Toku Warrior Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 (edited) Well, it's time we got this ball rolling. With KR W hitting Eps.35 this weekend coming up, it's about that time we start getting the more set sketchy details or even just the beginning details of the next Rider series. It seems this new one will be slightly following W in a small way. But instead of a 2 in 1 Rider, we get a Rider that has a suit made up of 3 sections linked with medals. I will begin posting images that I have been able to collect after some image scouring though I thank TVN, Ranger Talk and HJU for most of the images I was able to get. Now, for some info -The 2010 rider will change forms via medals. These forms will be represented with different groups of animals. There are 3 medals in each group changing the head, torso/arms, and legs of the rider. The medals are distinguised via lines. 1-lined medals change the head, 2-lined medals change the body/arms, and 3-lined medals change the feet.-One of his base forms, pictured above, is "Field Form", represented by Lion, Tiger and Cheetah -Insect Form is composed of a Stag Beetle, Mantis and Butterfly -A Bird Form is also available -Eyes are green -Belt has a signal display The rider's new belt. On one side is the "Medal Holder" which stores the Medals (6 medals can be stored at a time.) The other side of the belt has the "Medal Scanner". Its purpose is unknown, but if I had to guess, it's probably similar to Maximum Drive, where a medal is used to activate a finisher. The 3 corresponding Medals for each form seem to be inserted into the belt, and then the buckle is spun. Originally Posted by dukemon22 Concrete INFO:"Henshin Belt LinksGear" -comes with 6 Medals to start with: Hawk (Red) Tiger (Yellow) Hopper (Green) Lion (Yellow) Cheetah (Yellow) Finish (Black) Medals are stored in the MedalHolder (could be MedalFolder as well, we'll have to wait and see). The Finish Medal is scanned into the Medal Scanner to activate the finishing move. -Opposite to the Gaia Memories, the Medals themselves have no electronics. The belt has all the sounds, reading them from the medals installed. "Medalial Sword" -Resembles a mix of the RekkaDaiZantou and KingRouzer. Comes with 2 Medals- Stag (Green), and Mantis (Green). There's a Holder in the Blade, and Medals can be loaded in through there. When the medal is set, you can still see it from the outside of the blade. The Holder is opened/close via a lever, and there can be set up to 3 medals, corresponding with the rider's 3 modes- Sky Form, Field Form, Insect Form. A combo mode is in existence as well, Tri Form and the base form, which may be activated via the Black Finish Medal. Apparently, not too many sounds on the sword. "MedalFamila" -Another weapon that comes with the other two Red Medals, Eagle and Crow Originally Posted by dukemon22 -Name is Kamen Rider Links-There will be memory gadget type devices representing the rider's different animals (right now, an eagle, kuwagata, and lion) -Medals may also activate the bike Catalogue Pics should go out in a few days to some retailers, but we won't be getting a look at those until at least August. Toku Warrior Posted May 12, 2010 Author Posted May 12, 2010 And now for some images. The first set is belt images and sketches. Then head shots, then body shots. 3 posts worth. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 good work busy bee! thanks for collecting all that for us I really like what i see. does he remind anybody else of Aptom? specifically, the 3/4 full body shot with green head. of course the base form with interchangeable armour, is very much like den-o. which is certainly a good thing, I loved the way den-o worked. also, there are many bits of this that remind me of earlier riders, most notably agito. Toku Warrior Posted May 12, 2010 Author Posted May 12, 2010 I my post titled Set 3, the first pic, is anyone else reminded of Kamen Rider Leangle from KR Blade besides me? Ryuki, thanks. I spent about a good day or two making sure i had enough base set info. I'll be going over to HJU as I do get most of my info from there later in the week to get some pictures I may have missed. Of course, I wonder only five things with this series. 1 - How many Riders total? 2 - Songs and BGM. Who does the OP theme? How's the BGM tracks fit with the series and who's the composer? How many Character/ED themes will there be and who sings them? 3 - Forms. Will they go overboard like they did with Kuuga, Den-O and Kiva and give him more than 5 powerup forms? Too many forms can kill a Rider in character development, stats and overall power. 4 - The villains. how will they be designed? What's the organization called? Who's the leader? 5 - Pre-Decade. Will this series be like all pre-Decade series and exist in its own world or will it join W and the Showa Riders and stay within the same world. This is all up to Toei so I hope they don't screw it up. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 i would prefer if it was in our world. the real world. all kamen rider were not meant to be in any separate 'world' in the narrative sense, they just didn't take into account other series. only when dcd came around it made the separate worlds a 'narrative' thing. but i don't like it, I don't like the fact that fuuto is a fictional city. i can't relate to it if it's not a real city. I liked being able to relate to past series because they were based in tokyo a lot and I've been to tokyo so i felt a link to it. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted June 22, 2010 Author Posted June 22, 2010 (edited) Well, it's now been confirmed as true. Our new Rider will be called Kamen Rider O's. The symbol looks like OOO and when pronounced, it's romanized as Ozu. Official magazine scan. Edited June 22, 2010 by Toku Warrior Quote
odin Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 awesome, looks like we will see him fighting along side Double very soon then, can't wait Quote
