OnyxPhoenix Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Yes, boys and girls, I am another yr older today. last I checked, 37 (yes, u saw that right: Thirty Seven) and going strong. Oh, and any old fart comments from u young whipper snappers will garner u a pressure cannon where the sun don't shine, got it? Just got back in from a whopper of a family reunion. Must have had over thirty-plus relatives, cousins, nieces, and nephews there that have not been together in one place for ages. At least three or four generations worth of us all. Now that's a lot of Oquendo clannies (the Puerto Rican family name). Was great to have them all there, especially ones who had not spoken to each other in several yrs. My only younger brother and my mom finally hugging and crying together after at least five yrs of not speaking due to family issues. Hopefully, with this new yr and a commitment to see more of each other before the older ones pass on, this will keep us closer from now on. My tidbit to all u Guyver members, as I reflect on this b-day gift of my family together again that I was given: if you have family anywhere, and r not speaking, fix it. Make the effort, and make it right. Appreciate the family u have now, and remember the family looking down on u from above as u bring the ones you have missed for so long back into the fold. I did, and u know what? I feel absolutely wonderful. Quote
Juggernought Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Oh i know about family...just bein 25, married, kid on the way, and newly hired as a pilot flying executives around the caribbean my family is always helping out and they always at the house! Sometimes i just want find a dark corner and hide for an hour and play some video games and come chat on here but life don't work that way. Still i'm glad we all close and thank God everyday for them because i swear, you don't want your pregnant wife harping at you the minute u walk through the door tired from a long day of flying and handling bags and making sure your clients are taken cared of...At least the family takes that particular concern away Family is key, they keep you centered in life, make things interesting and you know you always have them there for support. Aranor Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Family is precious no doubt. I have a son who was born in July of 2010 and has been in ICU since. This has tought me much about just how precious people are. I find it amazing with the number of methods for communicating I get the occasional chance to hang out with old friends and realise it has been 6+ years since we last had the chance. Time goes by too fast to take things for granted. Just look at how long each of us has been browsing these forums. Approaching 32 here and while I may not be catching up to ya I am not far behind. Happy birthday. And remember, some don't get to make it to the new year to begin resolutions. There is no better time than the present to get things done. Quote

OnyxPhoenix Posted January 22, 2011 Author Posted January 22, 2011 Aranor, prayers and good wishes for u and yours. I hope the little man gets better soon. One of my nephews has nearly passed on three times when he was younger. The man upstairs must have big plans for him, and I bet your little man is right on that list of plans as well. Hoping for the best to you. J, right there w/ ya, man. Thx. Sully, thanks for the well wishes. And, keep up the magic, man. It is well worth the wait. Quote
