Prometheus Guyver

Creator/Engineer Hybrid Guyver

"At the dawn of creation the gods arrived on earth. Now we shall know their awful legacy and how it affects mankind."

A mysterious and enigmatic being, not much is known about Prometheus and since he views it as "irrelevant data" he never talk about his passed.

His real name is Adolphus Strigoi. He was a scientist who worked at Cronos Japan in his universe. It was thanks to him that the Japanese branch made so much headway with zoanoid development. However when all  his hard work was passed of as meaningless by Guyot  and the hyper zoanoids revealed something in Adolphus's mind snapped. However not because is work being downplayed but because he had been left ignorant of even greater levels of scientific discovery and had his time wasted on less important work. Well he'd show them who the worthless ones were. He stole the guyver unit that had be successfully recovered at the time and became that universe's Guyver II (in this universe the unit was undamaged). He fled Cronos and spent the next few years on the run while simultaneously attacking Cronos facilities and stealing their research data. These raidse were conducted in part so that he could find data and samples of the intelligence enhancing virus that all Cronos scientists are infected with so he could ether cure himself or alleviate the side effects which his guyver was resisting but not removing.

As time passed a dark obsession began to grow in his mind. Realising he could not fulfill his ambitions on earth he decided to leave it. He then traveled to Relic Point (which had remained intact in this universe) and snuck into the lower levels after creating a distraction, the distraction being a rampaging Booster Creature spawned from his own severed arm. He then gained access to the relic ship and left earth. Due to a fault with the ship wormhole generators the ship ended up traveling to another universe (although he was unaware of it at the time). Some time after arriving his ship detected an unknown signal coming from a nearby planet  and it was on this planet that he had his first encounter with relics of the Engineers and the Xenomorphs. It was from this point that the started walking the path that would lead him to becoming Prometheus.

Traveling through space and across dimensions, his experiments have brought global extinction to countless worlds. His spaceship, a hybrid of Creator and Engineer technology, is powerful enough to destroy entire fleets and within it grows a brood of Xenomorphs unlike any that have been seen befor. Enhanced and optimised with the technology of two great races (along with materials found in other universes) these creatures can wipe out entire populations in a matter of hours. These experiments normally involve the creation, testing and improvement of bio-weapons. Outside of his research nothing much interests him although he admits to enjoying testing his strength against others. The only other thing that seems to interest him is learning more about the Creators and Engineers.

Prometheus's  goal is the pursuit of knowledge. He has no grand schemes to conquer worlds or enslave others. He's the pure embodiment of science without morality. If he wants to see how deadly a virus is he'll use a city as his petri dish because that's the most effective way to see how it spreads. Knowing and improving are all that drive him. The fact that he has killed countless numbers of people doesn't mean anything to him, they were just a necessary part of his experiment that served their purpose. All the power he has is used to give him the freedom to do as he pleases. However the reason for this pursuit of knowledge is because what stared out as simple self-aggrandizement has become a very dark, twisted obsession that has only grown during his years of isolation. The desire to become more, to transcend limitations and weakness, to not only stand shoulder to shoulder with the gods of humanity but to surpass them as well as those who have (in his eyes) walked the same path as himself (the other guyvers). He has been consumed by a form of megalomania.

Without his armour equipped Prometheus is a 5'9ft talk human male with olive skin, black hair and brown eyes. Due to genetic modification conducted on himself Prometheus has physical attributes on pare with those a standard human based guyver and with a healing factor to match. He also does not appear to age. After gaining access to the technology aboard the Creator ship he was able to create a superior version of the intelligence enhancing virus that further boosted his mental faculties but without side effects. This combined with his enhanced lifespan have allowed him to learn and master things that would be impossible for a normal human. He has expert knowledge in most fields of biology and genetics as well  as being the foremost expert on Creators and Engineers. He has also proven to be a master tactician on the battlefield. In combat he uses a self taught fighting style which is difficult to predict.

