Bobby Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 No problems, dude. I had a really s----y day yesterday myself. Quote
Guest Goji Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I would like to apologize if I seemed angry yesterday as I was having a bit of bad day but I wasn't trying to insult you on purpose. And sometimes when I'm mad I tend to not to read everything and just skim through certain parts. Still a little bit mad today over yesterday but I've calmed down for the most part. It is my fault that I let any of my anger get to this website and let it blind me. So again, I apologize. Apology accepted, and in return I'd like to apologise for acting the way I did. After re-reading the discussion I realized that while you were posting in an impolite manner, my posts were the only ones which contained anger-driven statements. I don't hold grudges, so if you could remember that in this topic I'd like to chat, not argue pedantics, then we can start fresh. Okay? Hi, I'm Goji. Quote
Mirabilis Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Well, though it is highly unlikely (purgstall alrdy said why) I would love to see anoth GvKK film. THe only reason as to why is because when i was little Godzilla was my hero and i loved him and King Kong scared the everlivin out of me! I used to have nightmares about him and i always liked the oldeder film and the idea of Godzilla beating the crap out of Kong. Quote

Yea, I really wish we could get another KKvG film even though the likelihood is very low. Although they would have to buff up Kong again just to even out the playing field and they would probably have to give Godzilla a weakness again. That and the movie ended with a draw (Godzilla won the first fight, Kong won the second), they need a tie-breaker fight. C'mon Toho and Universal, give us another KKvG film! Quote
Mirabilis Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Yea, who came up with the idea to give Kong "Lightening Powers"? Quote
Bobby Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Someone who probably got zapped one too many times. Quote
LordSpleach Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Yea, who came up with the idea to give Kong "Lightening Powers"? Originally they where actually going to use Frankenstein's monster. Quote
Purgstall Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Originally they where actually going to use Frankenstein's monster. Wait, are you talking about the movie where King Kong fights a frankenstein-like monster made of animal parts or the movie where Godzilla fights Frankenstein which eventually became Frankenstein Conquers the World? Quote
LordSpleach Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 The way I heard it, it was Godzilla vs. Frankenstein's monster, but became Godzilla vs. King Kong. For some reason they kept lighting as a way to power King Kong which would obviously make more sense for Frankenstein's monster. Quote
Purgstall Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 The way I heard it, it was Godzilla vs. Frankenstein's monster, but became Godzilla vs. King Kong. For some reason they kept lighting as a way to power King Kong which would obviously make more sense for Frankenstein's monster. Well, If I remember Correctly Willis O'Brien (the guy who did the stopmotion effects for Kong as well as a few other movies, plus some other stuff) wrote a script for a Kong sequel King Kong vs Frankenstein (it was also called King Kong vs Prometheus to avoid getting sued by Universal, not sure if I spelled that name right) which the Frankenstein monster was suppose to be made of animal parts from what I've heard, not human parts. Obie took the script to several film companies but didn't get far. He gave the script to John Beck, who took the idea to some execs at Universal and a few other studios but was shown the door too. He finally started looking outside of the US and found Toho. They changed the script a few times and payed the rights for Kong, blah blah blah and thus KKvG was made. Toho also made another King Kong movie called King Kong Escapes, which features Mechanikong (Mecha King Kong basically) and Gorosaurus (the dinosaur that does the Kangaroo kicks). They did have an idea for another Kong movie which he would've fought Ebirah, but they switched Kong with Godzilla and it became Godzilla vs the Sea Monster or Ebirah, Horror of the Deep (I prefer Sea Monster, since it's shorter XD). Unfortunately, since it costed Toho a crapload of money to get Kong's rights, they had to work with a shorter budget in the Kong films as you can clearly see with the Kong suit being ugly as hell (pardon my french). Toho did infact make a Frankenstein (well, 2 actually) movie called Frankenstein Conquers the World, aka Frankenstein vs Baragon. This movie was Baragon's first appearance and the movie is well known for it's alternate ending. It had a sequel known as War of the Gargantuas, which some of Frankenstein's cells create two seperate organisms known as Sanda (Brown Gargantua) and Gaira (Green Gargantua). There is a reference to Frankenstein's alternate ending in War of the Gargantuas. War is one of my favorite Kaiju films and I highly recommend it to any fan. They did have an idea for a Godzilla vs Frankenstein film during this Universal/Toho schtick, but eventually they came up with KKvG and they were planning to do it in 1964 but they ended up doing Mothra vs Godzilla and Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster instead. Guest Riderman Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) Ah, Godzilla! I too have watched a some of it's movies. Though not by much, since all I could find on stores are fridgin' HK-subbed movies. But then, I guess no pror English subs for any of the Godzilla movies exist on P2P or Torrent... Tales Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 yeah it's pity. Godzilla despite it's just a big lizard stomping through Tokyo, has many deep meanings within its story and that's what attracted me to it when I was a kid. I think if there is a new Godzilla maybe they will visit N. Korea for a change? Quote

