My next champion is living proof that some things do run in the family...Rachel Anne Summers, aka Prestige! Hailing from the universe of Earth-811, the "Days of Future Past", Rachel is classified as an Omega Level mutant. She inherited enormous psionic powers from her mother and has limited control over her powerful telepathy and telekinesis. On many occasions, Rachel has shown incredibly strong empathic powers that enable her to control, manipulate and alter the feelings, sensations, and emotions of other sentient beings. Rachel is an Omega-Level telepath, similar to her mother Jean Grey, meaning she has limitless telepathic power. She can read minds and project her thoughts into the minds of other humans or animals within a vast, potentially limitless radius. She has not always had access to her telepathy due to fear of losing control. Even when her powers are inhibited, Rachel possesses potent telepathic abilities. She can use this power in a number of ways - Rachel can mask her presence from being detected by others. Her abilities can at times go undetected or be counteracted by other more powerful telepaths depending on their level of skill in using their own psi abilities. She can extend these defenses to others around her as well. In addition, Rachel possesses the ability to heal mental trauma through "psychic surgery", as well as the power to stimulate or deaden the pain and pleasure centers in a person's brain. She has also demonstrated abilities such as mind control, psionic shields (which can protect herself and the minds of others), mind transferal, telepathic illusions, mental paralysis, psionic blasts, the ability to place "psychic inhibitors" in the minds of mutant adversaries to prevent them from using their powers, astral projection, telepathic tracking, mental detection, and precognition, Rachel is also an Omega Level Telekinetic, meaning she has limitless telekinetic powers. She can sense and manipulate matter and energy, even on a sub-atomic level. Rachel can use her telekinesis to affect and control molecules and particles, allowing her to fully control matter and energy for a variety of effects. She can disassemble complex devices explosively (separating every last component, such as screws, nuts, circuit boards, etc.) and, just as quickly, easily assemble complex devices. This also has enabled her to even attain awareness and control over objects as small as individual electrons in an atom. For instance, Rachel could detect if a seal was hermetic or not by checking for the presence of penetrating oxygen molecules. She can even detect and discern individual oxygen molecules, and determine the atomic weight of molecules by the amount of atoms present. She has shown the ability to alter molecular and subatomic structures and the ability to alter molecular valences, or even rewrite her own genome. Rachel has also been able to create a micro black hole. She can manipulate and transmute matter on a sub-atomic level (e.g. instantly altering her clothing, turning wood into gold, plant into crystal, and cause physical bodies to disintegrate by altering their molecular structure, etc). She has even demonstrated the ability to create destructive psionic spikes that destroy the physical objects that they come into contact with. Rachel can also create protective force shields that can deflect even the most powerful of attacks (even filter bacteria from the air, withstand Jovian atmospheric pressures, and even repel nuclear weapon attacks). The upper limits of this ability remain unknown. Rachel has also displayed such control over the fields as to shape them precisely, even to conform very closely to her body’s form. There does not appear to be any correlation between field strength and the thickness of the telekinetic fields. She can project telekinetic energies as powerful blasts beams directed from her brain that could apparently affect matter with concussive force. Rachel is capable of telekinetically enhancing her physical abilities to superhuman levels. Rachel can also manifest her telekinesis as a psionic firebird, whose claws can inflict both physical and mental damage, as well as use her TK to manipulate various types of the energy from electromagnetic spectrum. Rachel even possesses the psionic power to travel and manipulate time for a variety of effects, including: travel through time and space, stopping or greatly slowing down time in her immediate vicinity, etc.) Rachel can even send the awareness/consciousness/soul of herself or others to the past or future versions of herself, or possibly their ancestors/descendants. She can also unconsciously emanation of a fourth dimensional pulse which creates a chrono-shield protecting from changes in the timeline, and can mentally project past events into the minds of others. When this Phoenix rises...even Archanfel should be wary. Thoughts?

