durendal Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Looking into it more deeply, I don't think there is a need to create another thread. Since there are only the two of us who made those post and doesn't seem to be confined to that genre. Besides, my wuxia moment has passed since I've finished watching the aforementioned series. Also, at least we don't create more threads only to be ignored. Still looking for the flower shop with no roses by the way. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 look for a group called [love song] I'm still obtaining it though, so it is not the fastest source. it's not dead though, at least. Quote
odin Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 currently watching Kamen rider blade, not getting used to the pace, seems a bit slow but I'll see if it will keep me interested. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 yeah kamen rider blade always seemed to have a weird pace. I have tried to watch it about four times. never got past episode 7. Quote
LordSpleach Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 You should cause it does get better, but I do warn you that it does seem linger on specific riders a little too long IMO. Decided I want to watch Kiva, but downloading is taking a while. Quote
odin Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I'm doing my best to watch blade, I'm to episode 6 but frankly the story is all over the place and Blade's character although having an awesome costume does not interest me one bit up until now and that is a no-no for me, even Fourze got me more interested than blade personality wise, i will be watching this from time to time, definitely going to try either kuuga or agito a question about those too, are those like the heisei era or Black or RX ? are they in the same continuity? same protagonist? can i watch agito without watching kuuga? Quote
durendal Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Well, Agito makes references to Kuuga. I think in Agito it mentions that years has passed since the threat of the Unidentified life forms was over. So it may seem like they're in the same continuity. But story wise, I don't think they are interconnected. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 so i finished samurai high school. loved it. now i am almost finished nichijou so was in danger of not having an ongoing series. i tried to watch marumo... found it to be a little depressing in atmosphere. wasn't happy with nodame cantabile. i have a very particular taste in what i watch at the moment. I want things that have a positive atmos. so anyway.. I've watched the first episode of hotaru no hikari. i like it. you know, for some reason, i was so angry with the subs, but today, i really didn't mind them. i wonder what that means. does that mean i was an angry person before? or does it mean, my attitude towards language has simply changed. Quote
durendal Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Or possibly that with your increased awareness of the language, and constant nitpick of the translations, you began to stopped caring? There was a time I was infuriated with the mis-translations, but now I only laugh at them. Anyway, it was unfortunate the Nodame Cantabile was not up to your taste. I particularly find the pervert Stresemann and how he introduced himself as Milch Holstein (Milk Cow) to be very funny, and how his professional career is so opposite of his real character. Especially how he selected a band of misfits for his special orchestra. Will start to watch Agito soon as I have already acquired up to episode 43. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 i will keep it in my mind at least. i think i need to change my life situation before watching some shows. i think if i have somebody to watch it with, it will be a different matter entirely. Quote
Aether Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 changed my plans and i am now watching Dekaranger - its really quite good, its a complete different pace to Hurricanger which is ok as it sets them apart..the action is good, stories are good and its quite funny in places. episode 13 is my favourite so far, ****** is a real badass !!! and Garo is getting better, episode 7 was epic! as far as action goes i can't fault this series. Quote
odin Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Re-watching Ozu, I can't get enough of this series... going to start watching Uchuu Keiji Gavan, one of the first metal heroes, it looks interesting, I may stick with it also...apparently Gavan was a source for inspiration for making Robocop, that is pretty awesome. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 I heard that space sherriff gavan will be having a team up with goukaijer. Quote
odin Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 yea, a movie to be exact (I think) named Gokaiger vs Gavan, not that many details on it yet tho. Quote
Guest cb1 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 i saw couple eps of gokaiger navi the robot parrot is so cute Quote
durendal Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Gavan and Goakiger? Seriously? Gavan is like seriously old. I think he was the first of the Metal Heroes, the second being Sharivan and the third being Shaider. Which I would like to point out that Shaider became famous around here because of the blatant panty shots being showed by his partner, Annie. Quote
odin Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 the reason for their crossover is because it is their anniversary soon, and even if its old they could still do a lot of cool stuff with them if done right, i for one am looking forward to it. Quote
durendal Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Nice then. Found a few images and I've never seen Gavan that shiny before. Still, Ohba Kenji is kinda old. Like Grandpa old. I'm interested how they'll pull of multiple character for Ohba, since it was mentioned he will also be reprising his roles in Battle Fever J and Denziman. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I'm quite a way through hotaru no hikari now. it's a very nice series. really enjoying it. Quote
durendal Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I'm sure that title is as misleading as every last movies that used the vs heading. So it's probably going to be the 2 sides having a misunderstanding, fight a little, resolve their misunderstanding then team up to beat the bad guys. That's pretty much the same formula every vs movie has followed. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 finished watching hotaru no hikari. very good series, thanks for pushing me to watch it guys I really enjoyed the way it worked out. I could see the suggestion of that relationship, but it wasn't steamrollered in, it was subtle and it wasn't even shown obviously all the way through. that's one of the things I love about Japanese entertainment. they don't generally make stuff to obvious or clichéd. I had some others i was going to watch, but I didn't feel good about them. so now I am more or less up to date with kamen rider fourze, I want a good live action to watch. I've done a bit of looking around and have obtained "Zenkai Girl" and "Ikemen Desu Ne". all I can really say is I looked to see what series have been released, I looked at any clip i could find on youtube and judged how it made me feel. that's how i chose otomen and how i stayed with hotaru until i eventually got past my frustration with the subs. WATCHED : Keitai Sousakan 7 Mei-chan no Shitsuji Binbo Danshi Atashinchi no Danshi Densha Otoko Ohitorisama Zettai Kareshi Yama Onna Kabe Onna Otomen Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo Ikemen Paradise Abarenbo Mama Samurai High School Hotaru no Hikari Quote
Guest Warren Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Well i think these are good serials hack//Legend of the Twilight - Anime, 2003 hack//Roots - Anime, 2006 hack//Sign - Anime, 2002 Quote
*Jess♥ Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 you should post them in the anime section Quote
odin Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Finished watching Kiva, great series although a bit goofy at times, characters are interesting specially Otoya who is by far my favorite character in the series, my least favorite would be is Nago, i really hate him, and not like Kaixa who you love to hate, I just plain hate him, he tried to redeem himself but he is just too much of a plain character for me, all the other characters are great aside from him, definitely a good series to recommend to anybody who is starting out on the rider series.
