Guest Diespiter Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 DVD has been out for a long time now. I'm beginning to wonder when stores will discontinue its use. I like DVD and I would like to see it stay around another decade. But alot of corporations have mentioned that it won't be around long before year, 2020 comes around. I've also noticed some movies and anime shows are only being released on Blu Ray. So I think now is the time that DVD is beginning to sink below into the void of being an official dead technology; heck it was obsolete years ago after Sony's PS3 released in early 2007. so will any of you miss it once it is gone? Salkafar Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 No. Blu-Ray is like DVD's but evolved, and according to some they are the last hard-ware based media generation before it really becomes too inefficient to sell anything besides software. Quote
LordSpleach Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Nah. I'm worried more about Gaming publishers trying to go digital only. 1 Quote
RazorLaser Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I collect them, so yes I will miss them. Quote
*YoungGuyver Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I prefer the physical copy. I like to choose it from my shelf. I like my library 1 Quote
H222G981 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 So, here's hoping that they will keep the physical mediums around. I mean, so long they keep making money off of it, they shouldn't have a reason to retire it yet, right? Quote