Some of them are mainly pure entertainment value like Godzilla vs Megalon, KKvG, GFW, etc. I think if there is a new Godzilla maybe they will visit N. Korea for a change? Why North Korea of all places? Edited July 27, 2009 by Purgstall Quote
Tales Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 hmm well N. Korea and its nuclear ambitions? It's all over the news isn't it. Quote
Purgstall Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 hmm well N. Korea and its nuclear ambitions? It's all over the news isn't it. True, but it could cause controversy. Godzilla vs King Ghidorah caused controversy when it showed US soldiers getting killed in WWII by the Godzillasaurus and some people thought it was anti-american. I don't think Toho would try something like that, especially with N. Korea. Kim Jong Il is probably itchin for a good reason to use those nuclear weapons. Quote
Mirabilis Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Oh man if that happened, we might be seeing multple Godzillas around the world!!! Quote
Purgstall Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Oh man if that happened, we might be seeing multple Godzillas around the world!!! Don't think that would make it a very entertaining movie, IMO. It would kinda suffer just like how GFW did. Each Godzilla would have to be killed or beaten rather easily. Quote
Purgstall Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Sorry for double posting, but something important maybe happening soon... http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/17061 Me, I've known about this for quite a while and there's some other info that they didn't mention. First off, this isn't a sequel to GINO (just wanted to make that clear), secondly this Godzilla is based on the Toho Godzilla, it will fight a monster (Who it is, we don't know yet) in it, and WETA is doing the SFX for the film. Tales Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Godzillas return might spark the seriousness in toku again! Quote
Bobby Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I'd like to see the Big G fight a giant skunk or a giant gecko. Quote
Purgstall Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Godzillas return might spark the seriousness in toku again! You mean the kaiju eiga genre. Ultraman (especially Ultraman) and other Toku heroes have been keeping Tokusatsu shows going on pretty well. It's the kaiju eiga genre that's been dying. @Bobby- I hate to burst your bubble, but I highly doubt that they're gonna do a skunk kaiju or a gecko kaiju. This movie is gonna be serious and who would take a skunk kaiju seriously? Chances are that they are either gonna get a license for one of the lesser known kaiju that the general populace doesn't know about that well or create a new monster. I mean, how many people (that are non-Godzilla fans) know about Godzilla kaiju like Destoroyah, Biollante, Battra, Megaguirus, etc.? They mainly know Godzilla, Mothra, Mechagodzilla, King Ghidorah, and maybe Rodan and Anguirus. Hell, we might even get Bagan for the opposing kaiju. If that does happen then I have to say that it's about damn time that they finally put him in a Godzilla movie. He was in like two scrapped projects and in the SNES game Super Godzilla. Maybe this will be his time to shine if this movie gets made. Quote
Tales Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Or perhaps the Biggest Kaiju Fight of the century is when Gamera goes up against Godzilla. Quote
Bobby Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Both Gamera & Godzilla are defenders of humanity. Gamera is powered by the hearts of children. Quote
Purgstall Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) Or perhaps the Biggest Kaiju Fight of the century is when Gamera goes up against Godzilla. Daiei owns the rights to Gamera, not Toho. Legendary studios has only been talking to Toho as far as we know. Therefore, the chances of Gamera appearing in this movie are slim to none. Besides that, Gamera is frail. They'd either have to beef up Gamera or weaken Godzilla to make it a fair fight. And please don't say King Kong either, Kong is owned by Universal, not Legendary. Plus, getting the rights for Kong would cost them one pretty penny. Both Gamera & Godzilla are defenders of humanity. Gamera is powered by the hearts of children. Godzilla would most likely be the enemy, he's been the villain before numerous times. Moreso than Gammy, who has been the villain in like one movie. Edited August 15, 2009 by Purgstall Quote
Mirabilis Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) Ah...i remember this video just like yesterday. It used to come on all the time on TNT's MonsterVision during the early 90's.
