  1. Here's a subject of some controversy as to what are humans capable of? Let's start with strength. Usually when referencing how strong a character is we use multiples of man power but not everyone agrees on the figures. The predominant figure used, like in comics, etc, is that one man equals the ability to lift, with arms fully extended over one's head, a mass of up to 800 pounds. The actual world record for this type of lifting is just a little over 700 something pounds. Another real world example is the present record for a squat, basically having the weigh bar over your shoulders as you squat and then stand back up, which is 1008 pounds. That's a half ton supported by just one guy. So what do you think a human is capable of doing?
  2. No prob. . . Any other Wallpaper questions, anybody?
  3. Well considering I usually have my laptop set to 1600x1200 with my 15" screen, I have no idea what you mean by enormous Course back when I was a kid I use to put my thousand word essays, hand printed, on a single page. What can I say, I'm good with small details.
  4. Hmm, should I answer this. . . Uh, it's in the art section, under my name, and right under the old version. It's a panoramic though so make sure your desktop is not set to stretch.
  5. Hmm, getting warmer Sorry, but we're basically waiting to see if anyone is going to figure this one out on their own.
  6. Periodically updating the older fics? Into anything resembling Chronicles. . . Nope, just too many changes. It may be easier perhaps but it wouldn't result in the same quality as we're doing for Chronicles. Chronicles is really quite different, it also will combine the different branches of the fic into one single coherant story. And replacing the older fics would have consequences since Chronicles is being done very differently from all previous encarnations fics. Besides all things worth while require at least some effort.
  7. No but you are missing something
  8. You don't say
  9. Probably the success of the Van Helsing werewolf effects made them change their minds since originally they made them hairless so you can better see their muscles and stuff. But it could also be a different tribe of werewolves with different character traits or maybe they started tweaking themselves in preparation for bringing about the new species like Michael represents. Must say though Marcus changing into a big monster bat vampire was a bit unexpected though he is suppose to be the most powerful vampire.
  10. That's actually Patricide, not sure Petricide is a real word but if it is it would mean murder of bacteria , but not quite Mutronborg as confused as you would think. For example you'd note from the scenes that the CM is seen acting on its own that it accesses the host brain before it acts. Essentially using the host brain to enhance its own decision making and this is what I think allows for the Friend or Foe recognition effect. But when G1 killed Enzyme II his brain had already been ripped out so the CM had nothing but it-self to make decisions during that battle. So it could not know it was not suppose to kill Fumio. So Sho wakes up with a nasty surprise. As for the Mega Smashers, they always released a quick one second blast. It was only the older anime that made it seem longer so you could see the zoanoids getting vaporized in all its glorious detail. And they always took time to charge up. The Manga doesn't show you how long it took but it is kinda the point of an energy weapon to release its power all at once for maximum damage. The new anime just shows it in real time. So the real difference in the new anime is that the Smashers don't put a strain on the host. Unlike before since we don't see either Guyver tired or even winded after using the Smashers. Also, possibly as a side effect, the Smashers take much longer before they can be used again where as before the Guyver could use them till exhausted.
  11. Hell Yes
  12. Cool, but since we're starting over on the board, does anyone have any comments about part 1 as well? Do the two parts go well together?
  13. It should be noted that the negate attack apparently effected the Guyver's Hyper Sensors since G1 was unable to detect the zoanoids sonic attacks while under its influence. This suggest the new anime version of the Hyper Sensors are more like sonar than the 3D Radar system depicted in the Manga. Though another episode did show the two orbs can be used for 360 degreee vision which allowed G1 to look in all directions at once. As for the Guyver's own sonic Busters, the primary change was the fact he was able to use them to atomize zoanoids. This makes this version far more powerful than any previous. The ability to negate other sonic attacks is just icing on the cake. But we're far from done with the changes they made in the new anime.
  14. Yes that is one of the major changes they made. The Guyver Self Defense mode now appears to have a friend or foe recognition that is advance enough to recognize a friend is in danger and act to defend them without the host even being fully aware of what happened. The acid is also a good observation but I wasn't so much looking for the flaws in the new anime, those would need their own topic section , but rather what changes they made to how everything works like the Guyver Self Defense mode acting to defend Tetsuro being one example. There are more examples, anybody? P.S.> Largo, go watch those episodes, you're missing out on a lot Like say certain zoanoids only ever even mentioned in the novels before now.
  15. Does this problem only effect the main page or does it effect you with the other menus pages too?
  16. Okay everyone, the new Guyver anime series has made several changes to the Guyver and even the zoaforms to an extent. So lets see how observant everyone is and list what surprising changes you have noticed being demonstrated so far in the new anime series?