Thought I'd do something this round...a husband-and-wife team! Let's begin with Brian Braddock, better known as Captain Britain! Brian's abilities are powered by interdimensional energies which are concentrated around the British Isles of each reality and also in Otherworld; moving too far away from the field will cause eventual power loss unless a power-enhancing costume is worn. After being lost in the timestream for a while, Brian briefly had precognitive flashes, though these eventually abated. For a time, all of his abilities were localized to Britain; if he went abroad for too long a time without wearing his costume, his powers eventually diminished to nothing. His costume acts as an antenna and battery, allowing him to retain his powers wherever he goes. When he and Meggan destroyed the Otherworld energy matrix at Roma's prompting, however, the energies that allowed him to retain his power within the UK without his costume were dissipated. Hence, to retain his powers anywhere on Earth, he must wear the costume at all times. Recently, Brian has gained the ability to use his powers even without his suit. They are now based on his confidence. With greater confidence comes more power, and he weakens as his confidence does. Originally, his powers were linked to the Amulet of Right, worn around his neck, and he depended on a mace-like Star Scepter to fly. Later on Merlyn changed his costume just before he entered an alternate Earth (Earth-238), removing the Amulet and the Scepter placing the powers in his new costume. Not long after that he was killed by the Fury and had his body remade by Merlyn, who chose this point to make his powers innate and stronger, with his costume merely serving as a "battery" and amplifier. Currently, Brian's powers are sustained by his own confidence and heritage as the son of a denizen of Otherworld. Thus, the more confident he is, the greater his powers are and vice versa. While wearing his costume, Braddock's strength is increased to high superhuman levels. At his peak, he's able to lift approximately 90 tons. Braddock's advanced musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a normal human. At his peak, he can exert himself physically for about 24 hours before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him. While wearing his costume, Braddock's body is surrounded by an invisible force field that renders him highly resistant to physical injury. The field allows him to sustain powerful energy blasts, great impact forces such as bazooka shells or being repeatedly struck by superhumanly strong opponents, temperature extremes, and falls from great heights without being injured. However, repeated impacts from sufficiently powerful forces or weaponry will weaken and, eventually, penetrate the field. The field's density, however, is specially designed to allow oxygen and light to pass through it. This force field is now sustained by his own confidence. Braddock's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. In addition, his reflexes are similarly enhanced and are superior to those of the finest human athlete. Braddock can purposely draw upon the energies that give him his other powers to temporarily increase the efficiency of his senses, enhancing them to superhuman levels. He can see objects with perfect clarity at much greater distances than a normal human can. His hearing is similarly enhanced, allowing him to hear further than a human and to detect sounds normal humans can't. He can also can also channel these energies for the purpose of flying through the air at great speeds. At his peak, he is capable of surpassing the Speed of Sound, 770 miles per hour. The force field that grants him his superhuman durability enables him to withstand the rigors of traveling at such high velocities would have on human tissue without harm, as well as allowing him to breathe normally. Of course, as tough as the Captain is, his wife is certainly no pushover either. Let's say hello to Meggan Puceanu-Braddock! A mutant empath, metamorph and elemental of great power, Meggan mostly keeps her strength at a decent 50 tons but since she has a deep connection with the earth she actually draws strength from the planet. So she can augment her to 100+ tons to even incalculable levels. Meggan has survived energy-based attacks, blunt force based attacks, and weapon based attacks even attacks like demonic/holy based attacks and magic attacks. In addition, she is capable of sensing the emotions and feelings of all living creatures (from people, to animals, to plants) and can broadcast her own feelings in order to influence other people's emotions. Meggan has the ability to “see” and “hear” natural/biological patterns of forces in the world around her. This power links her with natural/biological patterns of forces in the world around her, as well as with her own empathy/shapeshifting. Meggan can sense electromagnetic forces, air currents, chemical reactions and even detect “visibly” telepathic communications. Meggan can also see and sometimes talk to ghosts. She can assume the form of any living creature, even those who only exist in legends (once she became a Godzilla-like dragon and actually breathed fire, and another occasion she became a werewolf that looked like fellow mutant Wolfsbane, and had all of a wolf's natural abilities). Meggan can assume the form of other people as well. Thanks to her empathic ability, Meggan's body will actually change in response to the emotions around her, becoming beautiful when she feels loved, or hideous when she feels fear or anger. Her elemental powers also cause Meggan to change in response to her surroundings, such as growing fur in extreme cold, or gills when she is submerged underwater. She has also demonstrated the abilities to turn into sentient sand or water. If she takes on the appearance of another superhuman, Meggan can also gain their powers. This also worked when she turned into a female mirror of the Silver Surfer. In her true form, Meggan can manipulate, absorb or release elemental energy - this includes earth, fire, water, air and even ether(energy). Thanks to Meggan's empathy, she has a psionic link to the natural forces of the Earth. By "speaking" to the elements, Meggan can command the environment around her, and her emotional state can affect the local ecosystems. She can extinguish forest fires with a thought, summon gale force winds or part the waters of a lake with wave of her hand, or even cause earthquakes in a flash of anger. Meggan has even been observed causing electromagnetic pulses by commanding the magnetic fields around her, freezing opponents by rapidly dropping the air temperature around them, or increasing the powers of elemental mutants (such as increasing the temperature of her teammate Peter Wisdom's heat blasts). Meggan has used her elemental powers to affect man-made objects, such as actually making the atoms in a building's roof move apart, creating a hole in the roof that resealed itself (without a trace of ever having had a hole in it) once Meggan had passed though it (which suggests that Meggan's elemental powers may have a Telekinetic quality). Meggan has the ability to propel herself through the air at high speeds by force of will. While she does so, her hair streams out behind her to a length far longer than it usually is. Whether this is a conscious use of her shapeshifting power is unknown. Meggan can apparently support great weights even when flying. She can adapt to her physical environment, becoming impervious to cold without changing shape to adapt. In her true form, Meggan can manipulate magical energy, i.e. deflecting spells. Meggan's powers grow more fluid and manageable and stronger while she is in magical realms. Also, because of her shapechanging power, Meggan has some resistance to the reality-warping powers of others. She was able to break free of the power of Jamie Braddock, and was one of the few to remember the effects of the Jaspers Warp. So...individually, they could give Archanfel some trouble. Together, though...they could be a real force to be reckoned with. Thoughts?