TheAptomStrain Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 The only one I really like is the green design. We've had some kind of weird rider motifs (like a barcode, and the letter W). But I'm not too keen on a Rider based on a mammal. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 Sa, Omae no Tsumi o Kazoero! That is while we cross over into the next Rider series on September 5th. Quote
TheAptomStrain Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 (edited) The green one does remind me of Aptom, Ryuki. Specifically Aptom IV. The face is almost the exact same and the appendages coming from his forearms resemble the appendages coming out of Aptom IV's thighs. Also the overall insect-like appearance. *Jess♥ Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 ah yes, and anyway, toku warrior, I am innocent. so don't be breaking my gaia memory please. p.s. i'm not sure how many people listen to what he says in japanese and remember what it sounds like I actually had to physically translate that. it's interesting to see that guy in a photo. i think I'd like to see some detailing on his shoulder, it looks a bit dull to me. are they gonna be focusing more on special effects this time? I'm getting a bit tired of all these CG robots and giant creatures etc. Quote
Purgstall Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Y'know, when I first saw the title I thought, "Are they making a Kamen Rider cereal?". While that isn't the case (though it would be awesome), this new KR does look interesting. I'll have to keep my eye on it. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 i'm not sure how many people listen to what he says in japanese and remember what it sounds like I actually had to physically translate that. Heh, heh. I just matched it by sound. Then just went by what was always said in the subs. At least it's not as big a pain as trying to hear what Tsukasa was saying, remember that one? Quote

Toku Warrior Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Words from the man himself. (No, not Ozu). Ozu will scramble for the 3 types of Medals which allow him to transform. It is said that when the medals are found, the "Fukusuu no Ou" (The Plural King) will appear. This time, our hero is a man who has no dreams, no work, and no family. However, he does not attach importance to such things, and so he is not really unhappy. The enemy are 5 different animal groups, who have existed since an unknown time. Their bodies incomplete, they search for the Medals too to complete their form. These Kaijin feed off of human lust, and now, have begun physically attacking human beings as well. A mystery man, apparently from one of the 5 groups, is the one who gives our hero his belt. Ozu himself must collect these medals to gain new powers. More over, a mysterious corporation seems to be backing Ozu in his quest. However, their true intentions are unknown. It is in these mysterious conditions that our hero must fight. For the first time he will "feel alive" by fighting. *Kenji Murakami Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Well, I see I'm not the only one who's first thought upon seeing this was "Kamen Rider breakfast cereal? Huh?" Quote
*Jess♥ Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 why are they changing kamen rider into pantomime? what the hell is with that girl wearing a freaking pirates costume?!?! kamen rider used to be about actual people, not cartoon characters. i think i found a sneak preview of next years kamen rider cast... Quote
*Jess♥ Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I will say this.... that kuwagata head is befitting of kamen rider. the rest is complete shite. I'm very disappointed with the direction kamen rider is heading. does anybody share my outlook or have anything positive to add? to elaborate.. what i think contributes to good design for kamen rider... ryuki was the start of a good design idea. blade, faiz, and kabuto were top notch. den-o went a bit silly and weird, decade was glaringly odd yet in some ways was kinda cool. W is a bit simple and cheap.. this is just ... I can't even describe. it seems like they haven't even tried. it seems like they are just trying to copy den-o. for some reason they think that by copying some elements of a successful show, they can get a successful show. this is stupidity. you can't take elements of a good thing and copy them and get a good thing. you can't repeat success like that. the reason den-o was popular was its originality. new show needs new originality. edit: oh dear, i've got more. are you really prepared for this? it looks to me like they have dressed him in a full body leotard with shiny paper stuck on it. they they have gotten plain moulded plastic chest piece and shoulder pads, with hardly any shape to them and stuck shiny paper on it. then they got a plain black helmet with bug eyes on it and got a slightly curved piece of plastic and stuck that on the front and stuck some shiny paper on it. this is absolutel SHITE. that costume looks like it cost about £50. Quote
LordSpleach Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 For me the new design looks like a cheap design for a fanfic Kamen Rider from a person who can't draw. Though I do admit I like the Lion Head, and Gorilla arms, but other than that it sucks. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Well, I'll still give it the usual 5 episode run like i did the other Rider series. His Kuwagata Head is a really nice design and it reminds me a bit of Gatack. The Lion, Gorilla, Hopper combo mode does look more like a powerhouse form...kinda like Dogga Form for Kiva. Some of the other forms are kinda crappy though. I do love his bike design. Though, a vending machine for a side car....they are sorta trying to mimic Kaixa's bike a bit. Quote
TheAptomStrain Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) I wish the Kuwagata was the main suit. Kamen Riders need to be based on some sort of insect, to me. I agree with you Ryuki! Same with you Spleach. They're trying waaay too hard to make it look awesome, but instead it just looks corny. Edited July 1, 2010 by TheGatackStrain Quote
