  1. Yes, but just cardiovascular and calories equivalent. Since the only muscles you'll be using are your hands and heart. You'll still have to get up every now and then to excersize the rest of your body
  2. Only two things wrong with the Wii, aside from the name that is. 1) It's basically a Game Cube with new packaging, no real graphical improvement. 2) The controls rely on line of site so you have to set it up on top where the control sensor bar won't be blocked. Though there is plan for a wi-fi version later. But the controls are basically only good for general motion. Not good if you need fast pin point control for the game. *Trivia, did you know you burn about as many calories playing a video game on average as you do going for a walk?
  3. I'd advise you wait, the initial release systems will have bugs just like the 360 had problems with over heating. Price should also improve since planned improvements include using a more efficient manufacturing process.
  4. Spoilers. . . . . Actually there are three possibilities for the bomb. 1) Ted Sprague, the one who emits radiation. Could go nuclear if he's killed. (Via Sylar or the death penalty or someone just hits him) 2) Sylar absorbs Ted's power but can't control it and goes nuclear. 3) Peter absorbs Ted's power but can't control it and goes nuclear. Sylar and Peter are alike in both can assimulate the abilities of others. Sylar does it by understanding how the power works and then making his own body and brain work in the same way. Peter does it by a form of empathy but the end result is the same albiet temporary. Though we're assuming Peter's ability relies on proximity but that may be because his power is not yet fully developed. Essentially the reason Peter is now sick is because of his power. Each time he uses the abilities of another he alters the way his brain works along with his DNA. The altered DNA is causing a metamorphasis within Peter, depending how that goes, remember some of the Heroes were dying of cancer, he could literally become a super powerful multi-talent like Sylar once his DNA stabilizes. He may even have Sylar's powers since he was in proximity to him when they tumbled off the school roof. If Peter's dream was true then saving Claire might be what saves him and thus the world. Since the ability to regenerate could make him more stable and perhaps handle the power better. The dream could also mean he's not ready yet and needs the powers of yet even more Heroes. Before he can, as future Hiro told him, become the one they need him to become. Btw, did anyone notice the glyph symbol for RNA keeps on turning up in this series? It's even on Hiro's sword
  5. Zero Point Energy (ZPE) Theories vary but essentially it means drawing virtually limitless energy from the very fabric of space time. Sci-fi series like Stargate use ZPE power crystals. Crystals if overloaded and made to explode would produce an explosion powerful enough to take out an entire solar system. Even in Star Trek, the quantum torpedoes use ZPE instead of anti-matter. Though note in real life we have no idea how to extract ZPE and some think it may even be impossible but it does exist so gives a good sci-fi possibility.
  6. Yup, though if you want to talk something specific like the scientific accuracy of the series then you can open up another thread in the science section.
  7. Yes, and with quantum mechanics you could have a ZPE system.
  8. , Uh this is the thread on Heroes. Unless you want to discuss something more specific?
  9. Quite a few. . . You got fusion like the Nova Guyvers. . . You got extra gravity control orbs like Merc Guyver. . . Pretty much any advance sci-fi power source you can think of. The HSL is just an example of a dimensional based one.
  10. That's part of it, the thing to remember is matter as we know it is mostly empty space. Feeling solid is an illusion of interacting energy fields. Like Neutrino's are so small a million of them can pass through you every second and not hit any part of you, which btw they are (passing through you). So in a quantum state the matter that makes up your body can be put out of phase with other matter and then you can just pass through the empty space. Like water passing through a grill, you can just go where there isn't anything to block you. Quantumly also means you can be in multiple places at the same time, so you can switch positions from one side of the wall to the other as a form of teleportation otherwise known as quantum tunneling. As for the play by play on the dimensional phasing, you got the general idea. The unit is there but not in a way that we can interact with.
  11. Correct, the HSL system is a more advance system of what the Guyver normally does. For normal Guyvers the gravity control orb syphons energy from the boost dimension and infuses the host with it. This is what allows the Guyver to recover from battle and regenerate so quickly. Not to mention why the Guyver doesn't need to eat. But the system has a limit since things like the Mega Smasher require time to recharge. Also the Guyver has far more energy from the Bio-Boost (when the unit is activated) than from the normal syphon. Evidence include a recent example of when Sho deactivated his unit and then reactivated a minute later. G1 previous injuries were fully regenerated and he was back at full power instantly. I also believe when G1 regenerated from just the CM that a Bio-Boost was involved since it only took a few minutes to completely regenerate the entire body from just a few cells, which is far faster than normal regeneration. For the WG, a more advance syphon system is involved that creates a direct link to the boost dimension. To prevent overload the host body is used as a sort of regulator/fuse. So only as much energy as the host body can handle is every transfered. Yes that means the HSL is scalable dependant on the potential of the host. It's also why the WG's power levels are so close to the Gigantic's since that is seen as the upper limit of a human hosted unit's potential.
  12. Can't really protect the CM as it is, if it doesn't vibrate then it can't go through walls. You'ld have to create a special CM capable of vibrating safely. Phasing would be better, basically the Guyver already does that. When the unit is deactivated it phases into the boost dimension. It is still technically on the host at all times but when not in use it is out of phase with normal space time and thus appears to not be there. So dimensional phasing would be a possibility. Alternative would be a form of quantum phasing which would allow an object to slip through the empty space of other objects.