His hybrid armour is summoned by the word "Biosyn". When activated Prometheus stands 7'0 ft tall and weighs 500 kg. The armour's physical attributes are five times greater than that of standard guyver armour which when coupled with his already enhanced physiology make Prometheus a force to be reckoned with. The armors weapon systems have been similarly upgraded and due to the hosts enhanced physiology they are significantly more powerful.

Weapons/Abilities

Head Beam - A multi-directional laser mounted just above the Control Metal that utilizes excess body heat. Upgrades: The beam of the hybrid armour is blue and is hot enough melt Boron Nitride in seconds. The laser can now be maintained for longer periods of time allowing it to act as a cutting beam or to melt a specific target. The beam width of the laser can also be thickened to allow it to inflict more serious wounds. Along with the laser it now has an inbuilt holographic projector.

High Frequency Blades - Blades that extend from the forearms. These blades vibrate at an extremely high frequency allowing them to cut through almost any material with ease. Upgrades: The sonic emissions from the blade can temporarily be increased so that as when the blade is swung it releases a slashing arc of sound that travels a short distance and cuts what it comes into contact with. This "High Frequency Slash" has a wide arc but lacks the full cutting power of the blade.

Vibration Globe - A single metallic orbs located between Prometheus's eyes that produces sound waves. It is primarily used for verbal communication but it can also unleash a highly destructive sound wave known as the "Sonic Buster". Upgrade:  It can now be used for voice mimicry and echolocation.

Gravity Control Orbs -  A pair black spheres as the waist that siphons gravitational energy from the "Booster Dimension". Two main uses include giving the ability to fly and to unleash destructive gravity attack called the "Pressure Cannon". It could also be used to block attacks like a small temporary shield. Upgrades: With the extra gravity control orb Prometheus is able to form a "Gravity Barrier" and use "Gravity Punch" like guyver gigantic. It also has access to two new attacks the "Gravity Kick" and "Pressure Bullets" an attack that was based on data collected about zoalord "Gravity Bullets".

Mega-Smasher -  Two high-power particle cannons contained beneath the chest armor. Upgrades: The armour can now regulate the energy output of Mega-Smasher allowing it to alter the beams strength. This ability was installed because if it is fired at maximum power Prometheus's  Mega-Smasher can easily destroy a planet.

Steriliser Blasters - A pair of black orbs, one on each palm, that unleash blasts energy (the energy type is unknown) that disintegrates all biological and technorganic material it come into contact with. Based on an Engineer weapon.

Acidic Blood - One of the many changes made to the host by the hybrid armour is that the hosts bodily fluids become highly acidic. These acids are powerful enough to eat through most metals in seconds.

Needle Claws - Its clawed fingertips have hollow canals in them  that are able to extract or inject biological material. This part of the upgrade acts as both a weapon and a scientific tool. In connection with this the armour can carry a payload of virus, venoms, toxins and mutagens however the armour only produces a select few of these naturally. It can also inject its own acidic fluids into a target body.

The Dark Control Metal - Located on the forehead, this metal button-like sphere regulates the armours systems and energy flow. It also acts as an instruction manual for the armour and can access Creator technology. When the armour is not activated the control metal maintains contact with the host threw a pair of tumor like grows on the hosts back. If the host ever suffers serious damage to the brain the Control Metal will enter a self-defence mode and attack anything perceived as a threat until the brain heals. If the Control Metal is removed from the host's body then the armour will go out of control and devour them. However the Control Metal always carries a sample of its host's DNA and will reconstruct their body. Upgrades: It can now run diagnostic scans on anything the armour absorbs through its claws, allowing it rapidly develop immunity to any new harmful biological matter (virus, mutagens, etc) or study a foes genetic coding to find weaknesses in it physiology. It can now access Engineer technology. Also the Control Metal has the ability to access the hive mind of the Xenomorphs. To do this Prometheus must first inject a special technorganic virus into the body of a Queen or more preferably a Queen Mother. This virus allows the Control Metal to link with, access and control the Queen's mind and by extension the hive mind. This can also be done with lesser members of the species but it will only work on on an individual level. This connection with the Xenomorphs is maintained even when the armour is deactivated through the link between the control metal and the growths on the hosts back. However the most interesting aspect of the Dark Control Metal is that it has been infused with Void Matter.  The Void is the place between realities, it is pure nothingness. The void erases everything that comes into contact with it but on ridiculously rare occasions an object will become part of the Void but not destroyed. When this happens it becomes Void Matter. While Void Matter exists it simultaneously doesn't. It can be seen and touched but it has no mass or energy. It is unaffected by any of the strong or weak forces and it cannot really be harmed by any one thing in creation. Even beings who can alter time and space cant affect it. Even being who can manipulate reality cannot manipulated it because it is not part of creation. It can only be damaged by attacks that are infused with multiple aspects of creation. While not comprised purely of void matter, his control metal is now very hard to damage (it is effectively indestructible by any conventional means) and because the void matter used was formed from biomechanical matter it can also regenerate if it ever is damaged.

