Time War Dalek Emperor
8 hours ago, jerrygoodman said: Let me answer that question with a question -- has anyone ever tried to attack Archanfel psychically? Actually to add to this let’s not forget that like the Zoanoids and even most life on Earth, Arch’s connection to the Uranus is something that was manufactured into him. The psychic links and the power to control others in guyver all seems to based around manufactured susceptibility. Arch and the Zoalords cannot control normal humans as far as I’ve seen, and Apton evolved beyond being a zoanoid, he’s now a new creature with his link severed. Even the Guyver likely falls into this category. The guyver is stated to free it’s host from the Uranus’s psychic commands but if the rest of the series is anything to go by, their power to control humans is also designed. Which raises the question of will the guyver be able to protect its host from psychic power that originated from a different universe, ones not bound by its universes laws. By extension Arch’s never had his mind pitted again a being who doesn’t play by the same rules either.
jerrygoodman
Thought I'd do something this round...a husband-and-wife team! Let's begin with Brian Braddock, better known as Captain Britain! Brian's abilities are powered by interdimensional energies which are concentrated around the British Isles of each reality and also in Otherworld; moving too far away from the field will cause eventual power loss unless a power-enhancing costume is worn. After being lost in the timestream for a while, Brian briefly had precognitive flashes, though these eventually abated. For a time, all of his abilities were localized to Britain; if he went abroad for too long a time without wearing his costume, his powers eventually diminished to nothing. His costume acts as an antenna and battery, allowing him to retain his powers wherever he goes. When he and Meggan destroyed the Otherworld energy matrix at Roma's prompting, however, the energies that allowed him to retain his power within the UK without his costume were dissipated. Hence, to retain his powers anywhere on Earth, he must wear the costume at all times. Recently, Brian has gained the ability to use his powers even without his suit. They are now based on his confidence. With greater confidence comes more power, and he weakens as his confidence does. Originally, his powers were linked to the Amulet of Right, worn around his neck, and he depended on a mace-like Star Scepter to fly. Later on Merlyn changed his costume just before he entered an alternate Earth (Earth-238), removing the Amulet and the Scepter placing the powers in his new costume. Not long after that he was killed by the Fury and had his body remade by Merlyn, who chose this point to make his powers innate and stronger, with his costume merely serving as a "battery" and amplifier. Currently, Brian's powers are sustained by his own confidence and heritage as the son of a denizen of Otherworld. Thus, the more confident he is, the greater his powers are and vice versa. While wearing his costume, Braddock's strength is increased to high superhuman levels. At his peak, he's able to lift approximately 90 tons. Braddock's advanced musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a normal human. At his peak, he can exert himself physically for about 24 hours before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him. While wearing his costume, Braddock's body is surrounded by an invisible force field that renders him highly resistant to physical injury. The field allows him to sustain powerful energy blasts, great impact forces such as bazooka shells or being repeatedly struck by superhumanly strong opponents, temperature extremes, and falls from great heights without being injured. However, repeated impacts from sufficiently powerful forces or weaponry will weaken and, eventually, penetrate the field. The field's density, however, is specially designed to allow oxygen and light to pass through it. This force field is now sustained by his own confidence. Braddock's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. In addition, his reflexes are similarly enhanced and are superior to those of the finest human athlete. Braddock can purposely draw upon the energies that give him his other powers to temporarily increase the efficiency of his senses, enhancing them to superhuman levels. He can see objects with perfect clarity at much greater distances than a normal human can. His hearing is similarly enhanced, allowing him to hear further than a human and to detect sounds normal humans can't. He can also can also channel these energies for the purpose of flying through the air at great speeds. At his peak, he is capable of surpassing the Speed of Sound, 770 miles per hour. The force field that grants him his superhuman durability enables him to withstand the rigors of traveling at such high velocities would have on human tissue without harm, as well as allowing him to breathe normally. Of course, as tough as the Captain is, his wife is certainly no pushover either. Let's say hello to Meggan Puceanu-Braddock! A mutant empath, metamorph and elemental of great power, Meggan mostly keeps her strength at a decent 50 tons but since she has a deep connection with the earth she actually draws strength from the planet. So she can augment her to 100+ tons to even incalculable levels. Meggan has survived energy-based attacks, blunt force based attacks, and weapon based attacks even attacks like demonic/holy based attacks and magic attacks. In addition, she is capable of sensing the emotions and feelings of all living creatures (from people, to animals, to plants) and can broadcast her own feelings in order to influence other people's emotions. Meggan has the ability to “see” and “hear” natural/biological patterns of forces in the world around her. This power links her with natural/biological patterns of forces in the world around her, as well as with her own empathy/shapeshifting. Meggan can sense electromagnetic forces, air currents, chemical reactions and even detect “visibly” telepathic communications. Meggan can also see and sometimes talk to ghosts. She can assume the form of any living creature, even those who only exist in legends (once she became a Godzilla-like dragon and actually breathed fire, and another occasion she became a werewolf that looked like fellow mutant Wolfsbane, and had all of a wolf's natural abilities). Meggan can assume the form of other people as well. Thanks to her empathic ability, Meggan's body will actually change in response to the emotions around her, becoming beautiful when she feels loved, or hideous when she feels fear or anger. Her elemental powers also cause Meggan to change in response to her surroundings, such as growing fur in extreme cold, or gills when she is submerged underwater. She has also demonstrated the abilities to turn into sentient sand or water. If she takes on the appearance of another superhuman, Meggan can also gain their powers. This also worked when she turned into a female mirror of the Silver Surfer. In her true form, Meggan can manipulate, absorb or release elemental energy - this includes earth, fire, water, air and even ether(energy). Thanks to Meggan's empathy, she has a psionic link to the natural forces of the Earth. By "speaking" to the elements, Meggan can command the environment around her, and her emotional state can affect the local ecosystems. She can extinguish forest fires with a thought, summon gale force winds or part the waters of a lake with wave of her hand, or even cause earthquakes in a flash of anger. Meggan has even been observed causing electromagnetic pulses by commanding the magnetic fields around her, freezing opponents by rapidly dropping the air temperature around them, or increasing the powers of elemental mutants (such as increasing the temperature of her teammate Peter Wisdom's heat blasts). Meggan has used her elemental powers to affect man-made objects, such as actually making the atoms in a building's roof move apart, creating a hole in the roof that resealed itself (without a trace of ever having had a hole in it) once Meggan had passed though it (which suggests that Meggan's elemental powers may have a Telekinetic quality). Meggan has the ability to propel herself through the air at high speeds by force of will. While she does so, her hair streams out behind her to a length far longer than it usually is. Whether this is a conscious use of her shapeshifting power is unknown. Meggan can apparently support great weights even when flying. She can adapt to her physical environment, becoming impervious to cold without changing shape to adapt. In her true form, Meggan can manipulate magical energy, i.e. deflecting spells. Meggan's powers grow more fluid and manageable and stronger while she is in magical realms. Also, because of her shapechanging power, Meggan has some resistance to the reality-warping powers of others. She was able to break free of the power of Jamie Braddock, and was one of the few to remember the effects of the Jaspers Warp. So...individually, they could give Archanfel some trouble. Together, though...they could be a real force to be reckoned with. Thoughts?
