January 2, 201610 yr The fifth and final installment in the Phantasm series is coming out this year. Some of the effects may not look to stellar but others look wonderful and as long as it stays to to the spirit of the series with wonderful characters and an interesting story I'll be happy. Really looking forward to this one. Edited January 2, 201610 yr by Prometheus Guyver
January 4, 201610 yr Author Quirky series with a hell of a leading man (and by that I mean Angus Scrimm). Yea cant deny how wonderful this guy is. Think about it, compare The Tall Man to other horror icons. He seem rather plan compared to the likes of Freddy or Jason but Angus's performance combined with the way they shot him makes him absolutely terrifying. The mortician suit helps too. Another thing I love about the Tall Man character is that we know so little about him despite being in four movies. Thats almost unheard of for a horror character, most tell you everything you need to know in the first movie then spend all the squeals adding stuff. But not in Phantasm, for every detail we get we end up asking more questions. Phantasm often reminds me of some of H.P. Lovecraft's stories. Edited January 4, 201610 yr by Prometheus Guyver
January 5, 201610 yr Plus I love the fact that as you watch the series, you truly start to understand the scale of what the Tall Man is doing.
January 6, 201610 yr Those long, stalking strides. Heheheh. Spoilers Also, they finally off him at the end of 2... so what happens at the start of 3? A new one simply appears, gets rid of the corpse of his predecessor and continues where he left off. That was absolutely brilliant and terrifying - kind of like when the Ginosaji breaks his spoon... and drops it... and for a moment it's like 'omg, maybe he's gonna stop'... and then he opens his coat and oh no, oh no, oh no...