Ultimate Eraser -  The Void Control Orb Prototype 01 (VCOP) on his chest can channels, generates and manipulates the very essence of the void, essentially pure nothingness. It is based on the technology of the guyver's Gravity Control Orb and is composed of Void Matter. When Prometheus activates it his body begins to generate an aura of nothingness. This power is called the Ultimate Eraser because "everything" that comes into contact with it is erased. This includes space, time and all sub-dimensions of that reality at that location. Prometheus can control and alter the size of this aura at will. Using this power causes Prometheus's body to take on aspects of Void Matter (i.e. has no mass or energy, is unaffected by any of the strong and weak forces etc). This power is very unstable and is only used as a last resort. Any mishandling of the it could cause irreparable damage to the fabric of reality (at which point reality can no longer repair itself and is at risk of total destruction) or even erase Prometheus himself. Prolonged use of this power will will have similar effects. Because of this Prometheus cannot move while using the the Ultimate Eraser because it could disrupt his control.

Other upgrades include a number of different vision modes, superior repertory system that allows the host to breath in a wide variety of environments as well as more efficiently, high resistance to intense heat, cold, electrical currents and most forms or radiation, immunity acids and the anti-guyver enzyme, the ability to render itself invisible (based on Yautja technology).

Prometheus's entire goal is the pursuit of knowledge. He has no grand schemes to conker worlds or enslave others. He's the pure embodiment of science without morality. If he wants to see how deadly a virus is he'll use a city as his petri dish because that's the most effective way to see how it spreads. If he wants to study the effects of gamma radiation he'll blast a town of suitably diverse people with gamma rays. Knowing and improving are all that drive him. The fact that he has killed countless numbers of people doesn't mean anything to him, they were just a necessary part of his experiment that served their purpose. All the power he has is used to give him the freedom to do as he pleases.

A very interesting question. Well the simplest story would be one of planetary invasion. He's developed  a new bio-weapon and needs combat data for it so he decides to use it against  that world's military defences or native creature. He may even have informed the world's inhabitants of his intentions so that he can see how his creations perform against battle ready opponents.  Or he can act in secret, observing the events that unfold from the shadows. This could also be done on a smaller scale for example an isolated colony or a small town. Depending on the type of test he's conducting he may construct an field base from which to conduct a more up close study. He would likely try not to get involved himself as that could corrupt the results of the experiment, he would only get involved if something here to interfere with his work. He doesn't care about the outcome of such events, either way he will have gathered valuable data that will aid his research. He will sometimes break his noninterference rule if certain circumstances arise. For example if a person with powers court his interest he would confront them in order to test himself against them and/or capture them for study. In such a situation he will normal stalk and analyse his target before acting as long as there is time to do so. With that in mind he could also do the reverse and travel to a planet purely to study an object/liform of interest.

He also wish to test and improve upon himself he will also conduct experiments where he will lead a planetary attack, challenge targets of interest to a dual or partake in a subject hunting expedition.

He is not above aiding or siding with parties who wish to use his scientific knowledge or weapons although getting his aid is hard. Since he's very  solitary and travels across all of space and other dimensions just finding him is can be almost impossible. As a result it is he who will approach others in need of his services. Since he has no real need of money, his price will normally be a request for materials for his research that can anything from a sample a virus, test subjects for his work or data on a specific subject. He also demands not interference in his work. Because of his immoral nature few people with moral will willingly work with him unless they have no choice. Interestingly once a bargain has been made he will never break his word unless something comes up that forces him to.