jerrygoodman
My next champion is living proof that some things do run in the family...Rachel Anne Summers, aka Prestige! Hailing from the universe of Earth-811, the "Days of Future Past", Rachel is classified as an Omega Level mutant. She inherited enormous psionic powers from her mother and has limited control over her powerful telepathy and telekinesis. On many occasions, Rachel has shown incredibly strong empathic powers that enable her to control, manipulate and alter the feelings, sensations, and emotions of other sentient beings. Rachel is an Omega-Level telepath, similar to her mother Jean Grey, meaning she has limitless telepathic power. She can read minds and project her thoughts into the minds of other humans or animals within a vast, potentially limitless radius. She has not always had access to her telepathy due to fear of losing control. Even when her powers are inhibited, Rachel possesses potent telepathic abilities. She can use this power in a number of ways - Rachel can mask her presence from being detected by others. Her abilities can at times go undetected or be counteracted by other more powerful telepaths depending on their level of skill in using their own psi abilities. She can extend these defenses to others around her as well. In addition, Rachel possesses the ability to heal mental trauma through "psychic surgery", as well as the power to stimulate or deaden the pain and pleasure centers in a person's brain. She has also demonstrated abilities such as mind control, psionic shields (which can protect herself and the minds of others), mind transferal, telepathic illusions, mental paralysis, psionic blasts, the ability to place "psychic inhibitors" in the minds of mutant adversaries to prevent them from using their powers, astral projection, telepathic tracking, mental detection, and precognition, Rachel is also an Omega Level Telekinetic, meaning she has limitless telekinetic powers. She can sense and manipulate matter and energy, even on a sub-atomic level. Rachel can use her telekinesis to affect and control molecules and particles, allowing her to fully control matter and energy for a variety of effects. She can disassemble complex devices explosively (separating every last component, such as screws, nuts, circuit boards, etc.) and, just as quickly, easily assemble complex devices. This also has enabled her to even attain awareness and control over objects as small as individual electrons in an atom. For instance, Rachel could detect if a seal was hermetic or not by checking for the presence of penetrating oxygen molecules. She can even detect and discern individual oxygen molecules, and determine the atomic weight of molecules by the amount of atoms present. She has shown the ability to alter molecular and subatomic structures and the ability to alter molecular valences, or even rewrite her own genome. Rachel has also been able to create a micro black hole. She can manipulate and transmute matter on a sub-atomic level (e.g. instantly altering her clothing, turning wood into gold, plant into crystal, and cause physical bodies to disintegrate by altering their molecular structure, etc). She has even demonstrated the ability to create destructive psionic spikes that destroy the physical objects that they come into contact with. Rachel can also create protective force shields that can deflect even the most powerful of attacks (even filter bacteria from the air, withstand Jovian atmospheric pressures, and even repel nuclear weapon attacks). The upper limits of this ability remain unknown. Rachel has also displayed such control over the fields as to shape them precisely, even to conform very closely to her body’s form. There does not appear to be any correlation between field strength and the thickness of the telekinetic fields. She can project telekinetic energies as powerful blasts beams directed from her brain that could apparently affect matter with concussive force. Rachel is capable of telekinetically enhancing her physical abilities to superhuman levels. Rachel can also manifest her telekinesis as a psionic firebird, whose claws can inflict both physical and mental damage, as well as use her TK to manipulate various types of the energy from electromagnetic spectrum. Rachel even possesses the psionic power to travel and manipulate time for a variety of effects, including: travel through time and space, stopping or greatly slowing down time in her immediate vicinity, etc.) Rachel can even send the awareness/consciousness/soul of herself or others to the past or future versions of herself, or possibly their ancestors/descendants. She can also unconsciously emanation of a fourth dimensional pulse which creates a chrono-shield protecting from changes in the timeline, and can mentally project past events into the minds of others. When this Phoenix rises...even Archanfel should be wary. Thoughts?
jerrygoodman
Steering away from Marvel for awhile, lately I have had Ghostbusters on the brain, and I was thinking...what would happen if Archanfel took on Gozer the Gozerian? And before anyone asks, no I am not necessarily suggesting Gozer would take the form of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man (although seeing that fight would be freaking hilarious)... jerrygoodman
For my next contestant, I'd like to pit Archanfel against someone who, quite literally has been to Hell and back...more times than he'd probably care to remember. I give you, Al Simmons, better known as SPAWN. So...how do you think Simmons might fare against the leader of Chronos?
Salkafar
Spawn's power is unquantifiable since it's infernal magic. And he is dead; his mind may be inaccessible to Archanfel. Can he even be killed? This would be a terrible battle. Does Archanfel have a capacity for horror? *** Captain Britain was mentioned. So here we have a twofer: Sir James "Mad Jim" Jaspers... And the Fury. Jim Jaspers was a British mutant with reality-altering powers on the level of, say, Franklin Richards. If his power hadn't driven him insane he would have been completely unstoppable. Anything he wanted he simply made reality, in the manner we imagine God would. Fortunately his imagination was rather infantile and limited, and his mental faculties noticeably degraded over time. It is possible he would have become completely senile before his power would have reached total fruition. The Fury, on the other hand, is all focus and total direction. The creature, called a 'Cybiote' - apparently a more profound melding of flesh and technology than a cyborg - was made by Jaspers when his mind was still quite clear, and for only one purpose: destroying super-beings. On its world, it had killed all superheroes and supervillains. It has no real free will or much of an imagination, but it's not entirely a robot, either; it operates on roughly the mental level of a not-too-smart dog, so smart enough to hunt and kill, but unburdened by issues like "What is the purpose of my existence" or "Is this really the right thing to do". It also never gives up. Jaspers apparently gave it a small portion of his reality-altering power, allowing it to freely change, adapt and upgrade itself. It can absorb resources and integrate them into itself. Its only real limitation is its limited intellect - it cannot apply complex strategies or tactics, but it's so powerful that usually doesn't matter. Jim Jaspers - the original - died when his entire universe was erased from existence by a higher power, but the Fury had already left by that time, having taught itself to travel across dimensional barriers. It met with another version of Jaspers whose powers were even more developed and they fought; the Fury's programming compelled it to attack him, and in the end found a way to defeat and kill even someone who can alter reality itself by travelling to a place without reality. Archanfel might find himself outmatched. Edited February 1, 2020 by Salkafar
jerrygoodman
Okay, time to pull out the stops...Archanfel versus the Shi'ar Imperial Guard! Serving as the personal guard for the Majestrix of the Shi'ar Empire, the Guard is made up of the most powerful and elite soldiers throughout the empire. On top of that, their leader is Gladiator, whose powers and abilities are within the neighborhood of a certain Man of Steel over at the Distinguished Competition. So...thoughts?
