*BananaKing Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Luffy originally said "a crew of 10 people that should do it." So we'll wait and see.... but what what what?! Go Kraken GO!!! Maybe the Kraken Surume will be the 10th member OR.... anyone think of maybe Laboon being the final crew member? Quote
odin Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I can see it now: -Usoop: Luufy there are a lot of ships surrounding us!! what do we do?! -Luffy: .......RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!! i just had to say that Quote
*V Guyver Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Usually, when it involves large sea life, Luffy eats it... Kind of a cool change for once. Still though, would of been funny to see Luffy and Zoro eating that Kraken. Quote
*BananaKing Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Hey guys, we're finally there, the place of dreams Fish-Man Island!!!! But wait who's at the gate? Hmmm could Arlong be back home? What about Jimbei? Something seems fishy down at fish-man island... Quote
odin Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) I have been wondering that myself if arlong has indeed returned, could he be stronger than before? it is possible. Edited December 11, 2010 by odin Quote
*BananaKing Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I doubt that he's stronger. I do remember arlong being on a boat to prison so I assume he's in prison. I'm sensing maybe some kind of uprising in fish-man island. Perhaps anger stirred out of whitebeard's death and as a result the fish-men have made some sort of mob-esc style intimidation factor to protect their island. Quote
*BananaKing Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I have this feeling, its arlong's sister Quote
Divine-Guyver Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Well... When I saw those teeth & silhouette, I thought it was Wapol. Wapol is the 'super-eat-everything-dude' from Chopper's Island. Quote
durendal Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Doesn't look like Wapol. Wapol is a kinda on the fat side. Based on the structure of it's neck, this person is very muscular. Quote
*BananaKing Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 No doubt its either a shark fish-man who knew arlong/maybe jimbei or a member of arlong's family. This might be what Jimbei wished to talk to Luffy about back on the boat to Marinefold if you all recall. He wanted to speak to Luffy about something semi urgent and there was a single panel with arlong's face on it. Still I wonder why fishman island has this sort of, mafia-esc thing going now? You think they were kind of forced to make it now that Whitebeard no longer "owns" fishman island? That would make the most sense, at least to me Quote
odin Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 i have no idea but i am interested to know who he really is, where is jimbei at and such. also my wishing of a merman being on the crew may not be so far off after all, they really do need a merman for situations like these and more, they where in a total disadvantage in the last 2 chapters, oh an hoorayyyyyyyy for sanji who got his wish granted to see mermaids, I shed manly tears like him when he saw them (and laughed too ) after all that he had been through he deserved to see them. Quote
*BananaKing Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I just thought it was great that he said he found the All Blue. I got some theory on this new enemy matter: What if after Whitebeard died, someone who either knew arlong or is a relative of arlong took over the fishmen pirates in Jimbei's absence and kicked Jimbei out of fishman island or is keeping him hostage/imprisoned? Now that Luffy has disrespected the new Fishman pirates, this new leader wants Luffy so he can kill him personally. One could blame whitebeard's death on Luffy since Luffy freed ace, which caused whitebeard to kinda separate himself from his crew and fight the marines/blackbeard to the death...just a theory Quote
durendal Posted December 20, 2010 Author Posted December 20, 2010 I don't think those who sided with Whitebeard would have any animosity against Luffy, since one Whitebeard considered Ace as his son, and Ace being the brother of Luffy, Whitebeard could consider him as a semi-step-son. Also, given the short time that they fought together in Marineford, it was witnessed that Whitebeard took an instant liking to Luffy. Everybody was even surprised how casual Luffy interacted with Whitebeard. I think it is most likely an uprising in fishmen island. Without a strong leader to keep the people in check, someone is bound to take up arms and conquer everything. Quote
*BananaKing Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 So you think Jimbei wasn't up to that challenge? I thought he was the leader of the fishman pirates long ago. Maybe he went into some sort of exile while he waited for luffy and somebody took control of the island in his absence Quote