  17. Glad you enjoyed the fic McAvoy The fic diverges from the Manga after book 16 and by the time Sho meets up with Sean is about a year later. So yes they are a bit older. As for the Data Files, the problem is Chronicles is nearly a complete retake on the Story, so we have to do a complete retake on the Data Files. Especially since new data on the Guyver and most significantly the Gigantic require a re-adjustment to the power scales that would require more than minor changes to the original data files. Additionally the older Data Files are still valid for the original fic version so they will remain as an archive so readers can references them for those fics.
  18. Clarification: A particle beam weapon is just like a fire hose. You can add more water/particles but the real power comes from the speed the stream is fired. All particle beam weapons work this way so it is not so much my idea. The placement of the two orbs right on the chest plates just allows for them to be used to help accelerate the particle stream when fired. Otherwise they would have been placed anywhere on the body, including right next to the waist orb. Simply removing the effect of gravity would not help, particles have to be accelerated to give them more power. It would be more like dropping a rock from a high place. The gravity field will help focus and accelerate the particle stream so it is moving faster, more concentrated, and thus has more power. Particle beams are basically kinetic weapons and thus work in similar fashion to other kinetic physics like rockets, firehoses, etc where particles are streamed. The only limit is when the stream reaches light speed then you can only increase the quantity of particles being streamed but a normal Mega Smash isn't that fast while the Gigantic is close to being that fast as was shown with the beam going out into space and past the moon without its course being significantly altered. The fact the Gigantic will deactivate after firing the Hyper Smashers shows already that it uses a lot of energy so I only described the firing aspect of the beams and how the gravity orbs play a role in that as well. It wasn't my intention to exclude their function in providing power, but even with them the unit still can't maintain unit power for more than one firing of both cells at a time before the Gigantic is forced to deactivate.
  19. Officially, no not much is known except the capabilities of the Gigantic like shields, boost dimension/hyper space/teleportation jumping, weapons like the chest spike, back thrusters, number of sonic buster emitters and hyper sensory orbs, energy channeling for attacks like the power punch, and how well it compares to the four different Zoalords battled so far. But from what has been observed so far we do not believe the Gigantic can defeat Alkanphel except under certain special conditions. Physical facts, the Gigantic has three gravity control orbs with two being right on top of the Hyper Smashers. Since we know the hyper smashers are basically very powerful particle beam cannons then we know the extra gravity orbs can act as acceleration boosters increasing the speed and power of the particle stream. This combined with the increased energy discharge from the larger Smasher cells could very well mean the Hyper Smashers are more than 2x more powerful than a regular Mega Smasher beam. So to answering your question in regards to Alkanphel there are two factors that would come into play. One is the fact Alkanphel is basically dying so if they can catch him in a weakened state then they can get past his defenses. Factor 2 is a more powerful Smasher Beam will of course be more difficult to deflect and thus will be harder for Alkanphel to redirect, he might only be able to shield himself from the attack instead of redirecting it. There is a downside however, each time so far in the Manga that the full double Hyper Smash was used the Gigantic promptly self deactivate shortly after. So this will have to be a coup de grace attack or the Guyver will Risk facing Alkanphel with nothing but their standard unit. On the possible plus side the Guyvers could tag team to help wear Alkanphel down before exhausting both Guyver's Gigantic modes. But then one would have to wonder with what would happen between the two Guyvers once Alkanphel is defeated and which one would be the last to use the Gigantic.
  20. Alkanphel riveted everyone, even Guyot felt it he just was able to resist it long enough to fire the black hole attack. The only one not riveted, as you put it, was Aptom and Alkanphel promptly tried to obliterate him for it. Zoalord Telepathy is not limited to their battle form as all the Zoalords have demonstrated the ability to control zoaforms without transforming themselves first. Though it is possible that Alkanphels telepathy is even stronger in his battle form, so that could have played a factor but Guyot was too weak at that point for us to be sure. The main reason Guyot just stood their later was because he had nothing left to fight with. He had used up most of his power creating the black hole attack and so could no longer resist Alkanphel's superior power. As for the origin of the Zoacrystals, it could very well be that the Crystals shapes were changed to reflect the specific powers and abilities of each Zoalord so they would no longer resemble the ones on Alkanphel, but until the exact process is revealed we can only guess at how Alkanphel managed it.
