Currently reading 'A brief history of Cults'.  It's amazing what the death toll comes to by people claiming to be prophets of Jesus, or the reincarnation himself.  Just finished the "Restoration of the Ten Commandments" cult, that ended up in more deaths than the infamous Jim Jones cult with an estimated 924.  All this because the prophecy of the Apocalypse not coming to fruition on Dec 31 1999.  Amazing what people will put themselves through

I may have mentioned this in the other threads but I'm currently reading the first book of the series A Song of Ice and Fire, A Game of Thrones.  I don't think I need to describe what kind of series this is as it is already a popular HBO mini-series going for their fourth season.  If you don't know what Game of Thrones is, in what cave have you been living on for the past 3 years?

Currently catching up on my Edgar Poe.  I was amazed by 'The unparallelled adventures of one Hans Pfall'.  Simply amazing to see science fiction written to such a detail in 1835.  I thought Jules Verne wrote the first moon mission.  I suppose I'll have to read that at some point to.  Sure, there were scientific inaccuracies, but it was amazing to see how keenly everything was taken into account.  I mean, building a sealed, pressurized chamber in the basket of the balloon to survive the vacuum of space?  Years ahead of it's time (I'm guessing).

I've been recently rereading the Vampire Hunter D novels I have. I'm now on Twin-Shadowed Knight. This might not count for this thread but I have been having a hunkering to read Marvel comics again and I want to read the whole Marvel Civil War.