Let me answer that question with a question -- has anyone ever tried to attack Archanfel psychically?

Our next contestant is someone who will, quite literally, blow your mind...I give you Heather Douglas, aka Moondragon! The daughter of Drax the Destroyer and a member of groups including the Avengers, Defenders, and the 21st Century Guardians of the Galaxy, Moondragon is one of the most powerful human-born telepaths. She has repeatedly demonstrated mental psionic energy usage far in advance of all human and human mutants including that of the world-renowned telepaths such as Professor Charles Xavier, Emma Frost, and Jean Grey (without the enhancement of the Phoenix Force). Douglas' most notable psychic actions were the complete mental enslavement of an entire warring planet of people, psionically stalemating the sorcerer supreme Doctor Strange for an extended period of time, and mentally killing a clone of Thanos endowed with psionic powers greater than Professor X, as well as being able to pierce the mental barriers of Galactus and even enabling Thanos to almost overwhelm the devourer's mind when channeling her powers - All feats beyond that of Xavier and most other noted human and human mutant psychics. Unlike human mutants such as Xavier whose powers operate as part of their biology, all of Douglas' mental powers originate from her supreme level of mental discipline, hence her concentration and ability to focus on the accomplishment of that task. All of Douglas' mental processes are largely maintained subconsciously as the power and its effects will continue if she is rendered unconscious or falls asleep as done when her control of an entire planet's populace. But she must always consciously initiate the process for it to be done. I'd say Archanfel would do well not to try playing any head games with Miss Douglas. How about you?

I've been batting this next challenger around for a bit, but I figured, "Yeah, maybe she might have a chance." I present to you...Faiza Hussain! A member of MI:13 and the Champions of Europe, Faiza has the power to disassemble anything, including people, into their component parts, manipulate them on an atomic level, and reassemble them. While taking people apart, she can take their limbs, organs, and bones apart, then reassemble them, putting them back together, and then restore it to its original condition. This is possible due to the fact that she innately knows the composition of anything she affects with her powers. Faiza is also capable of focusing on certain areas in particular. She can affect multiple targets simultaneously, but the more objects she attempts to manipulate, the greater the concentration is required from her. When using her powers on living beings, the target is rendered immobile until she allows them to move. Faiza finds it easier to affect shape-shifters, such as Skrulls, but more difficult to affect magic-based beings. Faiza can also immobilize multiple people at once, without disassembling them. The effect lasts until Faiza wills otherwise. In addition, Faiza is the current wielder of the blade Excalibur, which is irtually indestructible, and sheathed in a magical scabbard that prevents its holder from losing any blood, regardless of his or her wounds. In addition, the sword is capable of killing anyone, including gods, immortals, and spirits. Methinks Archanfel better have very good medical coverage if he encountered Faiza.

Well, the Phoenix is known for rising from the ashes too.