Salkafar
I rate their chances as 'pretty good'. The fact they are a team allows them to attack in several different ways at once. Individually their power is not great compared to Archanfel, but they comprise psychics and strategists, as well as one of the universe's strongest warriors in Gladiator, and even one warrior who is literally a miniature star (G-Type). Archanfel was created to take on armies, but mainly by leading armies. So... good choice. *** How about this one? Rose Quartz might make for an interesting opponent because they are similar and yet so different. Rose Quartz was the leader of a rebellion against the alien empire of the Gems, who planned to conquer Earth over a period of a thousand years, and transform it into a Colony - a planet-sized Gem base where no organic life could exist. Although Rose was a Gem herself, she had decided that life on Earth was worth protecting, and she laid everything on the line to defy the Gem conquerors. However, unknown to almost anyone, Rose Quartz was no ordinary Gem soldier... she had once been Pink Diamond, one of the four rulers of the Gem space empire, and had changed her identity to be able to rebel. As such, Rose possesses an impressive array of powers, including immense, even Hulk-level strength, (a temper tantrum she once had cracked a planet in half) resistence against injury, levitation, the ability to turn plant life into formidable warriors, shapeshifting, telepathy, projecting her mind into someone else's body, healing any injury or material damage with her tears and manifesting an almost-impenetrable shield. It's even possible she has the ability to (subconsciously) mentally manipulate people to do what she wants. Fortunately what she wants is freedom, for herself and everybody else. She is probably not a match for Archanfel in the raw strength department, but she might convince him to chill out a bit.
jerrygoodman
Now that would certainly be one for the books... For my next contestant...behold, the Vision! A long-standing member of the Avengers, the Vision possesses a number of superhuman powers ultimately derived from his artificial substance and metabolism. The Vision's android body is a functioning replica of a human body containing analogues to virtually all human organs, blood, and tissue, composed of an unrevealed synthetic organic-like substance, presumably Horton Cells. This substance mimics all the functions of human tissue, but is several times as strong, durable and resilient. In addition, his brain brain functions like a computer enabling him to interact, wirelessly or directly, with other computer systems to utilize or extract data from them which can be stored in his databanks. He has used these abilities to disable the Avengers's security systems and gain direct control of the world's nuclear weapons systems. He is also able to receive transmissions from other computers if he establishes and maintains a connection with the Avengers's computers in their base of operations. He has a vast amount of information (possibly a library's worth) stored in his computer brain which he can refer to at any time, and he is also capable of rapid analysis of huge amounts of data. After his 'Ultron Imperative' protocol became active, the Vision spent hours absorbing solar energy and gathering raw materials to re-create his body so that it would be made entirely out of nanobots. This enabled him to disassemble into a stream of millions of nanites, enabling it to fit into and travel through extremely small spaces. Each nanite carries a copy of the Vision's A.I. programming, possibly enabling him to scatter and reconstruct a brand new body from a single unit. It also allows him to capitalize on his natural cyberpathic and technopathic manipulation capabilities by disassembling and infiltrating systems, rewiring them from the inside out via his near atomic scale semblance. The Vision can generate holograms to disguise himself as a human wearing a trench coat or even render himself invisible. He can adjust the sensitivity of his audio receptors to a point where he can detect the faintest of sounds. Vision can also scan life forms, energy sources and even objects detecting the substances that they are composed of and the energies that are radiating from them. Due to his artificial nature, his reflexes are greatly enhanced from a human's reflexes, and he does not tire. The Vision's body has been saturated with special cybernetically activated cells which are capable of interfacing with some unknown dimension with which he can shunt or accrue particles of mass. Thus the Vision is able to control his density and solidity. By shunting a non-critical portion of his body's molecules away from him, he can become a weightless, transparent, intangible wraith, unable to be touched by solid matter. By accruing extradimensional mass and fortifying his body with it, he can make his body extremely hard and durable to the point where it is immune to most types of damage. His base strength is above human, and increasing his density will increase his strength, to where he can lift (press) a maximum of 50 tons. He can become extraordinarily massive and harder than diamond. At maximum mass, the Vision weighs about 90 tons. The Vision can use his density control offensively by attaining minimum density (intangibility). Passing a part or all of his body within another living being and ever so slightly increasing his density (tangibility) enables him to direct that living beings actions. Even increasing his density to one half ounce (14.25 grams) is sufficient to cause the organism he passes through excruciating pain, a shock to the nervous system, and unconsciousness. Were he to become any more dense than one half ounce, the shock would probably kill the other organism if the organic damage was not extensive enough to kill the other organism in itself. Accordingly, the Vision employs this power with extreme caution. When at a minimum mass, the Vision can fly through the air weightlessly. It is not known how the Vision performs this task. He may be able to maneuver and gain speed by drawing power from Earth's magnetic field to some degree. When he does however, he is capable of passing through solid matter and reaching high speeds; it took Wonder Man (Simon Williams) some time to catch him. He can carry passengers while remaining solid on the outside, but he is not likely to fly as fast as he normally does. It is either the weight of the passenger that prevents him from doing so or he simply views it as "unsafe" for the passenger. There appears to be no limit to the time he can remain in any given altered state of density. The solar jewel on the Vision's brow absorbs ambient solar energy that his body is able to convert directly into usable forms by a process not unlike photosynthesis in plants, but with 99% efficiency. The solar ray absorption process occurs constantly (even at night to some degree) at a rate determined by the expenditure of energy for his bodily needs. Thus the jewel absorbs solar energy most expediently when the Vision utilizes it at some superhuman level of exertion. While the Vision does not require food or beverages to survive, he is capable of consuming and utilizing them for short-term energy. He can channel limited amounts of solar energy back through the gem on his forehead at will, creating a narrow hot beam of infrared and microwave radiation. The beam can be controlled within a temperature range of 500 to 30,000 degrees Fahrenheit. At maximum temperature, the Vision can melt through a 1-inch plate of steel in 5 seconds. The Vision originally was not capable of controlling the width of the beam, but later achieved the ability. He can sustain a heat beam at maximum intensity for about 2 minutes before he begins to tax his supply of energy for his other bodily functions. The Vision commonly uses his eyes for this purpose as well. So, who thinks Vizh has a shot at taking on Archanfel?
jerrygoodman
This one I'm throwing in just for giggles...Archanfel versus LOBO! Pretty much the ultimate "bad boy" of the DC Universe, Lobo has managed to hold his own against the likes of Superman and the Demon Etrigan, killed Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, gotten himself banned from entering Heaven and Hell, making him effectively immortal...he's pretty much a magnet for wanton mayhem and destruction. So...anyone think Archanfel has a shot against the Main Man?
