Duke TOGO Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 They need a new home. Really trying to avoid Ebay. I live in London Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 looks like a good collection. If I had spare money I'd offer you something for the thin comics. Quote
Duke TOGO Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Make me a offer I know everyone on here are MAJOR Guyver fans So it will be going to a good home Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I can't make you a worthwhile offer. best I could do is £1 each and that's just insulting.you should wait for somebody who can offer you something respectful. Quote
Bio-Boosted Dude Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Whereabouts in London are you? I'm tight on money at the moment, these past couple weeks have been a doozey especially, but I have always been interested in getting the Viz versions of Guyver. Thing is, I'm looking at ebay, and have found these books for £30+. I can't afford that but if that is what these things are selling for I would not be willing to rob you of a better sale. I would have thought around ~£10ish each would be a fair price. At any rate, if you can't sell these by the end of the summer time, I might be interested. Quote
Duke TOGO Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) I'm based in Se London(near greenwich) £30+ each? woow Honestly i will sell to someone from here for a reasonable price(going to a fellow guyver fan) Edited August 15, 2014 by Duke TOGO Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Haha Are the comics rare? well they aren't in print any more. I don't know where I would look for them. since they were probably last printed well over ten years ago, many will have gotten lost or destroyed. I'd say they are certainly collectors item, though the valuation is difficult. If I had a decent amount of money I would prefer to offer you something like £2.50 each. I think I would feel like that is a fair offer. that's just me though. it really depends on your buyer and how you feel about them. As I said, I don't have the money so unfortunately you can't use my pricing as a guide. The market might not be there and I may well be overvaluing them. Quote
Duke TOGO Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 Ahh I see Well as i said as long as the price is decent I will let them go Quote
*Biggabertha Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 "Hey wow, eighteen Guyver manga, volumes eight to twenty-two and three English ones I've never seen - nice collection!" *scrolls down* *nearly spits out tea* "FORTY NINE BOOKS?!" Seeing as postage within the UK (with Royal Mail being as they are...) could hurt... would you be happy with £150 + postage? Quote
Duke TOGO Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 If you want them they are yours mate. I never even knew I had 49 lol Quote
*Biggabertha Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Yes! I would like/want them! Awesome - I don't think I can Private Message yet since I signed up today/a few hours ago but I assume you would accept PayPal? I think my PayPal is wired up as an echeque when I'm doing anything other than paying for goods or donating - so it may take a few days to clear. In the meantime, would you be able to get a delivery estimate/quote on them..? Twenty two japanese manga (or are they chinese..? They seem very honji/Kanji heavy on the cover) and three english books are fairly heavy - my English DragonBall collection is sixteen volumes and come to around five kilos. You may need to go with Parcelforce 48 rather than Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery. Quote
Duke TOGO Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 I can take PP or BT I will provide all my personal details also. I recon postage would be about £10-13 So not to bad I can post as soon as money clears and we have exchanged details Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Twenty two japanese manga (or are they chinese..? They seem very honji/Kanji heavy on the cover) The books are: an assortment of individual issues which comprised of roughly a chapter each, I assume they are up to volume 4 since that would make a clean run. Viz publications 5-7 original shonen captain japanese release 8-15 kadokawa japanese release 16-22 Quote
*Biggabertha Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Even pressing my nose against the screen, I couldn't make out the thin comics' numbers! Thanks, Yuki Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I would really love to get better pictures of these if that were even possible.we don't have any record of these on our merchandise page in the wiki. They were arranged in a weird format but I can't remember exactly. it was part 1 issue 1 then part 1 issue 2 etc. I think there were between 5 and 7 'issues' in each 'part' and the images on the covers were totally inappropriate. I don't think I ever had access to a whole set but I did have a whole lot of them back in '98 No idea where they went. memory is not that good. -------------------------------- -------------------------------- forget that... I am a big fat liar. http://www.japan-legend.com/wiki/index.php?title=Guyver:_Merchandise#English_manga_releases Quote
Duke TOGO Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 Lool I scanned them in for the site last year 1 Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 ah! you provided them!! I have a poor memory! Quote
*Biggabertha Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Just posting because I'm concerned about there being no response from Duke TOGO for a week (nor has he logged on since), both by this forum and by text message. I'll send an email to the paypal address that I sent the money to and wait a few more days. Hopefully, nothing major's happened, I don't really want to reverse the charges. Quote
*Biggabertha Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Another update: still no goods from Duke TOGO and no reply to the text message I sent yesterday. While any number of things could have happened, being assured delivery last week has fallen through, which sucks. If I don't hear anything from him today, I'll start proceedings to reverse the charges. (After what I said about being careful... sheesh, what a bad example..) Quote
Goose Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Whats the latest on these? im in London and would be interested. Quote

*Biggabertha Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Another update: It's been over a month since the last message I've gotten from Duke TOGO - despite several reassurances and "100% get it to you tomorrow" kind of responses, I've had absolutely nothing at all or even a message back from him. I understand things are difficult for him healthwise and that life always comes first but this has been an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. Quote
