No. Almost never. I use the term anime or cartoon. But thats about it. I get corrected by anime fans all of the time for it. I think its just their way of not wanting to admit that they do have an obsession with cartoons seeing as all cartoons are animated.

When talking about any animation in real life I only use the Russian equivalent of the term "animated cartoons" - "мультики" (from lat.: multiplicatio) - something like a hypocorism of "animated films".

Not only because some people still don't know what "anime" means, but more because I don't think that the animation needs more than one name.

But I have "Anime" and "Japanese animation" written right on my Guyver World forum board

I always use "Japanese Animation" because I'm allergic to weeaboos and anybody else that insists on using Japanese words for anything that is from Japan.

Sorry, I'm old school like that.