The only thing that will get him angry is wasting his time, interfering with his experiments or  braking a bargain. Empires had fallen and worlds left lifeless because of his wraith.

If you mean like a big achilles heel  then no. He's constantly striving to better himself.

However in spite all his power he is still a mortal being and can be killed in the right circumstance.

While he would never openly admit it, he considers all other Guyvers in all universes his foes. He secretly wish is to become the ultimate guyver and surpass all others. That is his true goal and ambition.

However he feels that he must both study the full natural evolution of the guyver and gain access to the full potential of the Creators and Engineers technology before he can achieve this goal. Because of this he did not create the hybrid armour until very recently for fear that it would taint his own evolution. This is perhaps his only real weakness, he's not as powerful as he could be.

So what we have here is a character whose background is a mystery (so, in practice, he has none), who is for all intents and purposes completely invincible, who doesn't do anything except torture and destroy, and whose goal consists of 'becoming even more invincible'.

And who will be the hero of his story? Because this guy is the villain of the piece.

He dose have a backstory, it just well as I was typing it my computer crashed an I could not be bothered to re-type it all then. So I kept left it as a mystery at the time (believe me I have no intention of pulling a Judas Traveler).

His real name is Adolphus Strigoi (yes my old name). He was a scientist who worked at Cronos Japan in his universe. It was thanks to him that the Japanese branch made so much headway with zoanoid development. He fled Cronos and spent the next few years on the run while simultaneously attacking Cronos facilities and stealing their research data. Realising he could not fulfill the dark ambitions growing in his mind on earth he decided to leave it. He then traveled to Relic Point (which had remained intact in this universe) and snuck into the lower levels after creating a distraction, the distraction being a rampaging Booster Creature spawned from his own severed arm (yes he cut of his own arm to do this). As for hero well, I kind of haven't gotten that far yet, Prometheus is my first true OC who grew from the humble idea of a hybrid guyver suit I dreamed up long ago.

You know I'm glad your asking me all this Salkafar. Its given me a lot to think about and helped me realise just how close Prometheus is to being a Gary Stu. That realisation actually made me laugh.

You call Prometheus Guyver an "extremely powerful character" and "invincible", I didnt think I was going that overboard. How powerful does he seem? How would you compare him to other heroes and villains

Posted

Well, just look at the read-up.

"his experiments have brought global extinction to countless worlds. His spaceship (...) is powerful enough to destroy entire fleets and within it grows a brood of Xenomorphs (...) these creatures can wipe out entire populations in a matter of hours."

That is pretty OP. Haven't the Engineers responded in any way? They have been at this game a good long time longer than he has.

Also... he seems extremely smart. Extremely. Mastering several different kinds of alien technology - on his own? Chronos scientists are infected with a virus that boosts their mental faculties, but it also kills them unless they are given frequent booster shots of an antidote that protects them from the side effects. While I can believe the Guyver would protect the host from that - would it also maintain the brain at the heightened levels?  ...Actually I think it might... or would the effect fade if the virus is flushed from the system?

Anyway... for one lone person to achieve all that, all in the name of his own self-aggrandizement... it seems too much, really.

Ok I've come up with a story (or at least the beginnings of one) and a hero.

