*Jess♥ Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 thanks for that matt. so.. 8th gate... i get the feeling we are going to get a suggestion of the 8th gate.. but i believe something to do with the 2 jinchuuriki's being there will somehow save us from losing one of our beloved characters. *V Guyver Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 you know, this is the third time Gai is fighting this guy. It's funny, they've hardly seen each other, but at this point you'd of normaly seen them become rivals or something. But no, this is mostly bussiness to them. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 well as a member of akatsuki, kisame is an enemy to all the ninja world. i think if there was some personal connection between the two, they would be considered rivals, but there is no personal interaction. just fighting. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Okay, I haven't really read the manga that much so I was wondering. How far apart is the current chapter of the manga from last weeks' anime episodes? I know that Naruto was still talking to that Pain guy who is also a former student of Pervy Sage and I know about Naruto's Sage Mode but that's the farthest I'm in at the moment with this series. I will admit that it's getting interesting and seeing Naruto going near Nine-Tails was really something else. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 it depends on how much of a spoiler you want. after this part there is gonna be a lot of political stuff. the bigwigs in konoha have some important matters to discuss. then we need to catch up with what sasuke is doing. sasuke has some thing to achieve. he will target a specific person that we may not have expected. this will turn into a rather big fight. something will be revealed about akatsuki and 'their' intentions. this will turn hte ninja world into turmoil and there will be talks. after that as naruto goes searching for sasuke, he eventually find sasuke while sasuke fights a influential figure. after that, naruto has some special training and we get an important flashback. naruto gets some powerful abilities and that brings us up to our present stage in the manga. I think that's pretty vague and avoids some major spoilers. if you want some detail, I can go into specifics. as for time frame, i think the anime has a lot lot go to catch up to where the manga currently is. let me backtrack an appropriate amount in the anime to give you an idea. go back past the attack on konoha, past naruto's training for sennin mode, past jiraiya's mission into amegakure, i think that is it roughly. would you guys agree? Toku Warrior Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 (edited) If I remember correctly, Sasuke finds, fights and beats his older brother, correct? So, episode-wise.....we got about another 30-40 episodes of anime just to catch up to the current manga chapter. Would I be right about this? Edited August 21, 2010 by Toku Warrior Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 you've already seen that though dude. that's way back in the anime. episode 138. we're up to 173. unless you haven't been watching the anime either. but episode wise... it is really hard to judge. there is a lot to get through though. I think they have gotten to a stage where they can do roughly 1 episode per chapter of the manga. they can put a lot of fillers into the content of each episode... like the way they added those two extra characters with konohamaru in that recent episode. Toku Warrior Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Yeah, I skipped a portion of Shippuuden (somewhere between Eps.128-158) cause I just lost interest in it. But then I noticed them saying that Eps.159 was really starting to help the series pick up more so I started it back up from there. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 22, 2010 Author Posted August 22, 2010 hmm, well i think you need to watch those missing eps or read the manga for that period. there could be something important you've missed. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 I'm thinking, naruto seems to be getting a bit dull? i think sometimes a series can get dull and it is a good idea to leave it for a while to let the episodes mount up and then hit it like a marathon. the manga is spoiling the anime i think. i have found that the more recent episodes of the anime have seemed very weak. but I think they seem weak because i already know the story and i am noticing the differences. although I have seen so far ahead now, I am going to know the story for quite a while ahead... so I would have to leave it for at least a year. durendal Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Yes, reading the manga actually does that to you. But in my case, the chasing Sasuke arc ruined the anime for me. Quote
durendal Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I accidentally chanced upon on youtube a series of videos chronicling the fight of Naruto and Pain. Did not realize the anime was already this far. I guess fillers are to be expected soon, unless of course, they are alreasy showing fillers now. I have to admit, I was certainly impressed with the animation and that there are several moments that were depicted powerfully in contrast to the manga, but I can still see the degradation of the animation quality in some episodes if not all. Too rubbery particularly on the actions scenes. I would have loved to watch this but the prolonging factor is still present in some scenes. Especially most evident in some cinematic scenes where they will show you a still scene for several seconds. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 yeah, they have come into a period of filler. for some messed up reason, they showed a filler episode just as naruto came upon nagato. then after that, they showed that sequence with naruto talking with nagato and then once that had finished, i.e. the end of the story arc, they have now had 2 fillers. i'm not sure if they are going to continue with this weeks episode or if this weeks is another filler. [taka] are in editing on it right now. Quote