Salkafar
Really difficult to say. Lobo's power is 100% physical, but oh boy, there's a lot of it. Plus he has the ability to regenerate himself from a single drop of his blood... or become an army of himself. Plus he is a murderous brute, but he can be clever if he needs to be... he created the plague that exterminated all life on his homeworld himself, after all. ...Did we cover Doomsday yet? Doomsday... the supreme survival machine. Created hundreds of thousands of years ago on the then-savage world of Krypton to be the ultimate life form by simply placing a child in the incredibly hostile environment, retrieving the remains, cloning it, and repeating it thousands of times, a being emerged that could adapt to anything. If killed, it regenerates - but altered, so it cannot be defeated the same way twice. Killing him at all is hard enough, though; when he first appeared on Earth, he was as strong as Superman and the two fought each other to death after he had torn through the Justice League. He obviously kept returning, each time more powerful than the last. Sometimes, his evolution makes him stronger in one way, but gives him a vulnerability he did not have before; he developed intellect on three separate occasions, for instance, and the first time it caused him to feel fear, leading to his defeat; the second time he decided he did not want to fight at all; and the third time it made him into 'Doomslayer', a being who made it his life's purpose to destroy all versions of Doomsday that existed. But survival is stronger, so his intelligence faded over time to turn him back into a nearly unstoppable killing machine. He eventually evolved into something so lethal it killed all life in its vicinity, just by being there. When Superman destroyed him and absorbed his remains, he then started to turn into a new version of Doomsday. To be honest I think Archanfel is the underdog here.

Stark's mechanical aptitude combined with the mystical power of a Sorcerer Supreme...that would make for a formidable combination against Archanfel. jerrygoodman
Well I'm bored and I want to get some more contenders in. So...our next contestants are... THE ETERNALS! An evolutionary offshoot of humanity created by the Celestials, the Eternals have served as humanity's protectors, most notably against the Deviants, another Celestial creation. Due to the cosmic energy that suffuses an Eternal's body and the unbreakable mental hold they have over their physiological processes, the Eternals of Earth are effectively immortal. They live for millennia, do not fatigue from physical exertion, are immune to disease and poison, and are unaffected by environmental extremes of cold and heat. Most cannot be injured by conventional weaponry, and even if they somehow are, an Eternal can rapidly regenerate any damage as long as they are able to retain their mental hold over their bodies; this mental bond can be broken however. It was also stated that Eternals are able to absorb oxygen directly from water, and therefore cannot drown. In the same series, Ikaris was plunged into molten metal and experienced great pain, but no physical injury, which the Deviants attributed to a forcefield which protects Ikaris even when unconscious. It is unclear if all Eternals share this degree of protection. This same cosmic energy can be channeled for a number of superhuman abilities. All Eternals are potentially capable of: Superhuman strength. The limits of their strength can be increased as a result of years of focusing some of their energy towards that purpose. Projecting concussive blasts, heat, and/or blinding flashes of energy from their eyes and hands Flight (and levitating others) Reading/controlling minds Generating illusions Teleporting vast distances, though most Eternals prefer not to use this ability as many find it uncomfortable (it also greatly depletes their store of cosmic energy) Transmuting objects, altering both their shape and composition. (The extent of this ability can vary from one Eternal to another.) Forcefield generation providing invulnerability to harm. In addition, groups of Eternals, as few as three at a time, can initiate a transformation into a gestalt being called the Uni-Mind, a vastly powerful psionic entity that contains the totality of the powers and abilities of all the beings that comprise it. Some Eternals choose to focus on a particular power in order to increase their effectiveness with it. Sersi, for example, has developed the power of transmutation further than any other Eternal. Additionally, some Eternals choose to focus their cosmic energies into other, non-standard abilities. Ikaris, for example, channels cosmic energy to greatly enhance his senses, while the Interloper uses his to generate fear in others, and Makkari uses his cosmic energies for superspeed. I think the Eternals have a pretty good shot at taking Archanfel down. What say you?
jerrygoodman
For my next contestant, I'd like to...oh bollocks, has anyone got a cigarette? Yeah, as you've probably guessed, our next contender is the Hellblazer himself -- John Constantine. One of the most notorious magic-users of the DC Universe, Constantine rarely uses magical spells, unless he has to, especially in combat. Constantine faces most of his challenges relying primarily on his cunning, quick-thinking during fights, vast knowledge of the occult, manipulation of opponents and allies, and an extensive list of contacts. These skills are often more useful than his magical ones. He is known to have deceived many of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe, such as The First of the Fallen and The Presence, as well as manipulating Batman and Superman. He is considered by many as being the world's greatest con man. Constantine is one of a few people knowing all the routes to Heaven, Hell, and the afterlife, which he uses to escape and teleport without the danger of being chased by enemies. In the graphic novel Pandemonium, he once allowed himself to be killed, but later resurrects himself by exiting the afterlife. As a sorcerer, Constantine is armed with the knowledge of many magical spells, rituals, and curses, such as evocation, necromancy, illusions, invisibility, and can even use magic to time travel. He has a wide range of protection magic such as sigils and magic circles that can protect him from both physical and supernatural attacks. John's most signature ability is synchronicity wave traveling, which is an instinctual supernatural ability for Constantine to make his own luck. This has led John to uncanny luck at games of chance, the ability to avoid and escape harm, meet the right kind of ally to help prevent or stop an apocalyptic event from happening, and reshape the battle he's fighting to his own accord. Constantine is highly resistant to many psychic attacks such as telepathy, possessions, and mind control. He can even use magic to block off omnipresence, seen where he once used sigils to hide himself from the First of the Fallen. By the New 52, other magical powers such as teleportation, counter spells, elemental magic, telekinesis, and immobilization have been added. He can use magic to reflect damages done to him onto his enemies. Aside from sorcery, Constantine has exhibited considerable mastery in "stage magic skills"—hypnosis, sleight of hand, pick pocketing and escapology. John carries with him an arsenal of powerful magical artifacts to aid him in battle, such as The House of Mystery, which also serves as his transport to different realms of the universe, and his trademark trench coat that possesses powerful demonic powers. Ever since tricking the Lords of Hell into curing his lung cancer, he was perpetually in good health and physicality. Constantine's blood is demonically tainted, initially by a blood transfusion from the demon Nergal, and later by sex with a succubus. His blood has been shown to have healing properties, and is noted to have an age-managing effect. It also acted as a defence mechanism when attacked by the King of the Vampires, as it is highly corrosive and poisonous. Constantine's skill at unarmed combat varies depending on the writer. Some portray him as a poor physical fighter, others as a capable hand-to-hand combatant. Over time he has won occasional fights using magical weapons, by fighting dirty, or by quick-thinking. Constantine sold his soul to two lords of Hell, Beelzebub and Azazel, both of whom accepted the deal. This was a trick to make sure that neither they nor Satan himself, who also had a claim, could take possession of his soul without destroying hell and its denizens. Thus until Satan quit and Azazel was sealed away by Dream of the Endless he was protected by the three like guardian angels. So how would a match between Archanfel and Constantine go? Well, I'd hate to hazard a guess but I think it'd start something like this... "I am Archanfel, and I am a demigod!" "Great stuff. I'm John...and I'm a bastard." jerrygoodman