durendal Posted December 20, 2010 Author Posted December 20, 2010 Jinbei may be looked upon as the leader, but he was imprisoned in Impel down. Who is to say that during his absence, there were already struggle of power. Besides, no matter how strong we think a character is, there is bound to be someone much more powerful. Who knows, that during the past years, Jinbei was officially taken down by the new mysterious leader. Why then wasn't he as well as hachi been able to meet the strawhats in Shabondy? Quote
*BananaKing Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Well it was mentioned that Hachi was still healing from protecting the Sunny with Duval before Kuma showed up so that should settle Hachi's disappearance, but Jimbei's absence is still a mystery. A part of me wants to think that maybe he's not really allowed back home...I don't know why, but I just have this feeling that he was kicked out of fishman island...perhaps luffy will mention him in the next chapter. Oberon Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Arlong's dad perhaps? It's not Arlong, the nose is all wrong. I want to know more about what's happened in the new world in the two years. At the time that things were left off we had Brownbeard attacking a former Whitebeard protected island and stuff like that happening. I'm sorry if this has been asked before but since the manga hasn't gone into it, that's what I'd like to know. Also how the marines have developed under their new Admiral and of course, what is Blackbeard doing? PS, yes I'm new - hello. Quote
*BananaKing Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Well hello there and welcome to "le grande one piece discussion." As plausible as it might be that this new leader might be a relative to Alrong, we can't rule out that he might unrelated to arlong. I have a cool feeling that he/she used to be Jimbei's former first mate when Jimbei lead the Sunny Pirates after Fisher Tiger. I know Jimbei and Arlong used to be equals but we don't know if that was status or power so I'm not sure if Arlong was Jimbei's former first mate. The spolier should be out soon so we'll at least probably see this guy's full body. Quote
Oberon Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 LOL, well in the end it's going to be a fishman who Luffy beats up The speculation on who it is, just leads back to the lack of information abotu what happened to the world in the two years. Quote
*BananaKing Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 All we know that changed was Sentamouru may now be a Vice Admiral of the Marines. It has yet to be confirmed if Aokiji took the open Fleet Admiral position or if it was given to someone else. We can guess it wasn't given to Akainu since last we saw him, he was trailing after Blackbeard. As for the double devil fruit user himself, he's made himself into quite the obstacle and threat to the marines, so no doubt he's constantly being hunted. Blackbeard's aspirations seem to be the same as Luffy's i.e become the Pirate King. However its looking to me more like he's trying to hunt down the Supernovas. Why else would he choose to attack Jewelry Bonnie? I wouldn't be surprised if we saw him attack Law, Kid, or Hawkins. Now I'd like to know just what Law and Kid are doing? Oda has gone out of his way to make these two Supernovas important to the Strawhats for some reason. Kid seems to be turning into a fierce rival with contrasting ideology to Luffy's while Law seems to be more of an undeclared ally. Quote
Oberon Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 All we know isn't that much, that's the point. We have a lot of speculation and what we think happened or is happening in the new world. On Kid and Law, I kind of view them as Luffy's Shiki and Whitebeard. Roger had Shiki as a rival with a completely opposite style and Whitebeard who while they competed were somewhat in tune with the other's ideals and goals. Kid and Law fit into those roles for Luffy rather well, in my opinion. Quote
durendal Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 Well, no new chapter this week so we'll have to wait until next week to find out who the boss is. I am intrigued about the theory of Law and Kidd being the other counter parts of Luffy to Rogers. It might also be possible that these supernovas would become the successor of the Yonkou, given enough time and opportunity. On a side note, I find the apperance of White Beard and Turn A Gundam having an uncanny resemblance. Quote
*BananaKing Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Bummer, jeez can't the holidays go any faster? I want to read more one piece I never thought of that before but they do have the same mustache...if you can call it a mustache for a gundam that is Quote
odin Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 you sure? the new one piece chapter just got out, a little later but it got out. Quote