The stories working title is Guyver: Dark Oddysee. The main character is a 20 year old woman named Danielle "Danny" Heart also known as Guyver Zeta. In her universe Archanfel died saving the earth and Cronos never came into existence. Instead the guyver units were acquired by the united nations. Danny acquired her unit by accident when the vehicle transporting the unit exploded  after it was attacked by a terrorist group. Danny found the unit when walking through the woods near her home. She was found by the government after she had bonded with the guyver and was forced into military service in order to protect her family. Although her official designation is Guyver III, she is mocking referred to as Zeta because she despite having training she is still very uncoordinated and has no sense for battle causing everyone to think of her as  useless and a "z-lister" compared to her squad mates Guyver I and II. Her life sucks but things get a whole lot worse when a dark alien ship appears in the sky. Danny alongside her squad mates and the united force try to fight but are easily swept aside by the black tide of alien monsters. She finds herself alone and about to be killed when suddenly the sea of monsters parts as their master descends from on high. The Prometheus Guyver. He has interrupted this part of the experiment because he did not expect to find other guyvers and wished to examine them himself. He then decides to tests Danny's abilities but upon seeing her fear promises that he will end the globe experiment if she can best him. He even goes so far as to offers not to use his armour for the fight. Danny tries her hardest but is brutally beaten by Prometheus. But just as it looks like she is about to be killed she is saved by a Scared Guyver who grabs Danny and using the portable wormhole device he carries takes them to the safety of another dimension. After she recovers from her wounds the Scared Guyver explains that he has been chasing Prometheus for 40 years after he destroyed Scared's world and experimented on him. He now travels from universe to universe desperately trying to find a way to beat his nemesis not only for revenge but for fear of what may happen after Prometheus ever achieves his goal. Despite the everything that's happened to her Danny decides to help Scared with his quest and avenge her world.

In hindsight yes...rather op indeed.

As for the Engineers they seem to be incredible inactive at this current time in the universe and maybe on the verge of extinction. If they have any functioning society at all they are keeping themselves very well hidden since in the Fire and Stone comic series it is shown that even the Predator Race have almost no knowledge of them or their whereabouts. That's why Prometheus is forced to search for them or any information to their whereabouts.

On the subject of his reasoning for his actions I should elaborate further. What stared out as simple self-aggrandizement has become a very dark, twisted obsession that has only grown during his years of isolation. The desire to become more, to transcend limitations and weakness, to not only stand shoulder to shoulder with the gods of humanity but to surpass them as well as those who have (in his eyes) walked the same path as himself (the other guyvers) He has been consumed by a form of megalomania.

As for his intelligence and the virus, that's something I should go into more detail on. While his guyver is able to help him resist the effects of the virus for a time it did not cure him. This is partly the reason why he  started raiding Cronos facilities. To find data and samples of the virus so he could ether cure himself or alleviate the side effects. Which he managed to do. After gaining access to the technology aboard the Relic he was able to create a superior version of the virus that further boosted his intelligence but without side effects. This combined with his enhanced lifespan have allowed him to learn and master things that would be impossible for a normal human.

It seems to me you have created a very passable supervillain there.

You mentioned the Yautya (aka the Hunters from the Predator franchise). Their technology is extremely advanced - they had interstellar space travel capabilities 10,000 years ago - and they are always looking for the perfect game to hunt. I hypothesize this is because, as a race, they attained such a high level of scientific advancement that all challenge in their individual lives was lost. Without want, warfare, natural threats or even time as an enemy, their spiritual lives withered. So, they voluntarily returned to a more primitive lifestyle: every Yautya male, upon reaching adulthood, has to venture out and risk his life in a hunt, and basically live like Bear Grylls. Those who do not, are viewed as inferior, as eunuchs, and are disdained by the women. (Again in my hypothesis, most Yautya females - who canonically are much bigger and stronger than the males - do not hunt, instead expressing themselves with art and science. A hunter female (A lesbian?) would be a terror indeed.) The braver and more honorable the man, the higher his position in society - a necessity in a post-scarcity society where material wealth has lost all meaning. That they risk death at the jaws of Xenomorphs or the hands of humans would be a reasonable price to pay to feel truly alive.

Since the Alien and Predator franchises have been officially linked and the Engineers came from the Alien series, my headcanon is that the Engineers were using the Xenomorphs as biological weapons to fight the Hunters, and had derived the transgenic black substance from Prometheus from them (After all, Xenomorphs are already depicted on murals in the Engineer vessel). They chose the Xenomorphs because they knew the Hunters considered them the most formidable game of all. The transgenic black substance seems to transform any life form that comes into contact with it into a variation of whatever kind of life the Xenomorphs are - an extremely deadly, aggressive version of the original organism.