  13. Uh, no. Vibrational weapons are basically kinetic weapons and the swords just like normal swords need a focusing point, aka blade edge, in order to work. And it would take a lot more than just vibrating to vibrate your molecules through a wall. Since doing so would probably kill you before you vibrate enough to phase through a wall Not to mention the Guyver CM is vulnerable to sonics, it'll paralyze the Guyver. So if you did create a fan fic Guyver capable of vibrating through walls it would have to be from a totally new design from the standard Guyvers.
  14. Generally just bulkier, dependant on the function of the extra bio-material of course. The Guyver is extremely efficient, virtually nothing goes to waste and everything is streamlined for maximum efficiency. So it would be unusual for there to be extra bio-material. The Guyver is also not just an exo-suit. The unit and host literally combine to form a new life form. So there has to be a reason for the extra bio-material. The Gigantic for example does add extra bio-material but it all serves a purpose and appears linked to power level. For example both Guyver 1 and 3 are different heights but as Gigantic Guyvers there heights are closer to each other than they normally are. So chances are you will only find extra bio-material on a modified unit or with a unit add on of some sort. Also like normal forms of life such as ourselves, the bio-material needs to take the form of muscles to provide actual physical power. The Guyver organism for example merges with the host muscles and enhances them to give the Guyver its strength. But if extra muscle mass is provided then yes, additional bio-material can increase strength. As for the Kinetic Orbs, technically all Guyvers have this. Basically part of the Guyver's muscle system include special organs at the key limb joints that channels the unit gravitational energy and allows the Guyver to boost their momentum by up to a factor of 10x. For example Guyver 1 weighs about 575 pounds so with his momentum enhancers he can stomp on a zoanoid with the force of nearly 3 tons with just his weight and one second drop. And Far more with an actual intended blow, which is why a Guyver can so easily punch their fist into a zoanoid's chest. The same organs are also what channels the unit's gravitational energy to the hands where the energy then gets focused into the Pressure Cannon, which we have found out is a form of static black hole. The Kinetic Orbs used by Rapier are a secondary system that further boosts kinetic power so adding them will add more physical power to the unit but something has to power them. The normal amps are powered by the unit's gravitational energy, so presumeably are too Rapier's Kinetic Orbs. So it may not be as simple as just adding more orbs. Additional Gravity Control Orbs may be necessary as well.
  15. Nope, basically that's just a kinetic battery but just like any battery it won't allow for perpetual energy. It just lets you store it efficiently but it won't give you more energy than you put into it.
  16. Well don't worry, we're still writing. You're very close to the answer for the cloaked man, maybe you should read the Manga for some more clues? As for Primitive Guyver, the simpliest answer is because he's not ready to reveal himself. His origins are also pretty simple. Here's a recap. . . The fiction keeps with the Manga up to the point the Creators tried to destroy Earth with the moon after the Guyver 0 incident. Unlike the Manga though they had second thoughts and returned to find the Earth survived the attack. The Creators then started the Warrior Project to try to learn to control the Guyver effect. But their worse fear came true and a Guyver Zoalord was created resulting in the Time War event with WG. Primitive Guyver was one of the Guyvers created to help fight the Guyver Zoalord but unlike the others he avoided having his unit removed before the Creators finally left Earth for good. He has since lived as an immortal Guyver among regular humans. And if I didn't make it obvious enough before I'll just come out and say just like the zoanoids were the source of legends of werewolves and other such creatures. The Zoalords left behind by the Creators were the origins of the ancient pagan gods of legends. So in all that what do you think PG was up to? And what could he be possibly up to now?
  17. It doesn't appear that Brian will be doing any more writing for the fan fiction. But I already know the plot for the remaining story line so will be continuing the fiction when I get the chance to write it. Consequently the general rule for answering future story line still stands. Though I can tell you things that have already been revealed in the fiction. Matt can answer about Robo Guyver. . . The Vampire Zoalords were the enemies of Elera's people and not of the same bloodline. . . Hmm, lifeforce sucking zoalords, now where have we seen something like that before? Primitive Guyver is the oldest Guyver on the planet, having been around since the Time War incident. . . So basically a really old Guyver, what would someone like that be capable of? What could he be up to? The F-G3 is not from another universe! . . . I believe you can figure out who the cloaked man is on your own. . . I can't yet tell you who's invading in 7 Days but due to the Barrier that isolates the WG universe from the other universes would prevent an invasion from the WG2 universe Creators.
  18. Ugh, sorry but I absolutely despise the new series. For me it lacks imagination and the spirit of the original series. I had some hope for it when it first started, the first few episodes were good, but they quickly killed it after that IMO.
  19. Well Matt is the one doing most of the mod stuff, I just argue with people in the science section till they are blue in the face As to what I'm doing, well . . . Believe it or not, still trying to get an update for the site. No promises but hopefully will have two fics ready by either December or January.
  20. Yes, vol 1 is out in the states.

    Info about the new series

Clarification, they aren't releasing the entire first season yet. Rather they are releasing individual releases that contain 4 episodes each. The entire season was 26 episodes. It won't be till about next Christmas when they'll release the entire first season as one box set.
