Depends which version of the Guyver you're talking about to know exactly. But all envovle the first Enzyme obletering his body and his brain.

The control medal with what little remained of his body regrew the host and reimplated the hosts memory. This on some level is genetic coming from the DNA of the bio-material itself (as seen by Sho's clone which knew to go to his school and tried to relive his life) and the control medal itself.

Well after Enzyme ripped out the control metal the guyver went out of control and started devouring/absorbing Sho. Whether the booster creature attacked Enzyme out of instinct or because of Sho's desire to protect his friends we we may never truly know. The creature spawned from his arm was a mix of Sho's memories and its own predatory nature so its possible that this would be the case for the one Sho became. But as i said we may never know.

But either way after being soaked in Enzyme's blood both the booster creature and Sho were destroyed. I would say it's at this point that Sho truly died. The Sho born from the control metal is a clone. But that doesn't make him any less Sho. He has all his memories and personality intact.

He definitely died. His physical body died fighting enzyme. The control metal must act as an external back up to the brain. Recreating the body and implanting the memories. He's still 100% sho, just in another body

I suppose we'll never truly know whether or not Sho was still alive while the Guyver creature was devouring his body. I'd like to believe that he died right after the control metal was ripped out. He suffered major brain damage from Enzyme's claws gouging into his skull, so maybe the massive trauma did him in before he had to suffer the same fate as Guyver II/Risker. The thought of Sho being eaten alive in his last moments would only make things more tragic. I really hate to say this, but the original Sho really got a raw deal. "Sigh"