In the end, they lost and those Engineers that survived all went into hibernation to escape detection. Earth, or rather humanity, was created as a 'back-up' - like a camouflaged race of Engineers with a whole bunch of epigenetic markers turned off to suppress some vital traits like giantism, super strength, longevity and enhanced intelligence, which is why we don't look like them very much despite having identical DNA (What a load of crap that was! In truth, I don't really like the movie Prometheus, but I have to try to make it work).

The Hunters discovered this anyway, but decided not to destroy humanity; their culture has a complex code of honor, which, among other things, means they don't kill helpless or non-aggressive prey. (They don't always keep their code, but then, why would they act any differently than humans in that regard?) Instead they sort of 'herded' humanity, creating primitive societies and a religion which involved sacrificing some lucky individuals to produce Xenomorphs which the Hunters then would hunt and kill as a rite of passage.

In any case, humanity is, cosmically speaking, a non-entity. The Xenomorphs, although ancient (According to 'The Destroying Angels', they predate Cambrian life) and spread to many worlds because of the actions of the Hunters, have no space-travel capability of their own and are therefore limited to the planets they already inhabit. The Hunters are the most powerful race on a local level, practically dominating life in the Galaxy (not to mean they populate all planets in it, only that they can go anywhere and everywhere and nobody can stop them; if they actually had worthwhile enemies, they would not breed hunters, but warriors).

(If you really want to be cute about it, you can have humanity invent an advanced computer system to coordinate their missile defenses - Skynet. Heh.)

Anyway... suddenly, into this pretty stable system where humans live on one world, Xenomorphs live on many but don't travel about, Engineers sleep on certain worlds and Hunters are basically everywhere, you inject something that has no precedent. A singular attack force that is the equal of any individual planet. And the only opposition it actually has - and of which it apparently is unaware - is a sort of extradimensional 'council of Guyvers'.

I am not so sure outright attacking Strigoi would be the way to go. Shocking him out of his isolation into the realization ultimate unassailable power is futile - because what does he actually want? Does he want to be untouchable? Seems to me he already is - might be a more fruitful endeavor. Appeal to his humanity? Explain to him what happened to the Hunters - how they attained the pinnacle of power as a race, only to trade it in for a return to a more primitive lifestyle? Show that he is basically becoming a Xenomorph himself - a thoughtless creature that is completely focused on survival and goes about it by destroying all other life?

Has he ever met Archanfel? Archanfel is what he is - incredibly powerful, biologically unique, commanding armies of living bio-weapons and completely alone.

Where do you want to take this?

Posted (edited)

The horrific fact of the matter is that he doesn't even know what he wants anymore. He's a being trapped in purgatory, on a never ending quest for power that has robbed him of his humanity and which he is incapable of escaping.

I never intended for him to be beaten by force, infact at one point in the story the heroes do find a way try to destroy him. But all this does is cause Prometheus to fuse with his ship's control metals becoming a Gigantic like entity, yet even this is not enough for him. The idea was that eventually Danny would come to the conclusion that trying to kill him is pointless, the only way to beat him is reach out and help him break out of the cycle he is trapped in.

While my head cannon of the aliens universe is different that's not a bad idea.

Ok so the basics of the intro are the same but the Scared Guyver is a member of the 'Council of Guyvers'. This council was in part formed due to Prometheus's actions (although there are other facts that brought about its creation as well). For his part Prometheus is either unaware of or indifferent to the existence of the Council. We learn that Prometheus has been traveling through the Guyver multiverse for a long time now, conducting his diabolical experiments as well as searching for the Creators. However it appears that his planes have changed and he is now returning to the universe that effectively spawned him. The Aliens Universe. It seems that he has decided to try and track down the Engineers instead. The Council of Guyvers creates a small task force (that includes Zeta and Scared) and send them to that universe to try and beat Prometheus to the punch. If they can find the Engineers first they may be able to assist them in finding a way to beat Prometheus. Meanwhile the inhabitants of aliens universe are ill prepared to face a foe of such magnitude, with both human and yautja worlds being decimated. Once they arrive the guyvers begin a mission that will take them across the universe where they will meet new allies (both human and yautja), face alien horrors and uncover long forgotten secrets as they search for "Paradise". And all the while the dark presence of Prometheus looms over the galaxy.

