Mirabilis Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I don't know what's wrong with me. I've been MIA with anything pertaining to anime for a long time. Almost since last Feb. I feel like anime just doesn't cut it anymore and I hate it. I want my passion back. I've tried various new/short animes but nothings been keeping my interest. I think I need a good fantasy adventure action anime. Something like Yu Yu Hakusho, InuYasha or Bleach. I don't know. I haven't been able to find anything. Any suggestions? Quote
river_chaos Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Have you tried Fairy Tail yet? Hellsing Ultimate? Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 With the examples provided, you are seemingly looking for the newest popular Shonen series with swords and fighting, and not really a typical "Fantasy" series ( sword and sorcery)... But, I do have a few to offer up: Nanatsu No Taizai - The Seven Deadly Sins - Season 1 of the anime is complete, and it caught a bit too much up to the Anime, so it just stopped for now. The manga is still on going and is pretty fun. This might be the closest thing you are looking for. Arslan Senki - Heroic Legend of Arslan - Based on the newest manga, and despite some animation quality issues ( Rumors that the Blu Ray releases will be a lot better), it's a pretty great story still. Though quite serious with some light hearted moments to... But most serious. Season 1 is complete. Garo The Animation - NOT The Crimson Moon (newest and incomplete). A good mixture of some dark and lightheartedness. You don't need to know anything about the Garo toku series as it is set in medieval times. Overlord - Another "Player gets stuck in a game" with a few twists. It's a power fantasy series, with some action and humor. I quite enjoyed it, as it doesn't take itself too seriously. Season 1 is complete. Sword Art Online - Seasons 1 and 2 complete ( movie coming). The series that made the "Stuck in a Game" too popular... Takes itself a little too seriously sometimes, but the first 2 story arcs are pretty good. Log Horizon - season 1 and 2 complete. Another "Stuck in a Game" series... But done much better than others. Quite a bit more humorous and isn't as serious as SAO. Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - Not your typical good vs bad series, and a little older (though not too old). Season 1 is complete. As a note, any of the series that I mentioned "Season 1", none of them have had (as of this post) any season 2's announced yet... But seemed awfully popular and have more material to pull from, so a second season is a possibility... But their current story arcs are at a "complete" state. Quote
Mirabilis Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 Thanks for all the suggestions. Yeah, I've finished SAO, Hellsing Ultimate, and Attack On Titan. Pretty good stuff. I'll definitely check out this Overlord. I should've clarified. Really any anime that has to due with the fantasy world. Anything from Fushigi Yuugi, to Slayers, to InuYasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach etc. I thought about checking Fary Tail out, but it's episode numbers does intimidate me. I'll still check some of these out though. Quote
xfool Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 a personal favorite of mine, its a bit old, but a great fantasy anime with amazing character development. Quote
Mirabilis Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Yeah, I finished the twelve kingdoms around last feb. I was sort of disappointed in it's conclusion. But it was overall enjoyable. Quote

xfool Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) this is kinda interesting, an odd blend of modern/military and fantasy with some humor without being silly. Edited January 13, 2016 by xfool Quote