Thought I'd revisit a contestant from my original thread... My next contender is the man who pretty much patented the phrase, "Hell on Wheels"...Johnathon Blaze, better known as Ghost Rider! Johnny Blaze possesses the supernatural ability to transform into the Ghost Rider at will. Originally, he would automatically transform at night or in the presence of evil. Recently, however, he has gained control over his transformations and can transform through an act of will or when innocent blood is spilled. It has recently been stated that Johnny Blaze and the Spirit that was supposedly the Ghost Rider are in fact agents of Heaven. The power of the Ghost Rider depends on who is in control of the Ghost Rider (effectively Johnny's body). Johnny and the Spirit inhabit the same body, and while transformed Johnny is in control for the majority of the time, but if he losses focus or control of the power of the Ghost Rider, the Spirit regaining control is likely to occur. While the Ghost Rider is in control, Johnny Blaze only influences its decisions to an extent as he takes the "back seat" to the Spirit. As stated by Doctor Strange, Johnny Blaze is simply a mortal and acts as a built in safety, that severely limits the power of the Ghost Rider. Doctor Strange also stated, that when Zarathos takes possession of the Ghost Rider, the Ghost Rider's powers are, for most intents and purposes, boundless and "God Like." Johnny Blaze is one of the strongest and most powerful beings on the planet, while the Ghost Rider, is for all intents and purposes described as boundless in power to the extent where the Ghost Rider was able to defeat Doctor Strange in battle. Similar to any other supernatural being, the Ghost Rider owns several superhuman feats. He possesses superhuman strength sufficient to lift up to 25 tons under normal circumstances, nevertheless if desired he could, given the divine nature of his powers increase them to incalculable levels. The mystical energy that empowers Ghost Rider prevents his muscles from producing fatigue toxins during physical activities, granting him limitless superhuman stamina. Johnny Blaze is highly resistant to the point of being basically immune to all types of earthly physical damage, as he has taken blows from beings such as the Hulk, had his entire skull destroyed and regenerated instantly without any discomfort, and while the Ghost Rider is in control only divine weapons (forged in Heaven) can harm the Ghost Rider. The Ghost Rider is capable of withstanding great impact forces, temperature and pressure extremes, powerful energy blasts, and falls from great heights without sustaining injury. As his bodily tissues have been transformed, leaving only a skeleton, most projectiles such as bullets simply pass through him or bounce off his bones. Ghost Rider's body is for all intents immune to physical injury, as he is evidently not able to feel pain and is able to survive with no apparent discomfort no matter how severe the injury (unless a weapon forged from Heaven itself is used against him). His mystically augmented being grants him enhance reflexes, coordination, dexterity and accuracy. This provides heightened movements allowing him to dodge projectiles such as Thor's hammer. Despite his invulnerability to conventional forms of injury, objects such as weapons forged in heaven by the arch angel Zadkiel, can actually harm the Ghost Rider to a certain extent. However, if his being is damaged, the magical energies imbuing him allows the Ghost Rider or Johnny Blaze to instantly regenerate any and all damage done, even to the point of fully regenerating lost limbs in moments, and regenerating his skull after it was destroyed in seconds without any discomfort or any evident pain. Ghost Rider is able to feel the transgression of an individual he encounters by looking into their heart and soul. He can also decide whether or not a person is innocent or evil and in need of punishment. He is also capable of doing this ability without the process of transformation. He can also determine the identity of the individual by simply looking into their soul. However, if certain beings do not possess a soul such as a symbiote or demons, he can still identify them. Ghost Rider possesses an extrasensory ability that allows him to detect any supernatural occurrences around him. Ghost Rider can manipulate the immoral act known as sin. He can purify any soul, whether righteous or degenerate, from sin. However, this effect may cause the victim to be emotionless. He will only backfire the wrongs of the victim causing either an emotional break down or repentance. He can do a number of things with it, such as sin perception -- in addition to read the heart and souls of his victims, he also read, feel and sense the sorts of sins the individual has committed in the rest of their life, as well as sin eating, or sin removal -- he can remove/absorb any sort of sin from the individual if so desires. GR also possesses the ability of Hellfire Manipulation, or Infernal Pyrokinesis -- he can generate, control, and project mystical fire, or "hellfire" at will. Hellfire is an ethereal and supernatural flame that burns the soul of a person and can also be used to burn their physical body. He can utilize this fire in various ways: - Hellfire Infusion: His ability to channel hellfire allows him to imbue objects and vehicles by choice with his mystical element. - Hellfire Projection: He can spew the fire from his eyes, mouth, hands and chest, including channeling the fire from his body into his weapons such as his shotgun. - Hellfire Forgery: He is able to construct various things such as walls, weapons and his motorcycle. - Hellfire Telekinesis: He can also control hellfire infused objects through his mind.[50] - Hellfire Attacks: In addition to projecting and infusing hellfire, he can perform a number of attacks. He can create hellfire balls, spew out a massive wave and unleash omnidirectional explosions that are incredibly powerful, capable of bringing great pain to the Hulk. - Hell Firestorm: He is able to rain down a firestorm of hellfire directly towards the surrounding enemies resulting to devastating destruction. Ghost Rider has the ability to manipulate souls, the incorporeal essence of a living thing. This more evident when he performs the Penance Stare. He can read the souls of his victims and judge their innocence and guilt, their sins and identity. He can consume souls if the individual is degenerate and heartless to an extent where the victim becomes lifeless. Ghost Rider is able to traverse different dimensions. Though it may have some complications due to Johnny Blaze unfocused behavior, he can open vortexes to escape other realms. He wields a mystical chain that is capable of growing in length, cutting through almost anything, and transforming into other weapons. He can also spew and project chains from his mouth or chest at will, and control the movements with his mind. Ghost Rider utilizes demonic forces and satanic spells to his advantage. His knowledge of hellish energies and essence provides him supernatural awareness when he encounters otherworldly figures. Ghost Rider's signature ability is his Penance Stare -- he possesses the supernatural ability to cause any individual who stares into his eyes to see and feel every bit of pain they have ever inflicted on anyone in their entire lifetime for all eternity. Recently, he was able to incapacitate the inhabitants of Mojoworld without looking into their eyes and still inflict great suffering. In the past, Ghost Rider demonstrated his ability to increase his size. After being shrunk, he was able to grow back to his original height through a sheer act of will. Recently, he once again perform this action but only heightening himself against beings such as Thor and Satana Hellstrom. All in all, I think Archanfel should think twice before butting heads with the Spirit of Vengeance. What do you think?