Prometheus has  met Archanfel a long time ago. This version of Archanfel was not long away from falling asleep forever and requested Prometheus's aid. Unfortunately at the time their was nothing he could do for him. So instead Archanfel requested that he stay and talk with him until the end. It had been the first time in a long while that Prometheus felt kinship with someone but he was, at the time, incapable of understanding why Archanfel felt so lonely and incomplete.

Here's another thought... the multiverse is theoretically infinite. How long before he runs into someone who had the same idea he had? And even if that doesn't happen, he has to take that possibility into account.

If a Prometheus Class Entity (PCE for short) is detected the Thanatos Protocol comes into play. When the protocol is active all current experiments are cesd. If the PCE is unaware of Prometheus or aware but unhostile they are to be studied (in secrecy if possible) and their level of advancement  accessed. If they are discovered to be inferior or equal then they are to be terminated but if they are found to be superior then they are to be left alone but monitored until Prometheus is able to surpass their level of advancement. Once this point is reached they will be terminated. If the PCE is hostile then defensive action is to be taken until their level of advancement accurately judged. If they are inferior or equal then they are to be terminated. In the event of a superior and aggressive PCE Prometheus will attempt an immediate withdrawal and avoid the PCE until things are more in his favor. If escape is impossible then the PCE is to be attacked with full force. In the face of imminent defeat or Prometheus death the ship will auto eject its black box (preferably through a wormhole) and then overload its wormhole generators which will result in the creation of a black hole which will prevent the PCE from gaining access to its technology and potentially destroy the PCE as well.

In the event of Prometheus death the Gaia Protocol come into play. When the Gaia Protocol becomes active one of the many clones he has hidden throughout the multiverse will be activated. These have access to all Prometheus's memories up to the point they were created, a copy of all his research up to that point and a small craft with wormhole generator technology. The clone's craft is programed to home in on the ship's black box so that it can be collected. The ship will always attempt to send the black box to a universe where a clone is located and it's the signal from the black box that awakens the clone. The retrieval of the black box will allow the clone to quickly advance to the level Prometheus was at before he died. If any of the clones bunkers are ever compromised their ship will overload its wormhole generators. While this system is not perfect, this was done on purpose. In the event that everything should go wrong there is always the possibility that a clone could activate and be able to carry on Prometheus's work.

Finally in the event of a clone activating and challenging Prometheus or two clones coming into conflict then the Cronos Protocol comes into play. When they meet Prometheus and the clones control metals will begin to resonate with each other. Prometheus's control metal gives off a special kind of resonation that will activate a hidden program in the clone's control metal that will cause it to take over and paralyze its hosts body. The clone will then be studied and terminated. None of the clones are awire of the protocol. If  Prometheus dies and a clone finds the black box they are made aware of the protocol, their control metal will be given the resonation ability and the hidden program deleted. In the event that the Cronos Protocol fails then the Thanatos Protocol comes into play.

If the black box is ever accessed by anyone then Prometheus or his clones (it has a DNA lock and runs several test before allowing itself to accessed) the all data will be destroyed starting with everything relating to Cronos Protocol.

Also Prometheus and his clones ships will not activate their Black Hole Contingency if they detect the PCE to be Prometheus and a clone.

How long did it take to set up a system that complex and comprehensive? And, evidently, it has always worked so far. Prometheus/Strigoi* is the first entity in the multiverse to attain a level of awareness that high?

This is looking pretty bleak. He must have had a lot of time to consider his position, yet continues to relentlessly pursue his meaningless, futile ends, regardless of the cost. And apparently opposing him, let alone stopping him, is virtually impossible. And he can travel anywhere - there is no escape.

To be blunt, it looks kind of like you painted yourself in a corner there, drama-wise. A powerful antagonist is good, but if he's so powerful that you need a Deus Ex Machina to make a happy ending possible you might have overdone it. And it's like he never makes critical mistakes, either. Even though he is merely one person with high-level human intelligence.