Been batting around this next challenger for awhile, but then I thought, "Yeah, definite contender against Archanfel." I give you...Jean Grey! One of the X-Men's original five, Jean has been stated to be an Omega-Level mutant. That is, she is a mutant with most powerful genetic potential of their mutant abilities. By birth, Jean is among the most powerful telepaths, telekinetics and psions. She is also one with the Phoenix Force, and while acting as its avatar she is one of the most powerful Abstract Entities in the Earth-616 universe. She also was considered to be a "Mutant Alpha-Psi", an Alpha Level Telepath, an Alpha-Level Mutant and Psionic of Highest Order. As Dark Phoenix, she has been stated to be a global threat and to manifest cosmic-level powers. According to Prosh, her Comparative Mutagenic Power Register was of 8.9. While accessing the Phoenix Force, Jean's empathy, telepathy, and telekinesis are greatly magnified and heightened to an incredible degree. The Phoenix Force also allows her to travel unaided through the vacuum of space, cross interstellar distances faster than the speed of light, and to manifest flames while using her powers, often in the shape of a fiery raptor. Although the full scale of Jean's powers currently are unclear, she stated that the Phoenix Force had been holding her back while she was its host. On many occasions, Jean has shown to have incredibly strong empathic powers that enable her to control, manipulate and alter the feelings, sensations, and emotions of others. It is because of her empathic abilities that the almighty Phoenix Force had chosen her as its rightful human host. In other versions, she had not been shown possessing any types of empathic abilities except for telekinesis and telepathy. Jean is able to read thoughts, project and broadcast her own thoughts, as well as affect the minds of humans and animals with higher order intelligence (such as dolphins, ravens or dogs). The range at which she can perform these feats is greatly increased while she is accessing the Phoenix Force. After her absorption of Psylocke's specialized telepathy, Jean's own telepathic skill and power was increased to a level at which she could create psionic firebirds capable of inflicting mental and physical damage. However this enhanced telepathy came at the temporary cost of her telekinesis. Projection of psychokinetic energy enables her to levitate objects, propel or manipulate them however she wishes, lift herself and move through the air to simulate flight, stimulate individual molecules to create heat, generate concussive force as blasts or bursts, and create protective shields. While she has access to the Phoenix Force, she is able to manipulate matter and energy on a sub-atomic scale using her telekinesis. She can even change her Phoenix clothes into a set of street clothes, and lift multiple heavy objects at once without having any difficulties. This is just a summation of her abilities, but the bottom line is, Archanfel would do well NOT to incur the Phoenix's wrath.

Took a look at Zenith over on ReadComicOnline, definitely looked pretty trippy (in a good way, though). And yeah, Peter St. John definitely seems like he could take on Archanfel. Anyone who could take on Lovecraftian entities definitely has something good going for him. Anyways, I've been thinking quite a bit about this next contender, and I figure...yeah, she might be able to stand against Archanfel. I give you, the Mistress of the Elements herself, Ororo Munroe aka STORM! A longtime member of the X-Men, Ororo possesses the mutant ability to control the weather and the atmosphere, and is widely considered to be one of the most powerful mutants on the planet. One of the primary sources of her powers is the Earth's electromagnetic field. Storm possesses the psionic ability to control all forms of Weather Manipulation. She has been able to control both Earthly and extraterrestrial ecosystems on several occasions. She can modify the temperature of the environment, control all forms of precipitation, humidity and moisture (at a molecular level), generate lightning and other electromagnetic atmospheric phenomena, and has demonstrated excellent control over atmospheric pressure. She can incite all forms of meteorological tempests, such as tornadoes, thunderstorms, blizzards, and hurricanes, as well as mist. She can dissipate such weather to form clear skies as well. Her precise control over the atmosphere allows her to create special weather effects. She can create precipitation at higher or lower altitudes than normal, make whirlwinds travel pointing lengthwise in any direction, channel ambient electromagnetism through her body to generate electric blasts, flash freeze objects and people, coalesce atmospheric pollutants into acid rain or toxic fog, and, along with her natural ability of flight, summon wind currents strong enough to support her weight to elevate herself (or others) to fly at high altitudes and speeds. Her control is so great that she can even manipulate the air in a person's lungs. She can also control the pressure inside the human inner ear, an ability she uses to cause intense pain. She can also bend light using moisture in the air and her manipulation of mist and fog to appear partially transparent, and in some cases, nearly invisible. Storm has also demonstrated the ability to control natural forces that include storms, solar wind, ocean currents, and electromagnetic energy. She has demonstrated the ability to separate water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen via electrolysis, allowing her to breathe underwater. While in outer space, she is able to affect and manipulate the interstellar and intergalactic mediums. Storm can alter her visual perceptions so as to see the universe in terms of energy patterns, detecting the flow of kinetic, thermal and electromagnetic energy behind weather phenomena and can bend this energy to her will. Going on this, I think Archanfel would do well to check the forecast before he tries to take on Storm. What do you think?

