just looking that recently there have been new posts in the ''petition for guyver english manga thread''

and see that we are up o 144 posts....

however in the 5 years the thread has been up there have been 24,300 views...

even if we counted repeat viewings by memebers its still got to be at least 23000 unique hits maybe?

anyway i know a lot has changed over 5 years but all im thinking is if there is a way to let people sign this petition or a new one ( we could include who wants a second guyver tv series! and more BFC's or something like that) without them having to sign in or be a member?

i know it would need to distinguish individuals to avoid multiple signings by the same person etc. but surely thats possible nowadays??

bah, i dont know it was just an idea !!

I agree completely,

I think that more should be required by the fans is that the manga was weekly or fortnightly, to have 2 or 3 chapters each month, that's by the mangaka, even so the wait is killing me

With respect to a new animated series I think 2 movies that anbientaran from Volume 10 to Volume 16, would be good material and a second film covering of volume 17 to 25,

nowadays there are dedicated online petition sites.

change.org comes to mind immediately.

if we want to refresh this, we could set up a petition on that type of site and more people can access it. it can also be more easily syndicated through facebook.

I do want to consider though.... is it worth even keeping the petition going? do we really want some company like viz picking it up again, only to abandon it through lack of sales? The net result from something like that is that there would be a western publisher which would certainly make things more difficult for what guyver advocacy are doing?

I would certainly love the whole series released in hard copy form, but even chuangyi gave up after so many books.

when we were releasing the manga freely in english, it made sense, morally, to push for a western company to pick it up. but now we changed how we provide the translations, I feel that maybe it would be counter productive.

that is just my perspective though.

a petition represents public interest so it doesn't really matter what my view is, compared to the views of the majority of guyver fans.

Ryuki i think your opinion on the petition is sound. like i stated things were different 5 years ago.

i pointed out in  the legendary 'spectrum' thread that it would be unlikely and bitter sweet if a publisher did pick it up .. theres the whole starting from the beginning and then theres the amount of time it would take to catch up to recent chapters - thats if they even stuck at it that long!!

best thing would be for viz to pick it up and release the 'big' editions covering books 1-30 over a few years... but alas i dont think that will happen...

anyway as for anew petition for the manga i'll leave that to your discretion... but maybe a petition for a second guyver TV series?? ( or films like alkanfel009 suggetsed - good idea!)

or maybe just forget the whole thing !?!?  !:)

like i said it was just an idea i got when i looked at the watchcount!

Hardly.

Condiering a very low number of people know about this site, and the fact that has been over 5 years, and with known posting habits... I'd say it may be closer to 500 - 1000 unique hits AT BEST.

You have to imagine that when someone makes a post, a number of people watching the thread will go to it to find out what was posted. Then if someone replies to that post, again, more people show up to read the new post. Some people will visit the thread multiple times daily/weekly to see if someone replied to their specific post.

Currently, even if a quarter of the current members have a single view for every post in the thread, that still adds up to around 7500 views. And if we're talking over 5 years, and after a large purge of members... Well I hope you see the point.

After that many posts, and that many years, views don't mean anything unless the tracking system only logs one view per account. Which it doesn't.

And of course there is also the fact that just because someone views the thread, it doesn't mean the LIKE it, or WANT it.

If it had 10,000 unique positive POSTS, then yes maybe.

Not to mention, as it is, the American anime and manga industry is only a mere shadow of itself, only leaving room for popular genre's and digital distribution. And unfortunately, a slow, aging Sci-Fi horror comic isn't one of the major popular genre's these days.

5 years ago, it was a much better time for this kind of thing. Nowadays I think Takaya is extremely lucky that he's still able to make his series ( though even he seems to be changing his style by throwing in random chibi characters in a shot or two)

points taken.

cant say i would agree that there would be 23,000 repeat views though!! of what interest is there in looking at that topic if youve posted in it?? just to see someone wrote ''signed''??

anyway the reason that there arent  ''10,000'' unique signatures is that you have to sign in to do so... which is why i suggested what i did. yes its 5  years too late i  know but ive stated that and i just thought id point it out .

its all good, like i said - it was just an idea.