Salkafar
Ghost Rider's penance stare is ALWAYS nerfed and NEVER works when it really has to. It's an outrage and infuriates me, but there you have it. This is an obscure one... Zeta was the leader and most powerful member of the Pantheon, a group of humans who had been transformed by the power of the Living Diamond and the Tree of Life of which it was a seed, in order to unwittingly accomodate the conquest of Earth by a race of aliens who used the tree to move their entire civilization when it had exhausted their world. The origin of the tree is unknown, but it transformed the seven people - who called themselves Rho, Epsilon, Delta, Mu, Omicron, Sigma and Zeta - into forms of devastating power. Zeta in particular, who gestated in the tree the longest - partially while it was feeding on Superman's power - displayed an incredible array of powers of seemingly infinite potency, capable of defeating the entire Justice League with practically zero effort. He was capable of trumping the magic abilities of Zatanna and the elemental powers of Firestorm; he could even strip Superman of his powers with a thought. He was not, in fact, defeated; Superman and Batman managed to convince him not to destroy a world or toy with the fate of its inhabitants, but instead become the god and caretakers of the helpless aliens who sent the seeds of the Tree of Life, and guide them to a new way of living that did not endanger anyone else. Zeta is indescribably powerful; he called himself a god numerous times, and it is difficult to challenge the notion. He could change reality at his whim, transforming entire planets and raising the dead if he so pleased. He was never used again in any comic, because he's simply too formidable. Another example where Archanfel seems to be the underdog.
jerrygoodman
Yeah, no kidding. I looked this guy up after you posted him, and man...no wonder he hasn't been used since. For my next contestants, I give you...the Guardians of the Galaxy! (Yeah, I'm sure some of you were expecting the 21st century team, but I wanted to go old school on this one...) Hailing from the 31st Century of Earth-691, the original Guardians were a team of freedom fighters who banded together to battle the alien race known as the Badoon, and later on facing threats such as the cyborg-turned-cosmic god Korvac and the Iron Man armor-wielding species called the Stark. If these guys can take on cosmic beings and alien empires, I think a Zoalord supreme should be no problem for the Guardians. Thoughts? Salkafar
I don't think I agree... they were wiped out, together with the Avengers no less, when they went up against Korvac after he had been evolved by plugging his cybernetic half into the database of Galactus' ship. Korvac was insanely powerful, but not THAT powerful; I mean he was ipso facto not as powerful as Galactus himself, and I would compare him to Archanfel. Which, of course, does make him a valid addition to this list! Edited May 21, 2020 by Salkafar
jerrygoodman
While we're still on the cosmic route, I'm going to revisit another "oldie-but-goodie"...the enigmatic Adam Warlock! Created by the renegade scientists called the Enclave, Warlock was created to be the perfect human being, the pinnacle of future human evolution. As he emerged, he sensed his creators' evil intentions and lashed out them. He then escaped, and went on to become one of the most pivotal figures in the Marvel Universe's cosmic pantheon. Much of Adam's powers are derived from his unique biology, which grants him vast capabilities and powers. These powers are also subject to various changes with each rebirth and development from his regenerative cocoon on a subconscious level and can develop powers depending on the situation at hand. According to Thanos, Adam is also a unique being like himself and is described to be apart of the "cosmic norm". During his time as the Magus, the Xandarian Worldmind stated that Adam's power was beyond Dark Quasar and labelled him being powerful to a degree that made it impossible for it to measure against Richard Rider, who was a Nova-Prime. From his experience with the Soul Gem, the Infinity Gem has formed a willing, symbiotic bond with Adam, giving him the ability to sense its whereabouts at will. Out of all the hosts the Soul Gem has bonded with, it has stated that Adam was the most powerful of all his hosts, having retained his will under it's control. Because of this bond, Adam can render himself immune and even counter the likes of the Soul Gem being used by others. Originally destined to become the Avatar of Life by the In-Betweener, Adam was designated as the Avatar of life by the aforementioned entities in order to oppose the then-Avatar of Death, Thanos, and keep a cosmic balance between life and death. After re-inserting the inactive timeline involving the Magus, Adam was officially recognized as Earth-616's Avatar of Life again. The first iteration of Magus was capable of once summoning the In-Betweener by saturating his past counterpart in a harmless special radiation that acted as a beacon. It's unknown if this capability can only be done via the Soul Gem or that being an Avatar of Life allowed it to be possible. In addition, Adam Warlock possesses a number of super-human properties and powers derived from his artificially determined genetic structure. This is owed due to possessing a perfect, genetic template. This perfection was noted by Ultron and the High Evolutionary, who even cited his being was something he could not quite replicate easily. These abilities include -- - Energy Consumption: His new body, according to Thanos, has made him a more direct consumer of energy much like that of Galactus' heralds and even Thanos himself. This, in turn, allows him to even sustain himself without food or water like the Mad Titan. This can be done via contact with a energy conductor or the energy itself. Prior, he was able to absorb magical energies and life energy as well as other kinds. - Superhuman Strength: Warlock possesses super-human strength, though its exact level is unknown. Previously listed at class 4, he could once enhance his strength, enabling him to reach class 40 for less than one hour. However, Adam Warlock has been able to fight hand-to-hand, and injure, beings such as Wonder Man, Thor, and Ulik. - Superhuman Speed: Warlock is capable of running and moving at speeds much greater than even the finest human athlete. He was able to dodge an attack Galactus made at point-blank range and reappeared above him. It is not known whether he did this by teleportation. He has also been able to move at speeds Drax was unable to see. - Superhuman Stamina: Warlock's musculature generates less fatigue toxins, during physical activity, than the musculature of a human being. While not employing his energy to enhance his natural physical strength, Warlock can physically exert himself at peak capacity for several hours before fatigue begins to impair him. - Superhuman Durability: Warlock's bodily tissues are much harder and more resistant to injury than those of a human. He is capable of withstanding tremendous impact forces, falls from great heights, exposure to temperature and pressure extremes, the vacuum of space, and powerful energy blasts without sustaining