The warranty should start when you BUY the product, not when the product was manufactured. Ryuki, you might have bought your 360 right before Microsoft extended the warranty from 1 year to 3 years. I can see Microsoft doing that.

After it's fixed, I recommend that you get a third party cooling unit to make sure it keep from overheating just in case. I believe the one that my friend has is from Nyko and it just hooks on to the bottom of the 360.

My Christmas wasn't bad this year. Got 150 spacebucks! Ended up spending time with the family, and the day after Christmas had a get together at my cousin's apartment. I ended up getting the live-action Guyver flicks, the first three Onimusha games, and a game called Bujingai: The Forsaken City starting strangely enough GACKT. Good news is I still have plenty of spending moneys left over.