  21. Well to some extent Alkanphel can influence the other Zoalords, after all he was made to be the head Zoalord. But Guyot trying to kill him with a black hole attack clearly shows that a strong will can still disobey him. So I actually lean towards McAvoy's estimate jedi-guyver, and btw the 4x is also a fan fic estimate as no actual estimate has been given by Takaya. Remember Alkanphel fought Guyot in his humanoid form and did not transform until he was hit by the Black Hole attack. Up to that point it looked like Guyot would not stand a chance against him. Then there is Guyot's own examples of power, he got hit by a single Mega Smash while in his full battle form and it took him a full day to recover while Alkanphel under similar circumstances was able to redirected three Mega Smasher beams back at the Guyvers with just a wave of his hand. Not to mention the statement that even all 11 Zoalords would not be able to stand against Alkanphel. True, Balcus may be exaggerating, after all he is Alkanphel's most trusted follower next to Imakarum. But the stunt Alkanphel pulled with piloting the Ark all by his lonesome shows his power exceeds 4x at the very least. Since it normally takes all 12 Zoalords to pilot the Ark. It's only his failing health and increasing need to rest that makes him seem weaker than he is but every time he does demonstrate his power it is clearly far beyond the capabilities of any of the other Zoalords. So even though he is far from his prime I think it would be a mistake to underestimate his remaining power.
  22. newtype1, you are not only new but a lazy reader. Your question has been answered. The WG fan fic has touched on parallel realities several times since the Time War fic. I.E.> Female Guyver 2, Female Warrior Guyver (You know the woman who died in the WG universe but Jason found alive in a parallel reality in the Strange World fic), Rapier Guyver, Assassin Guyver(Isis), W'Kar, etc. And that is not even going into how many times Parallel Realities were tapped in the GWOTG fan fiction with multiple references to Alternate W'Kars. Fighter Guyver was actually Greg's brother from an alternate reality in which Greg died instead of him and the armor moved to the closest DNA match. So do some reading and while you're at it read the rules, only post topics revelant to the area they are being posted. This means if you want to theorize about the multiverse then post in the science section but if you just want to think about what if's, such as for brainstorming for fan fic ideas then post in the fan fiction section of the board. As for this topic, it has been answered. Topic locked!
  23. Rapier Guyver was a fan fic creation of Owen Ward, he was never a member of the WG.com staff and only made a guest appearance in the fic because we liked his character but he sadly gave up writing. But you can still read the existing Rapier stories and data file in the Guyver Fan Archive section of the site. As for which unit is the most powerful, that is actually a complex question but Brian is right, we can't tell you at this time
  24. Hmm, close but not quite the solid proof you're thinking it is. Let's see, three volumes apart and from difference points of view, note also the injury is near his armpit which is not fully visible in the other panel, in a Manga that is known to miss details in some panels that show up in later panels. Besides the deactivation sequence is not the best to observe detail as Takaya already has lots to draw with all the unit parts flying everywhere... So nope topic not concluded, you would have to show a third panel where the area in question is fully visible for that to be proof but I'm not going to debate it anymore. You are free to believe what you want, it is a fictional character after all. But the fact Takaya shows gaps in clothing at all goes against your argument. Btw, there are parts of the Manga where the art has been altered. Besides, regenerating cloths would mean the unit constantly updates host data every single time it is activated and that would mean the host would be allowed to age and eventually grow old and die, not absolutely but it does make that a likely possibility. It would also mean the unit would allow host to acquire new scars, tattoos, etc.
  25. Okay YoungGuyver, I don't know what you mean by stances but as to the rest... The Ark may have been made from plans left by the Creators but it was made from the remains of a destroyed Relic and Bio-Engineered by Kronos. Also consider the Ark was designed to be a War Ship, I.E. it was meant for human use so its environment would not necessarily reflect what the Creators would use. On Alkanphel , the point is he was left naked. If the Creators had any concern for clothing for cultural if not biological reasons then they would have clothed him. They did not. The examples of lifeforms contained within the Relic could have simply been samples they kept from each evolutionary stage. The fact they covered widely seperate evolutionary time periods makes that the more probable case but remember G0 fought a zoanoid who took the form of a T-Rex so what was shown could also have been simply the blending of DNA from different species to produce the zoaform. It has been suggested that the Creators may not have actually ever set foot on Earth but if their telepathy is anything like Zoalord telepathy then they definitely have a range limit that needs to be explained before we start placing them too far from Earth when they conducted their experiments here. But even with vague details about the Creators we still have their artifacts of their technology to draw conclusion about their technology and culture. Many forms of science often deals with vague details, I.E.> Our knowledge of dinosaurs for example, there are few whole fossils found on any particular species but that doesn't stop science from filling in the gaps through the scientific process and reasoning. Similarly if new data is discovered I will alter my position to reflect the effect of the new information but until then I have to work with what is available and at this time that leaves me with the conclusion that regeneration of cloths is not within the purview of the Guyver Unit as I presently understand it. And yes, I agree YoungGuyver, no more debating cloths But just to play devils advocate lets discuss whether the unit would regenerate the contents of the host stomach, particularly just after a big meal. Would the host regenerate with a full stomach? (j/k)
