I was reading 7 Days part 3 when i ran across Gilgamesh. Is it just a name or is there something more to it?

Gilgamesh is a W'kar reproduction in warrior guyver's world. The host for the unit is Derek prince and if you want to learn more bout him then read seven days of hell part 4.

ArchGuyver, I have read part 4 and know about Derek Prince. I wanted to know about the name. Is it just a name or is there some kind of meaning to it?

I think Brian just chose it because

1. Sounds pretty durn cool

2. Gilgamesh is a warrior that I have seen appear a few times in video games ( Final Fantasy 8 is my favorite version). I have no idea if he's based of previous lore or mythology, but I wouldn't doubt it.

I had no idea there was a character named Gilgamesh in FF 8. Though, it would have helped if i played any of the games. I haven't, but i found it interesting to find this out.

anyways gilgamesh isnt a samurai warrior. he's (like stated above) a sumerian half-god half-human hero.

appears mainly in ff5 and ff8. in ff5 he appeared as a major yet comical villain.

Yeah, while in FF8 he replaced Odin, and had 4 sword attacks to choose from. ( that was cool when he came and claimed Odins sword.)

Yeah, Gilgmesh kicked arse in ff8, but whenever I played, her only showed up during REALLY tough bosses to use either the rusted sword for one point of damage, or the Zantetsuken, which was entierly useless on bosses anyway.....

Or he showed up when fighting a single REALLY weak enamy that even your weakest character would defeat with a single blow.. and STILL used the rusted sword..
