I started rewatching the 2005 series again today and got to thinking.

 

What would happen if:

 

a) The host's head was severed when not bio-boosted?

 

and

 

b) When activating a Guyver unit, what would happen if the host was killed (let's say cut in half) while the 'tentacles' were still wrapping around him?

 

 

a) he/she would probably die instantly since the unit is not activated.

b)

probably the same thing that happened when agito activated gigantic when sho cut his leg during their fight, it would just attach the body back together and heal the damage.

In Scenario A: I wonder if the armor would have an automatic activation that would wrap around the head?

Granted, this happened before he transformed, but the Guyver unit healed Sho when Aptom impaled him with that claw thing that Enzyme IIs have.  But then again, the Guyver unit is sentient to a degree, and if this happened while the host was transforming into the armor, I wonder if such an attack would be successful, since the armor deploys a "sphere of destruction" that can destroy or damage anything within a few feet radius of the host.

I don't think so.

Well the CM might be able to keep the brain alive for a bit after a beheading, but the fact that it's been separated from the boosting organism on the back makes me wonder how it would be able to call the guyver from the boost dimension. Unless it can communicate with that organism telepathically, it's hard to see how the guyver would be able to save the host and itself.

I'm thinking a back up that calls the armor when the organism cannot detect the host's brain.

The human head can technically survive for a few second, but since it was severed from the body,where the organisms to summon the unit are, no way to communicate to the unit. On the other hand, we never had a situation where we had seen a host killed before activation. There is still a possibility that the Unit might auto activate on the remaining torso and gradually attempt to restore the brain. Of course, if that is not the case, then killing the host in it's base form  would be surprisingly easy if you can vaporize ore decapitate them instantly. 

The question here really, is how far is the Guyver's defense mechanisms designed.

We've seen a protective transformation barrier, memory retention, dna retention, regeneration, and the infamous self defense mode. Lot's of things to try and keep the host alive at all costs, not counting the weapons and sensors.
