorry ladies, I wasn't paying attention, I was distracted by Hannibal's absence. Seems he sent that pet Lost Number of his in his stead, Old Barcus won't like that at all, and Commander Miribilis will like it even less" replied a dark haired woman wielding a fan and dressed in a Chinese qipao dress. "Hmph, good riddance, that wicked little fiend is always up to some mischief, at times I honestly cannot believe he and Lord Barcus are related" scowled Lynette. "Really? I find him quite charming, you can always count on him to liven up what would normally be a dull occasion. Not to mention he's quite handsome." "Looks aren't everything Dorofei, especially when it comes to HIM. Now that I think of it, Hannibal's not the only council member missing today, where's Lord Galenos?" "Not a clue darling, never had a thing for men with "chiseled features" laughed the Zoalord of Russia, Ying and Lynette both rolling their eyes at their compatriot's joke. "I wouldn't worry if I were you Lady Morgan, Galenos and Hannibal probably decided to follow Lord Archanfel's example and take an extended holiday" interjected Jagjit as he joined the ladies conversation, smirking to himself in his Indian style robes and pagri. "Lord Archanfel's business is his own Jagjit, just worry about your own duties as his vassal and never forget to show our founder the proper respect he deserves, even when you think he's not within earshot" admonished Amniculus, exerting his authority as a Zoalord elder. "Yes, my apologies Lord Amniculus, I meant no disrespect" Jagjit quickly apologized, bowing his head. "Does something trouble you Lord Amniculus? You seem apprehensive this day" inquired Dumisa. "I am fine Dumisa, though I suspect today's meeting shall prove enlightening in more ways than one" Sin confessed, unable to shake the growing dread he felt in regards to the fate of his old comrade Tuatha de Galenos. The progression of Zoalords halted to greet Imakuram and Hamilcar, the two highest ranked Zoalords under Archanfel, the men bowing in respect while the women curtsied. outside story: So yeah, this is what I've got so far in my fledgling Guyver fanfic, I'd welcome any comments or critique from you all since I'm still developing this tale but want it to work out (its hard thinking up new faces for the council and who's in charge of what, etc lol).
  16. I wonder if it would be possible for Chronos to make an upgraded version of Yentsui who could see his own portals without needing a single "black eye" stone & one normal eye...I mean, maybe they could update the design somehow so the portal master type could have two normal vision eyes & yet still see its portals. Maybe give him somesort of visor or multifaceted eyes so he could see both normally and in portal vision, or perhaps an extra pair of eyes while in Zoaform, or even special eye lenses (like how crocs have extra transparent eyelids for seeing under water). I'm sure those crazy kooks at chronos could figure something out to better equip a new generation of Yentsui type Zoalord. I mean, the old model worked, but given how his two eyes were designed it did limit him somewhat (I assume his portal eye remained the same in both human and zoaform or else he wouldn't have hidden it behind his hair like that in human form).
  17. i suspect you're probably right, and I do want to learn more about Val and see more of her in action, I just think it stinks that we may end up losing our only female Zoalord, heck, only female zoanoid of any type period.
  18. `I'm having trouble locating the volume where Aptom fights Zektole and absorbs the remaining Team 5 members, sorry about that guys >_< I suppose that could work as well, the whole "mind on the mission" thing, though I still suspect each Aptom is as much Aptom as any other, i.e. they all consider themselves part of the same battle creature so they have no reason to turn on eachother. As long as a piece of Aptom remains, he can regenerate and start anew, so i guess its a non-issue either way...Maybe he fears unleashing copies of himself worldwide would be too dangerous (he's much more reserved and far less psychotic than he was back when he first began absorbing other zoanoids). thanks for the scanlation Ryuki
  19. I don't recall this, can you confirm please? I only remember him saying that he is only aptom, and both of them are only aptom. I don't recall any mention of shared consciousness or any suggestion that they can share experiences as a collective would. Well, I'll double check and try to hunt down the original manga chpt when I get the chance to do so (going to see Sherlocke Holmes: Game of Shadows at the theatre at the moment, gotta jet!). Though I think thats how they explained it in the 2005 anime, which Takaya helped on I think, and if each Aptom were independent rather than the same creature or linked somehow, why would any of the clones willingly merge back together with the original Aptom? But as I said, I'll try to track down the original manga chpt and if I'm wrong, I'll let ya know. But if Aptom said that he is only Aptom and so are his clones, doesn't that imply they're all the same creature/individual just with extra bodies?
