LOL on what is written on the opening credits. This really caught my eye (translated): Well, I never really cared for Spongebob, but this is a funny iteration.

I've been finally catching up on the 2005 series and at long last saw the '86 OVA, haven't even started the manga binge yet. The Steve Wang movies were my first real exposure to the whole Guyververse, and I still wish Steve and David had been able to wrap things up with a third movie. I'm curious as to what concept ideas they had. But yeah, I was surprised to find out there still is not an ending after 35 years.

Considering the coma in most of my fandoms(Metroid being my other big one, and that's been in quite a bit of a slump, not as bad as Guyver, though, it seems), a quiet place here doesn't surprise me. I recently started work on an AU guyver fic I'm posting at ff.n and Ao3, so...never hurts to try and see what else is going on. Even if the manga is in hiatus. Again.

I think he just pushed his experiment too far, beyond even his own knowledge and suffered the consequences. Up until Aptom, they had never had a zoanoid like him developed. Hence his lost number status. Even the best of genius can succumb to error... especially since we all know Dr. Balcus has a bit of an ego from living so long.

It just sucks that no one can ask Takaya what and why since that is seen as disrespectful for his culture. I find that frustrating. Still, I think it's rude that he didn't make an announcement and give an excuse. It's almost as bad as standing up a girl you asked out on a date. The point is, he could have said anything he wanted, it doesn't have to be about his personal life. At least than we'd know not to expect anything. But since it's taken this long and what ever chapters he was working on is in production hell. It's a bit obvious now.
