Who wants to discuss some of the technology used in the stories and whether they are realistic or not?

Like the Dimensional Coupler... Does anyone know how it is suppose to work and whether it is based on science or just a magic device made for the story?

I think alot of stuff being shown in the latest movies such as Ironman amongst others, are actually based off real ideas. fusion power, and all that. Movies just take it a step further and improvises where in reality it hasn't been discovered yet how to achieve that level of tech or how to harness such energy.

I find the princibles behind the Demensional Coupler to far more believable than the Hyper Space Link. One thing about it though has been bugging me...Is the size of the device relivent to the power output? Like the Armor's are powered by a Demensional Coupler the size of a Beer Can, following this princible would one the size of a bus power an entire city or would it produce the same amount of energy? I've been thinking that the bigger the fusion reaction that is shifted into higher demensions would result in a bigger power flow.

And how much power would a Demensional Coupler the size of a beer can produce? Say three thousand giga joules, maybe four thousand? Using that comparison a pare of devices the size of a bus would essentially produce enough energy to power the entire United States, wouldn't it?

As for the Science behind the Arc Reactor in Ironman, the princibles behind it are related to a perpetual motion device. However it seems to function in a similar way as a Zero Point Module from the Stargate TV show. It would produce a vast amount of energy but deplete eventually. The unbelievable nature of the power production is Tony Stark could power the entire United States with a few of the second generation mini devices, as a single device produces 3 GW of energy. Which, if the science of Back To The Future was accuret, is more energy than contained in two to three bolts of lightning. In essence this technoligy is more of a plot advancing device than a scientific possability.

Yes, Tony's original prototype could produce 3 giga joules of energy per second. His 2nd perfected version could produce 4 times that at 12 GJ.

And yes, size does matter to the dimensional coupler, which is basically an enhanced micro-fusion reactor.

Basically it takes a fusion reaction and manipulates the plasma with a transdimensional quantum field that alters how much energy is converted from matter to a level rivaling an anti-matter/matter reactor, just without the danger of using anti-matter.

It's the reason why the Grakkens could have used it to make the sun go nova, back in Solar Crisis with the Grakken mothership, CG and the Nova Guyvers.

The Hyper Space Link is also based on scientific principle that higher dimensions are naturally a higher energy state and thus interfacing such a state with our lower energy state takes advantage of entropy to provide a flow of energy.

The Guyver itself is powered by this, they just call it the Bio-Boost and is limited to just the moment of activation with a limited continuous siphon from the Gravity Control Orb. So we just took that idea and made it into a system that provides the Bio-Boost continuously, complete with a natural control system of using the host to regulate the flow of energy to prevent overload.

Course we don't have the ability to manipulate dimensions, we can't even manipulat regular space/time yet. So it might as well be just magic even if it is based on actual scientific theories of higher dimensions.

I never doubted the scientific background of the HSL. I only commented on the plausibility of such a device being created. It seems to me when you're dealing with a limitless power source there would be a higher chance of blowing up the solor system perhaps even the galaxy. I think in the research and development of the HSL technoligy would have progressed into a end of the universe scenario before it was stabilized into a refined and reliable energy source. That is why I feel it is more a fantastical energy source than the D.C. Don't get me wrong I think they are both quite awsome and awe inspiring. I can only hope that if such techoligy is ever created by mankind that we don't miss-use it and destroy ourselves.

Funny that you think that considering that they thought the same about nuclear energy. Especially with the atomic bomb they worried that it could ignite the atmosphere and destroy the whole world for example.

Though I suppose that means it is only natural to think the worse of any developing technology, especially if its first application is as a weapon.

However there are many ways we could be destroyed, even if it worked exactly as we would want it to...

Like for example imagine a world with no want for energy, everything would be easy and then the economy will collapse.:roll:

Would a colapsed economy really be that bad...

Not sure where this ever went but HSL may not be so far out of reach

Not to mention that which Tesla CLAIMED (Not yet proven or reconstructed) to have powering his electric car.

Then you have Tom Bearden and his claims.

These guys http://www.lutec.com.au/

The searl effect generator. Not really sure if that is aimed at free energy or anti gravity....

This is another cool site but has not been updated in a while http://jnaudin.free.fr/

At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist there are many claims out there. And many people who would not want some of these things to come to the common house for reasons such as Zeo already stated. What billionaire would want to let the world rely on something that is gonna halt their income.

Back on track I think the plausibility of the devices talked about are quite possible. It is simply stepping out of our ignorance and exploring the unknown without the hindrance of MAN MADE LAWS of physics.