Even the Creators made mistakes. So did the Engineers. Risking mistakes is an integral part of Hunter culture. Humans make so many mistakes it might as well be our qualifying trait. And Xenomorphs don't make mistakes only because they can't really be said to make complex decisions. Can any combination of these cultures, no matter how purposeful, yield a being so perfect in his thinking he manages to take all the hurdles he must have had to face on his way to practical godhood?

* I am not so sure Prometheus is a good name for this guy. Prometheus was a good guy, after all, who was punished for the help he offered humanity and endured millennia of suffering.

Something that may help shed a little light on the mysteries around is his age. When he met Archanfel all those years ago Prometheus was effectively more than half Archanfel's age. While no accurate number can be come to by the Council of Guyvers he's age is estimated to be at least more then double that now. It took him almost a full lifetime to understand and fully master all the Creator and Engineer technology at disposal on that planet all those years ago. Since then he has encountered all manner of setbacks, mistakes and failures yet has somehow always managed to overcome or work round them in the end. Their have been times where he has effectively vanished  for decades or centuries at a time as he works out how to overcome a current problem. In his current state he has acquired so much experience and collected so much data that he now seems almost infallible in his actions and choices.

The Council of Guyvers will openly admit that a mere human having this much power and perfect thinking is bordering on impossible. They can only suggest that he is both a miracle and horror born of from the endless possibilities of the multiverse. At best his very existence could be explained as the cosmic dice falling in his favor too many times until eventually he became to powerful for them to effect him when chance turned against him. The fact that he has carried on down this path when virtually anyone else would have died or given up in the face of such incalculable odds would be considered lord-able if he had not become a monster to achieve it. I think you put it best yourself he has become almost like a xenomorph and that's how he's be able to do what he's done. No normal human could do what he's done or think like he does. His mind is constantly working and calculating towards his goals unclouded by distraction and fully absorbed by its work. He has the brain of a human and a supreme intellect but what actually goes on in his head could barely be described as human anymore.

The story of Prometheus is what inspired him to become a scientist when he was a child and at one time he had convinced himself he would use all he'd learned to help others. That's why he started calling himself that. But instead of become a beacon of knowledge and wisdom he has become an intellectual black hole that consumes all it comes into contact with. A perversion of his childhood dreams.

You are right though, its impossible to tell a traditional story with this kind of character. Hmmmm... Maybe I should work on something similar to the Phoenix Saga manga. A collection of separate stories that are connected by Prometheus, his actions and occasional other characters. The stories would go in no specific order, some are truly bleak tales while other have happier outcomes. I envision the ending being something like Hulk: The Last Titan.

I agree with you there. I meant to say similar in terms of some of its themes. I intend for the ending to have a better resolution to the story and the characters. And that won't be the only thing I'll draw inspiration from for the ending.

My advice would mirror what Salkafar has said. While it is tempting to make your main character uber powerful it actually limits the use of the character in your story. Simply put the more powerful the character is the less you can actually use it as he / she will simply overkill the opposite side of your story (whomever is the foe). You can easily end up in a situation were your main character ends up taking a more minor roll later in your fiction if you're trying to flesh it out and explain plot points but your character is killing off every other character so quickly the plot just disappears.

Saying that, if your intention is just to have your character stomp over everything and simply win it gets boring very fast. You should always find ways to screw over your character and give it weakness. e.g. One Punch Man wins so easily he's bored. But that is more satire than sci-fi but if your character isn't human and has human flaws it'll suck. Making him the Brainiac of Guyver / Halo sounds more like something you should do to a characters rival than to your main character.

No one can do anything by themselves, I'd personal split your development between 2 people, either brothers or best since childhood friends and give Prometheus to hero and have the Brainiac of the two everything else in terms of skill set who warps to be the "villain" of the story. He does crazy drenn like turn Chronos into a Creator / Engineer army and your hero has to stop him. You can fill Prometheus then with all sorts of rage because he would feel personally responsible for his friend / partner being what he is even if mentally he is the weaker of the two.