injury. His body is also specially adapted to withstand the physiologically debilitating effects of moving and running at high rates of speed without sustaining injury. Adam has survived punishment from Thor, a Thanos clone, Drax, and the Man-Beast, despite them all outclassing him physically. - Superhuman Agility: Warlock's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete. - Superhuman Reflexes: Warlock's reaction time is similarly enhanced, enabling him to react at a level that is beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. - Flight: Adam Warlock can also employ cosmic energy to negate the force of gravity beneath him, enabling him to fly. In an Earth-like atmosphere, Warlock is easily capable of reaching the speed of sound, roughly 770 miles per hour. While in outer space, however, Warlock has been shown to have been capable of attaining supraluminal (faster-than-light) velocities. - Immortality: While Adam can be killed, he never truly dies. This is due to the fact his soul is so strong, even Death herself cannot claim his soul. As such, he can be reborn. - Cellular Regeneration: Adam's regenerative and restorative abilities are extremely advanced. In addition Adam possesses Ultra Senses -- After taking the memories of the Magus from his soul and some of his own abilities as a result, he gained superior senses in which allowed him to locate space anomalies such as black holes Adam was later gifted with enhanced perceptions from his rebirths, allowing him to see the auras, the souls and states of others as well as examine others genetic structure. In addition, his multi-compartmental brain bestow Adam cosmic senses. Adam has the ability to detect or produce wormholes and other irregularities in space on a cosmic scale. After one of his recent rebirths, He also has the ability to sense whenever someone is teleporting. Adam possess profound mystical senses in addition to his cosmic awareness capabilities that is capable of sensing mishaps on a spiritual level such as irregularities. Adam is capable of resisting the Time Gem's time freeze capabilities when utilized on him by Rune. Also, due to his firm grasp on reality, Adam is highly resistant to "reality warping." While formerly possessing powerful telepathic capabilities as Him, Warlock has since lost most of the high level of telepathic power, retaining a fraction of telepathic power he once possessed. However, the exact level of capability in his Telepathy is unknown. His defenses have been described by renown and extremely powerful Moondragon to be intense and even was able to throw out Moondragon from his mind as well as dispel Mantis's intrusions. Adam is a capable energy manipulator, with such power having been augmented by the Soul Gem for the majority of his life, although was somewhat capable of doing so independently until his recent resurrections. His latest resurrection has allowed him greater capability with his manipulation, now capable of "short-circuiting" even other energy manipulators such as both Silver Surfer and Quasar. According to Adam himself after his later resurrection, his increased skill allows him convert energy into matter and has absolute control over the process in addition. Prior to his resurrection, his matter manipulation was great enough to turn Thanos into granite, a process only undone by Death. Adam has been seen employing various kinds of energy into constructs. Whether the use of it comes from his metaphysical quantum energy or other kinds of energy, he has been shown capable of creating swords, pieces of armor, and shields. True to his naming of Warlock and among his energy manipulation capabilities includes manipulating mystical energy for a variety of purposes. He relayed much of his mystical powers, however, from the Soul Gem instead of his own independent energies during his extended time with the Infinity Gem. However, he still displayed some independent powers without it's reliance. Much of his mystic powers includes exorcism, body transmutation, and astral projection. Adam was capable of resurrecting other beings by imbuing their souls into bodies and transmuting to alter it to appear as their original body. Adam can use his mystical powers to travel into the future in his astral form. As a master of his own soul, he can render himself immune to individuals who are capable of draining other's souls. Adam can cast spells for a variety of effects. He was able to use a spell to expunge both Drax and Silver Surfer from the Soul World with an incantation. Adam has displayed capability in creating mystic portals. To counter the future dilemma of the Fault expansion into the Cancerverse, Adam's subconscious allowed his resurrected form to gain the power to heal repairing space and reality itself. Dubbed "Quantum Magic" and also referred to as "Metaphysical Quantum Energy Manipulation", this allows him to perform magical feats in which are performed from available power around him and "conjured psi-llables" His current powers derived from his newfound "Quantum Magic", allows him to seemingly continue his usage of his spiritual powers the by manipulating the energy from souls to imbue them to items or to use offensively as beams. Because of his connections to the usage of souls overtime, Adam had later gained empathic capabilities from sensing souls. Such capabilities allowed him to feel the billions of souls killed in the Annihilation Wave. He is also capable of performing large scale and complex spells capable of manipulating the timeline and insert a previously "unused" future in place of the current timeline. Such a feat, however, can only be performed If properly energized by a tremendous amount of energy and cannot hear others during it's preparation and casting. He can even cast spells for healing, magical energy blasts, telekinesis, magical lightning, teleportation, transmutation, materialization, and force field generation. Adam can use his Quantum Magic to create an enchantment capable of manipulating timelines in order to overlap an "unused" future. Such a capability, however, requires Adam to be sufficiently energized. As the Magus, he also controlled the timeline to the point of changing all futures in which he himself rules. During his time as Magus, Adam was capable of transmuting even reality itself to create an illusion to fake his death at the hands of a Cosmic Cube. Among his body's special adaptations are an enclave of cells able to tap and transform cosmic energy for personal use such as projecting blasts of cosmic energy, locate and enter natural space warps, and augment his own physical capabilities. He can use his cosmic powers for healing purposes. Warlock shown the ability to generate intense thermal energy. According to Lord Chaos and Master Order, Adam is outside the loop of destinies and as such is capable of deeds in which cannot easily be seen or tracked by even those with cosmic senses (such as Quasar) wielding the Infinity Gauntlet and exclusively using their cosmic senses granted from the gauntlet. This also extends into supernatural powers, with those unable to gather intelligence on Adam Warlock through magical means. So, basically...I'd have to give this fight to Adam. Archanfel wouldn't have a chance.
