Since the whole spectrum fiasco means that the scans aren't going to be posted on the site anymore, I would like to request that the collected volumes - once they've been compiled, I'm not particularly fussed about the individual chapters, since they're short enough that I can read them online without risking eyestrain and headaches - be available on request by email.

As a precaution, I would suggest that we reinstate the password used on the old download page: the one relating to what was in the actual volumes themselves, and where that was, so that the person asking for the file could prove that they had the actual volume, first.

If the only reason for your request to the Guyver Advocacy group to scanlate entire volumes of the Guyver manga series is to print them for your reading pleasure, one solution to your problem is to manually fill in the dialog and thought bubbles for each new chapter by hand, after blanking them out.  If you have basic knowledge of any graphics editing programs (i.e., Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Paint), you can typeset the manga pages for yourself.  As Guyver Advocacy has decided to discontinue their scanlation work on this manga series, downloading future manga chapters from the group for my own personal Guyver collection can no longer be done, leaving the option to scanlate the rest of the series, myself.  A blank-speech-bubbles version of the latest chapter had been made available on the Guyver Solution Web site for a few days before that it was replaced with the raw pages to the chapter.

This wouldn't work anymore, guyver manga scans are a lot more easier to access than they were back then.

Do people actually pay attention to the page numbers on those? Aren't the page numbers different, too?

they are on the monthly chapters though , they have nothing to do with the collected volumes...

why not do what ive done before ... get yourself the tankobon from japan, some tipex / 'whiteout' (i think thats what they call it in the US ????) and the advocacy script and a pen and hours of nothing else better to do and at the end of it you have a physical book in english!!

no more computer screens needed - woohoo! :)

The jury will never be completely out on these kinds of issues.

right now, there is no plan to do a scanlation. but if it turns out to be a better way to support takaya sensei and get us an english translated manga, then that is what will happen.

But Kenji, you need to keep in mind, these things take a lot of hard work. it is unreasonable for you to expect the guys who produce these things to waste hours of extra time, just so you can have the luxury of printing it out.

Don't you think that is a little bit self centred?

I thought there were a lot of people who enjoyed having the full volumes scanslated; they have more refined art, added pages, and all of that other great stuff that comes from Takaya-sensei redoing his work after he's already established where the story's going.

I've offered to work on the scans before - cleaning them, and taking out the original text so that the translations will fir in better - but, no one seems to have taken me up on that lately. I did some work in the past, before the upgrades, though.

you did and it is appreciated. if you were to do some scanlations for your own benefit I am sure some members would appreciate the ability to PM you and ask for a copy.

however, there is renewed discussion and there may be a better case for doing scanlations but with a stricter focus on presentation, watermarks etc.
