WarriorZoalord Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 anyone remmeber back when they first joined the forum how the website and fics were? When I joined, I remember Rescue being the newest WG Fanfic. This place was busy..... man i miss those days. Now a lot of the authors are gone, or missing. I really liked the Twilight guyver, A hard to hit character that wasnt super powerful compared to the other guyvers around, like an underdog. I liked the guyver C stuff as well, standard guyver nearly dies like G2 did, ends up being saved and suddenly becomes a powerhouse. not to say the WG fics are overpowered. heck, i was just looking at the old site and i really like the new timewar as opposed to the old one. been a fan of the site for a long time, and likely will always come back. heck, this site inspired me to try and write my own fanfic.... got like 1 chapter done and felt it was too hard for me. I'm good at imagining things, just find it hard to put it into words. huh.... had i posted this two days ago i would have done it on my 10th anniversary of joining. Quote
largo Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Ahh the days of old how we remember you. Quote
Azaar Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Heh. I'm just over the 10 year mark, heading for Year 11 (May 14, 2003) myself. Hard to believe it's been that long, but I'm still enjoying the read, especially seeing how Sully's fleshed out so much more with the WG universe with his ongoing rewrites. That said, there is still some writing being done -- Sully's working on the rewrite as well as Story 9, as I understand it, and I know he's been trying to get in contact here and there with Matt and the others. I've completed the first part of my second story "Preparations" for Gabe/Stellar Warrior Guyver ("Inception" being the first, in the Character Stories section of the site), but the last month or so has really bogged me down -- I was working a seasonal job as a bellringer for the Salvation Army locally, and just finished last week... right in time for Christmas and New Years. That said, Part 1 of Preparations is done, Part 2 is gonna undergo a potential minor rewrite, and I'm a little ways into Part 3... with Part 4 sketched out and Part 5 still in the brainstorming stage. After Preparations, I'm likely gonna see what Sully has planned for Story 10 and how Gabe bonds with the Stellar Warrior Unit, before continuing on and seeing about pursuing my own storylines while coordinating with Sully to keep things flowing in the Warrior Guyver universe. Sully Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Sorry guys, but in some way I feel responsible for letting the site slip. But in the end time marches on. My real life is hectic at the mo, my attic is being converted as we speak and soon I'll have my den back and space I can finally work in and do some fun and finally have a place to put and paint Guyver models! Zeus Thunderbolt Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 (edited) Remember that Guyver Zoanoid vinyl kit I bought when Me, you (Sully) and Xtro Guyver bumbled around the Birmingham NEC in days gone past? Yeah, that kit is still unpainted. Edited September 27, 2015 by Guest Quote
xtro guyver Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Now that was a while back, mind you I picked up a neo zectole kit at a london tf meet a few years back and it still remains unassembled in the loft Quote
McAvoy Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I remember back in 1998. I think Revenge Part 1 or 2 just came out. Warrior Guyver 2 was the new guy. I remember how basic the site was and the annoying popups it had. I remember how often the site was updated with new pictures and new stories and new datafiles. Matt just joined when I first started. I had nothing but up to Book 8 I believe. Hell I wasn't sure what the Gigantic was at the time. I remember how busy the forum was at one point even though by the time there was a forum stories started to dry up. Quote
Zeus Thunderbolt Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 It was around 1998 when I found this site through the web links on BioWeapons.com using my secondary schools lab computers. Because i didn't have a computer back in the day, and the computer lab supervisor was a dick with the printer, I used to half-hitch his surplus floppy disks, convert the fan fics to .txt and print them off on the art departments old dusty computer, the one lost in the storage cupboard. I loved watching that old printer go, you know the ones, the kind of ones with those hole punch things on the side of the paper (dot matrix?). Quote

I remember how busy the forum was at one point even though by the time there was a forum stories started to dry up. There has being a lot of change over the years, and a lot of it is along with Guyver we've all grown and changed and have lives. Since Andre started he's gone from not having kids to now having teenagers.... It's hard to realise it but we've being around 17 years. Good news is that the site this year is the site has more activity this year since May than all of the time between 2009 and then. http://warriorguyver.com/creditsfaq/update_full.htm What's distracted me the most is over, I no longer plan WoW and even the idea of Paladin halls and the Ashbringer isn't pulling me back. I really dislike how much WoW has cost me in life. not just in this website but in other things like my IT career. But good news is that since dropping it in May I've had a renewed focus on WG.com and have being sorting things out, fixing the Arkwork section and finally showing a lot of our new and even older stuff. The forum is starting to come back to life and Matt and I are are working on stuff and so is the ninja like James (I think.... as I said Ninja like!). I know this from chatting with the guys but the story and the art is better now and actually thought compared to before. Things diddn't make sense when you read beyond book 8 and the fan-fan. That we're fixing now. Things like Guyver 2F have actually helped the fan-fic and properly thinking out the Gen makes it a lot easier now for me to write freely with the likes of Krullnar. Ideally, we'd have never had the pause we did before, but I know now if we didn't we'd have stopped writing completely anyway once we realised how badly wrong we were getting things like the Gigantic power level. The site will recover as the updates continue. I've found my new job!!! and it's not as all consuming as my previous roll so hopefully it'll give me food for thought like my old 99 to 2003 job where I litrally was so bored at work I wrote most of my early fan fic there... McAvoy Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I went from going from a freshman in High School, graduating and then joining the Navy and then left the Navy. Then going to school for four years. I also remember that I used to print the stories out, after I edited it to go from the script look to book format to save paper and ink. I also edited all of the datafiles so they were all standardized. Quote