jerrygoodman
For my next contestant, I want to switch away from the cosmic guys for a bit and try someone a little more down-to-earth...the Human Torch! Now before anyone says anything, I'm not talking about Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four, but rather -- Jim Hammond, the original android Human Torch from the 1930s. The original Human Torch possessed the mental ability to control ambient heat energy and the physical ability to transform his entire body, or portions of his body into a fiery, plasma-like state of will. He possesses the mental ability to control ambient heat energy and the physical ability to envelop his entire body or portions of his body with fiery plasma without harm to himself. (Plasma is a super-heated matter that exists in the atmosphere of stars). Ordinarily, when aflame, the Human Torch is enveloped by a low intensity flame of low level plasma (reddish, approximately 780° Fahrenheit), which ranges from 1 to 5 inches from his body. He can, however, generate much higher levels and flames about himself. The Torch refers to his highest, hottest levels of plasma that he can create as his "nova flame." The exact temperatures that his "nova flame" can attain are not known. At an average rate of expenditure of energy, the Torch can stay aflame for about 16.8 hours. In his younger days, he could only maintain his flame for much briefer periods, and sometimes exhausted it while in combat. He cannot maintain his "nova flame" for as long a time as he can maintain his ordinary flame. The Torch can release all of his body's stored energy in one intense, omnidirectional "nova-burst," which can reach about 1,000,000°F, and which is similar to the heat-pulse of a nuclear warhead detonation, with an are of total devastation of about 900 feet in diameter. (The Torch has claimed that he can destroy a small moon with his nova-burst.) This violent discharge uses his entire reserve of energy (except for the necessary to keep him alive) at once, entirely exhausting his flame power. He generally requires at least 12 hours to recover entirely from such a feat. The Human Torch can generate shapes composed of fire from any point on his body. (He usually employs his hands to "sculpt" the flames.) He can form fire into long streams, spheres, or even more complex shapes like letters in skywriting. These flames-objects will only remain their shapes as long as he concentrates upon them. The objects will only burn about three minutes before expiring unless the Torch continues to infuse them with energy. The temperature of these fiery projections is generally around 2,800°F (near the melting point of iron). The original Human Torch can telekinetically control not only flames and flame objects that he himself creates, but also flames he did not create. Before he had mastered his flame control ability, the Torch yelled at the flames to gain control The Human Torch's plasma has a high hydrogen content, and is surrounded by an exuded cloud of mono-atomic hydrogen atoms. This hot cloud provides sufficient positive buoyancy for him to float. With mental stimulation of his flame, he can provide enough lift to carry 180 pounds. By forming a jet from his feet, directed behind him, he can achieve speeds up to at least 140 miles per hour. The Human Torch has the ability to mentally control the ambient heat energy within his immediate environment, even when he himself is not aflame. He can reduce objects' temperatures (if they are in a normal range for existing on Earth's surface) to about 30°F, raise them to several hundred degrees, or extinguish open flames. His radius of influence is about 80 feet. The heat energy he takes from the environment is absorbed into his own body. If he takes in a critical amount while he is not aflame, he will become aflame. There are unknown limits to the amount of flame he can absorb into his own body harmlessly while he is himself aflame. He has been shown interfering with the thermal gradients of heat seeker missiles so he could cause them to change direction. The Torch is unaffected by heat and flames, including his own, even when part of him is aflame and the rest of him is not. His flesh cannot be scalded or burned by any heat source whose level is below that of his maximum output. Another distinction he has with Johnny Storm is that Jim can make his flames radioactive. So, do you think Jim has a chance against Archanfel? I have a feeling Archy might get burned in this match...

jerrygoodman
Figured it was time to get this rolling again. For my next contestant, let me just say that, whoever said actions speak louder than words has clearly never met Blackagar Boltagon, aka Black Bolt. The King of the Inhumans, Black Bolt's primary superhuman ability is the power to harness electrons. The speech center of his brain contains a unique organic mechanism that's able to generate an unknown particle that interacts with the electrons he absorbs to create certain phenomena that are determined by his mental control. The fork-shaped antenna upon his brow allows him to focus and channel his powers in more directed and less destructive ways. This antenna monitors the speech center of his brain and allows him to direct quantities of the unknown particles to create controlled phenomena, such as enhancing his physical strength beyond his normal limits. He can also channel all the available energy he has into one arm for a single, massively powerful punch called the Master Blow. The exertion from this, however, taxes his ability to employ the energy to its full power for a short time. Black Bolt can also direct the unknown particle outwards without the use of his vocal chords. He can route the particles through his antennae or his arms and hands to create small yet vastly powerful blasts of concussive force, absorb and redirect vast quantities of energy. He can also form a field of highly active electrons around his body with a wave of his hand, this field can deflect projectiles with the mass of a meteor. Black Bolt can also create enough iteration between the electron and particle energies to generate fields solid enough for him to travel over. Through an unknown method, Black Bolt has shown numerous times that he has the ability to manipulate matter and energy to an unknown degree. He has shown the ability to transmute the elements, turn water into ice, create multiple toys out of thin air by rearranging molecular if not particle structure. He has destroyed a Solar Flare powerful enough to annihilate the Earth, and was able to block the powers of others through his abilities in turn denying them access to their abilities. In addition, Bolt has strong psychic resistance, as was evident when he was able to easily resist the mental abilities of his powerful brother, Maximus, and overwhelm him in psychic ability. Black Bolt can also harness the unknown particles his brain generates to interact with electrons to create anti-gravitons that enable him to defy gravity. By emitting a jet of rapidly moving particle / electron interaction by-product while enveloped by anti-gravitons, Black Bolt has been shown to fly faster than hypersonic speeds for a period of 10 hours, and to fly beyond escape velocity. The anti-graviton field also serves to protect Black Bolt from the detrimental effects of rapid movement through the atmosphere although it's not needed. Black Bolt's most devastating offensive weapon, and one of the phenomena based upon the particle interaction, was his actual voice. A whisper could level a city, cause distant dormant volcanoes to become active once more, shake entire continents apart and generate tremors on the far side of the planet. A hypersonic shout has been said to generate enough force to destroy planets. Due to the constant and extreme danger posed by his voice, he had undergone rigorous mental training to prevent himself from uttering even the smallest sound, even while asleep. Recently it had been shown that Black Bolt's scream was tied into his emotions, especially anger. This in turn would mean that the power of his scream would depend on his emotional state in at least some way. It would explain the somewhat significant difference of the power released by his quasi-sonic scream. So...who thinks the king of the Inhumans can stand up to the Zoalord Supreme? H222G981
On 12/17/2016 at 10:36 PM, jerrygoodman said: As I've discussed in past threads, I have had major doubts regarding Archanfel's alleged godhood. Yes, he is phenomenally powerful and has demonstrated as such on numerous occasions, but whether he is a deity can be...debated. I do believe that your doubts are correct. The Creators never called him a god. He came up with that definition on his own and has been loosely referring to himself as a deity. He created religion. Zoanoids built a temple around him and worshipped him on his island while he slept. He called his corporation Chronos. Perhaps this delusion comes from the fact that he was created to be dominant and controlling of the zoanoids. He may once had been very powerful so long ago. However, whatever weapon the creators used on him, before they threw a comet at him and Earth, weakened him greatly and he's never fully healed since. He's constantly using his optimization pod on his island gathering energy and hibernating. He's millions of years old. He destroyed a comet, He can teleport out of a black hole, He can swat aside a mega smasher, he can create other zoalords on his island as well as heal them. However, his powers come at a cost. When he healed Murakami, he went into hibernation. Even if he did fight another being. He'd have to finish them quickly. The manga has shown that his powers are not infinite. jerrygoodman
No match this time around, but I caught the season finale of "What If...?" and it kinda occurred to me...the battle between the Guardians of the Multiverse and Vision/Ultron looks kinda how I envisioned a fight between the Avengers and Archanfel... I mean, granted yes, there'd be some differences but the basic gist would be the same. What do you think?