Aether Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 not read any of the above ...im at NS ep 156 narutos just attained sage mode. cool. the new theme songs, i feel, are the poorest so far, their ok but nothing as great as usual anyway i just at the ending joke scene with Naruto and Neiji, where naruto was taking the piss out of Neiji for not being in the show for forever, and Neiji's like -leave off im on missions n stuff, why dont you give me my on show!!! dattebayo Quote
*Jess♥ Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 to elaborate on the filler situation.... what they're doing at the moment is covering less than half a chapter per episode and filling the rest with made-up crap from the past. it's pretty depressing because in one episode you had to skip through the shite to find the canon stuff that was placed at the end of the episode. here's the filler list - http://forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?t=501381 i'll put that in the first post as well. it's like butter spread over too much bread. Quote
durendal Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 OMG! They split one single chapter into three episodes? How sick is that? Quote
*Jess♥ Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 more like 5. they started on 450 back in ep175 it's pretty bad eh? they used naruto's meeting with inari to fuel an entire episode by giving a flashback to inari's childhood. like we really want to see that. if they're gonna make fillers i'd rather hey just make it pure filler, not spread out decent story and destroy any sense of pacing. Quote
*V Guyver Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 man, this production company is insane. Fillers everywehere, with badly done animation, and to top it off, they give they mesh it in with the main story line... thus giving it a nasty taste. I find myself skipping 40% of the episode so I can just get some idea about what the filler says and then see the rest of the main plot unfold. There are much better ways of delaying a plot then this... Quote
*Jess♥ Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 yeah at least with a filler episode you can skip the whole thing. a filler arc may be best because you can just skip the lot. like the sanbi arc. needing to skip 80% of an episode is lame. Quote
*V Guyver Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 through out the pain arc, we've had.... what 10 fillers so far? That's 10 out of some 20 episodes. Some of these fillers would be forgivable if some of the character designs and plot were okayed by Naruto's creator, but that isn't the case. You compare it to a filler done by Bleach, and it's usually a 100 times better. Not only does Bleach's creator contribute character designs, but he actualy okay's and gives inputs to plot arcs. To top it off, he sometimes even give the show's producers characters and plots that didn't make it into the manga because of time contraints. Granted this means he's on a tighter schedule because of the anime. But at the same time, it puts Naruto to shame. Pretty sad since I love Naruto way more then Bleach. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 actually, i only started reading the manga towards teh end of the pain arc. so there may be fillers that i wasn't aware of being fillers at the time. actually i think if you have not read the manga and do not know it is a filler, it isn't so bad. i thought about not reading the manga... but i couldn't do that! i want to know what happens edit: looking at that list for what would be the pain arc, i cannot see any eps that would be mostly filler because the numbers for canon content seems quite high. are you sure there was 10 eps of filler? or are you referring to 144-151 plus 170-171 ? Quote
*V Guyver Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I'm reffering the the flashbacks and episodes in the past. Almost all of it is filler, heck they even recycled Animation from actual episodes and just threw in extra animation from the current animation team, which is why you can tell differences in the art and animation at times. In other words, they recycled an entire episode from years back, with only an extra 4 minutes of animation and branded it new.... That just makes me want to pull my hairs out. And if you look at the old Naruto, you recall alll those episodes you skipped after the Naruto Sasuke fight? Those were over a hundred nonestop fillers. The only good thing about them was the comical nickname's we gave the villians, like that one Shinobi with an ubrella that floated about. We called him Mr. Mary Poppins. And that one kid always inside the backpack bag, we nicknamed him peabags. Out of all the shippuuden fillers, the only one I actualy got to enjoy was the one with the ice crystal user. Only because they actualy had good plot developments with most of the characters. Typcally a filler is mostly strewn with dumb characters, like that annoying kid who kept asking everyone where his home was. I swear to you, he's a clone of another 15 characters with a similar (lack of) personality from past naruto fillers. I despised the filler with other Tailed Beast Host, just badly done after the cooler filler we had before. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted October 17, 2010 Author Posted October 17, 2010 ah, you mean the most recent episodes? because the pain arc has finished now hasn't it? (ep175) because pain is well... pain is no longer a focus of the story. now it is ... i guess you could call it the danzo arc? Quote
*V Guyver Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Well, before the pain arc finished, they were still doing the same thing. Though currently I guess it could be called the Danzo arc... though we've barely even scratched that other then the meeting dealing with the Hokage dilemma. (Trying to avoid spoilers here) Quote