  20. <p> Nice. I was too lazy this time. I just realized something: People are waking up and getting out of their house because they heard an explosion? While a 165-foot Guyver has been stomping around in the ruins of Shinjuku, stopping a Gigasmasher-blast? You think that might have made some noise... caused some earth tremors maybe? How come nobody has gone Hey, Marge! Look at that, hon! You ever seen anything like that? Hey man, they come from Japan, you see one Dai Kaiju battle, you've seen them all! LOL XD I remember that too, Aptom said that he and his copies acted like a collective, multiple bodies but only one consciousness guiding each of them. So basically, each copy is just an extension of himself, one mind, multiple bodies. Which again raises the question as to why he doesn't just spread himself across the planet and attack as many Chronos bases as possible, if he absorbed enough bio matter he could easily make as many bodies as he'd need for something like that right? He'd be like an bug infestation, the Zoalords could blow one Aptom away only for another to come crawling out of the woodwork sooner or later. Though Chronos could counter this by making as many Enzyme 3's as possible and making them a standard defense for every Chronos base.
  21. Dunno, its hard to say how far Griselda's psychic range extends, though since most other Zoalords appear able to influence and control all Zoanoids within their territory it is possible she could still command the Libertus at the docks. Though I doubt she'd order her remaining troops to blow up if she's still in touch with them, it would make more sense to summon them to her as much needed backup, assuming Aptom hasn't devoured them already and gained the abilities of a Libertus for himself (he'd look pretty cool with Mode B bio blasters on his shoulders lol). I agree its also possible that Aptom could have sent a clone body back to the mansion if he's still fighting the last libertus...I'm honestly shocked he doesn't do that more often. I mean, couldn't he conceivably cause trouble for Chronos all over the globe if he made enough copies of himself and sent them out to seek and destroy? Or can he not stay in contact with his doppelgangers over that great a distance? They came in handy at Mount Minakami against the Hyper Zoanoid Team 5 and again when he was teaching Sho a lesson while disguised as Team 5. He'd be a literal one man army lol
  22. ha ha this post was so much fun oh by the by, you said guyot has a synthetic control medal Yeah, I think Guyot's sporting a Dummy Crystal at the moment However, I agree that is the funniest post I've read in a while, that would be priceless! Agito would probably be thinking "what the hell was I thinking taking on this guy?" after watching him do something like that XD As funny as it is though, its not totally out of the question, who knows how wide a range the Exceed's hyper senses can go?
  23. I gotta agree with you there, Shizu's best chance at survival would be for Aptom to pop up & intervene (and hope he's feeling merciful even after the trouble she and her boss caused prior to the arrival of Guyot and company...They WERE holding Sho's friends captive under threat of death if they tried to leave after all). Sho and Agito were still in the middle of the city facing off when last we saw them, so it seems unlikely they'd arrive in time to save the day (and Agito was looking shocked over something when last we saw him)
  24. Its possible Shizu had received some manner of combat training before becoming a Zoalord, just so she'd be able to handle herself on the battlefield (or had it programmed into her). Though given the nature of her limited stamina and lifespan, I doubt she got to practice fighting in Zoaform since she had to spend most of her time outside of combat resting in a optimization tank, so she may have been dependent on the Libertus and her blades to fight for her all this time, she was created to lead the Libertus and fight zoanoids, no idea how she'll fair against a Guyver without her weapons or any backup...Guess we'll have to wait and see how well she can hold her own against the VERY skilled Valcuria without her swords and soldiers (she'd stand a better chance if her physical strength and speed where on par with a guyver). Granted, as someone who serves a Guyver, Griselda surely knows what a Guyver's weak points are, like the control medal, question is whether she can score a critical hit without being killed Its a pity her HF Swords weren't vibrating when Valcuria made her move, I assume that's the reason why they were so easily severed. Val caught her completely off guard and scored a major advantage by taking away her only offensive and defensive weapons (that we know of).
  25. I guess it is possible Griselda may have a final ace up her sleeve, but if she does, its probably something rather life threatening/dangerous or extreme given that she chose to blow up her men over using it first, i.e. it wouldn't be something as simple and easy as say a zoacrystal head beam or a energy slasher like Murakami had. She may be able to still fly or use her Zoalord strength and stamina perhaps, combined with whatever combat training she may have to defend herself against Val's weapons (though we've never seen the upper limits of her physical strength tested, no idea if she could grapple with a guyver...She always struck me as being designed to lead and support rather than for front line combat). It would be cool if both lived to fight another day, but Griselda would have to be VERY lucky to escape death at this point, like, Aptom showing up at the last second to fend the attackers off or Val's control medal beginning to surge, forcing her to disengage the armor and retreat, leaving things at a draw. But yeah, regardless of how this battle turns out, I strongly suspect Val will survive to fight again since she's still a complete mystery to us, she's not gonna die with her origin & motives unexplained (or if she did, it would be rather uncharacteristically bad story telling, and Takaya's always been an amazing story teller since the beginning of the Guyver series, he never disappoints )
