Guest snow Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Here we can discuss Final Fantasy topics. Fan art. The games, and have discussions, and also talk about our favorite Final Fantasy games and what we loved about them. I really loved Final Fantasy X, and I enjoyed Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy XIII. What I loved about Final Fantasy X was the sphere grid system. It was easy and simple. You could go anywhere and not all characters were limited to one class. Both could all do magic and melee. The crystarium grid from FFXIII reminds me a lot of X's sphere grid. But the grind got really repetitive FInal Fantasy XIII towards the end with the final fight. http://youtu.be/oh3h_jlbV7c Quote
durendal Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 FFX ended as a cliff hanger to me. It made me sad that Yuna has to go through that in the end. I loved the song. Which is why I was excited when FFX-2 came out. I thought I'd finally be able to see the happy ending. But then the game sucked. Didn't even have the drive to finish the game, only for me to find out that you have to exert additional effort to get the greatest ending, which to me wasn't really that great an ending at all. 1 Quote
Guest snow Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I put over 212 hours into the game the first time I played it in 2003. For me the game was the door way for something new to me. Every time I play it, the experience is different each time. I liked FFVII, but VII didn't give me the best experience that X did. Quote
durendal Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I wish they had made this a cinematic cut scene instead of using the game sprites. Would have been much more epic if they did. Quote
Guest snow Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 It does look alot better and less pixel ed. Quote

Honestly, I did not like how x-2 sort of made the ending of ffx to be less powerful. I prefer to pretend FFX-2 didn't exist because th ending to FFX was so powerful. it makes me so upset whenever I watch it. I really feel for Yuna. I don't like that they might nullify that ending by making it so Tidus is not actually gone? Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I really wished Square Enix would do a remake on Final Fantasy VII. At least upgrade the graphics but leave the story and the game play as is. Just upgrade the look. The problem is Kitase of Square Enix said that had Final Fantasy XIII- Lightning Returns had gone beyond expectations. They would have done a reboot on Final Fantasy VII. Since it did terribly and It has been heavily implied towards the VII reboot. The deal is off the table now since the game got low ratings and people complained. Funny how everything is on Square Enix's terms isn't it? Citing fears that Square Enix would ruin a remake of Final Fantasy VII, Yoshinori Kitase, the original director of the game, does not care what company works on the remake as long as Square Enix is not involved. H222G981 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I have to yet wonder, what is up with Final Fantasy lately. I used to think it was great. Now I'm just disappointed. It seems past Final Fantasy games were really good. Like Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 10. But now these games don't seem like they should be anymore. Square is always trying to change things up and change isn't always good if you're always trying to change how things work in an RPG. Am I the only one unhappy with some of the FF games? I mean I've heard other people express disappointment in Final Fantasy 13. I personally liked the first FF13 game. But didn't care for the sequels that followed like FF 13-2 and Lightning Returns. Why the need to keep digging into this title for more money when Square could make a new Final Fantasy? We could have had Final Fantasy 16 or 17 by now ! My biggest question is " am I really going to like Final Fantasy 15?" It does seem more different than the previous games. Just a thought though. Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I wish Squenix would do a single player Final Fantasy based on Final Fantasy 14, or on Final Fantasy 14's setting. I've really disliked the move to more "Sci-fi" than actual "Fantasy" game. Steampunk/magic should be the highest form of technology... And only available to the badguys at best. Considering my favorite Final Fantasy is 4, you can see where my tastes in Final Fantasy come from. Quote
durendal Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 One name. Hironobu Sakaguchi. Since he left square, all the later final fantasy games failed to reach epic status. 1 Quote