Before I introduce our next contestant, let me ask you a question...do you believe in Magik? The sister of Piotr Rasputin, aka Colossus, Illyana Nikolievna Rasputina possesses a number of formidable abilities. Among them are her ability to mentally control "stepping discs", which allowed herself and others to teleport across interstellar distances or through time. The discs are part of a dimension known as Limbo. This dimension is specifically known alternately as "Demonic Limbo", "Limbo-Belasco", or "Otherplace". However, when Illyana mentally calls for a Stepping Disc she must use Limbo as a midway point before she can teleport to an alternate location. In addition, Magik is the sorceress supreme of her Limbo dimension. The extent of her powers there are all powerful and powerful demons of Limbo did not dare challenge her. Magik had access to Belasco's store of mystical knowledge. Magik's sorcery was a unique mix of black magic, that she learned from Belasco, and white magic, that she was taught by an alternative-reality Ororo Munroe. She has also received mystic tutelage under Doctor Strange, having learned how to use the Eye of Agamotto, as well as spells from the Book of Vishanti. Illyana also possesses impenetrable psionic shields, most likely a result of the time she spent in Limbo and the effects of her partially demonic soul. As such even powerful telepaths such as Charles Xavier, David Haller, Emma Frost and Rachel Summers could not mentally read Illyana's thoughts or sense her psionically. Going on this alone, I would think even Archanfel should be cautious if he were to challenge Magik. What do you think?

This next contestant could prove to be a real doozy...Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch! Wanda's main power is her superhuman ability to manipulate and warp reality at will, granted to her by the High Evolutionary's experiments and amplified by the demon Chthon. She accomplishes this by manipulating a force known as Chaos Magic. Her "hexes" were, by extension, simple, indirect manifestations of this magic, destabilizing probabilities by affecting energy fields and matter, ultimately inducing chaos. While acting as a conduit for the planet's Life Force, Wanda's powers are further amplified and not always under her conscious control; their effects persisted even after Dr. Strange's Eye of Agamotto shut down her mind. Even the combined efforts of the Sorcerer Supreme and Earth's most formidable psychic mind were unable to fully inhibit such effects for long. In addition, Wanda is actually considered the very Nexus Being of the central universe of Earth-616, serving as the entity that personifies the realm's character and serves as the focal point or anchor of that reality (Uatu described a nexus-being as one of the "rare individual entities with the power to affect probabilities-and thus the future"), making her along the scales of class and power as the other known nexus-beings. I think Ms. Maximoff would really be able to give Archanfel a run for his money. What say you?

Okay, time to reach across the pond this round. Coming in from Marvel's UK Branch, we have Shevaun Haldane, aka Dark Angel! The daughter of one of the board members of the organization Mys-Tech, Shevaun was approached by a being called the Angel of Death, which imparted upon her a fragment of the universe, granting her enormous power and knowledge. She also played a key role in the "Mys-Tech Wars," absorbing the UnEarth to prevent the planet's destruction and, along with Dr. Strange, Professor X, Albion, Death's Head II and Motormouth, were able to foil Mys-Tech's plans for Earth. Shevaun is bonded to her costume, which is part of the fabric of the universe. This is turn enables her to employ various types of energy blasts, as well as the ability to detect energies. In addition, she can open a portal to the "void", which enables her to absorb energies and have attacks pass through her body. Shevaun can fly via graviton manipulation, and possesses extrasensory abilities which are enhanced via her goggles. Professor X has even stated that she may be one of the most powerful beings in existence. So...anyone here think Miss Haldane could take on Archanfel?

Let's change this up a bit...our next contestant hails from the alien race known as the Technarchy...WARLOCK! A techno-organic being, Warlock''s form constantly changes shape, and is capable of surviving the rigors of space. In addition, he is capable of injecting a techno-organic virus into any object, converting it into a techno-organic form like himself, which he can then absorb. Additionally, he can absorb pure energy. After being infused with nano-technology, Warlock can repair his body as it is damaged, allowing him to "upgrade," adapting to any given situation. The nanotech also enhances Warlock's shapeshifting abilities, allowing him to mimic forms and weapons. So...who thinks 'Lock can give Archanfel a hard time?

Well, I'm bored, and I thought I'd start this up again. Here's my next contestant, hailing from the universe of Mortal Kombat...RAIDEN! The eternal God of Thunder, protector of Earthrealm, and one of the most powerful characters in the MK franchise. Who thinks he could hold his own against Archanfel?
