I started by making the more general section for 'kamen rider'

as we get more links on the front page, we can move these down into a more general section for whatever group it belngs to such as 'anime' or 'games' or even wider categories etc.

this can be an organic process.

we can just take it one step at a time.

anyone can change the featured pages now as it is contained on the editable links page

Main Page has taken some big changes most notable, i think is the links banner. any thughts on this are welcome.

I think it looks good, but I think the image links need to go with the rest of the design a bit mire...

That font's pretty sweet BTW.

And also, is it possible to make the "featured pages" parts and the "latest forum posts" slightly smaller? They overlap on my screen..

ah yes, I knew that might cause problems on some machines. it's troublesome.. I tink what i'll do is I'll try and shrink the forum posts part. I'll need to sift through the CSS file for that though... so I don't know exactly when i can get that done.

it's a shame we can't resize the images in the gallery tag.. or maybe it is possible and we just need to find out how.

I've worked on reducing the amount of information shown in the latest forum posts box.

this has reduced the size somewhat.

I can work on finding a way of reducing the size of the gallery images if necessary.

I think we need to change the introduction on this page.

it need to make soe references to Guyver and tokusatsu.

normal members can't edit this page due to hte need to lock it to make teh forum posts work.. but if we can write it up in this thread, i can edit teh page itself.

Do you like Anime? Maybe you have a thing for Godzilla? Perhaps you play a lot of Japanese Games? Maybe you just like that distinctive Japanese style. The culture of Japan is so unique that it has captivated billions of people worldwide. However, a lot of those people are missing out on many aspects of Japanese media because of stigma, lack of information or simply because there is no access to it. We hope to change that.

I never really did pay much attention to the main page as I usually head straight to the forums. But I think this would be a welcome thing for newcomers to the site. Especially now that Japan Legend started fansubbing. The reader mileage would increase by a percentage.

But I think working on the main page and the subsequent pages would require a lot of time and work since constant tweaking should be made to maintain the consistency with other pages.

as a result of new investigation,. thanks to durendal, the main page no longer needs to be locked to see the links in the header.

so now the main page does not need to be protected. it can be edited by anybody.

the 'editable links' section is unnecessary. should it be kept? or should the content of that be integrated into the main page?

I was actually thinking of revamping the page to give it more spice. Like adding more flashy tables and more features to give it a little more "oomph". I was inspired when I saw the index page of wikipedia.

I'd love to see what you have in mind.

Okay, take a look now. This is just the bare look as I still haven't thought about what to put there. I also think we should just put them in the same page, but let the "link" header remain for easy access. I also changed "link" into "access". Not sure what other term can be used. Feel free to change or revert.

Yes, I'd also like to include images as well, but I'm somewhat poor at that department. Arts is not one of my best virtues. I'm concentrating more on content. Once it's filled, it would be much easier to include nice and shiny images.

But I do have an idea of adding some small icons or thumbnails in the featured pages.

well images is my strong suit of course.

I still haven't given it much thought since i spent almost 3 hours on the bus today, climbed a mountain and then 3 hours back.

i'm a little pooped.

but I'd like to think about it tomorrow.

if you have any specific ideas for icons or thumbnails, please let me know. it'd be great to get a head start.
