*Chernaudi Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 All that I know is that it's raining here right now, and there's bad storms forecasted for AL and MS today. My day itself has been OK, I guess. I got a phone call earlier from my brother that he got a flat tire on the Jeep because he ran over, of all things, a pair of scissors in Walmart's parking lot. I posted a thread about femininity vs masculinity in Science and Philosophy, and mentioned a few things about myself and my views on the subject. Other than that, I haven't done too much yet today aside from help my brother with grandma's breakfast and stuff. Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Yeah, when I used to work at Wal-Mart...for the 3 years that I was there, I used to have to pick up trash out in the parking lots. People don't seem to like using the garbage cans out on the lot, they just throw it in the parking lot instead. I have seen people get hit by speeding trucks in the parking lot, real bloody mess. Never saw anyone die. But yeah, I've pushed carts and picked up trash. I'm really sorry about your brother's tire. That can be really frustrating. I have never taken well to getting a flat tire over something someone threw on the ground when they should have thrown in the garbage. It could have just fell out, but you never know. Still frustrating thing to happen. Tires can get expensive. Maybe the damage to the tire isn't too great and you can get it patched up. Real pain when that happens. Did he have a spare? Its almost time for lunch. Looking forward to it. Did not eat break fast. 1 Quote
*Chernaudi Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 He had a spare, but he had no jack, so he had to call my father. He's still no home yet, so I don't know what's going on there as of now. Quote
*Chernaudi Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Well, my brother still isn't home. He finally got the jack he needed to change on to the spare, and the spare went flat, so he's with his father now to get the tire changed again. Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 You know. Its surprising how fast your day can turn into a nightmare. Not that mine has yet.I've started feeling a little uptight. I just have small periods where I get some anxiety.Sometimes that ruins my day, but I'm hoping this is not the case. I know I'm going to get through my day and I'm not going to let anyone beat me down. I think its great to have some positive thinking in life. I want to do things I've never done before. I want to take my life further than what I have. I want to as far as I can go. If something happens that I see as bad. I think its something I need to learn from and know that I will get through it. I should know that it will make me stronger in the end. I want to be strong for the people that care. I don't want to go out being bitter. I'd like to share that message with everyone. Quote
*Chernaudi Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Jeep will be back home soon. My brother got in touch with my uncle and he got a new tire. Ironically, the tires were due to be replaced. This would be the last summer for those tires, and we have the four new ones here for it, but they're not mounted on rims yet. Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I thought everyone should see this. Its about believing in yourself. I actually felt better after I finished watching it. I felt happier after watching it. So I'd like to show this to everyone and I hope you find the same meaning in it that it gave me. http://youtu.be/BcXYB-4kOl4 1 Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Here's a motivational video of Arnold, The last video I will post. We can all talk about it or discuss it if you want. http://youtu.be/R1JBQMXbN2k Quote
*PrimalNemesis Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) Today I am mainly frustrated because I found out someone had tried to break into my home a second time. I live in a not so friendly neighborhood, so this is to be expected I guess. The other thing that has got me stressing is my grandmother's ailing health. She has played the mother role in my life since day one. My biological mother was mentally ill and abusive, so my grandmother stepped up to the plate after my father got sole custody and helped raise me. It pains me greatly to see her in her current condition. Hopefully she will get better over time. "Sigh" Edited April 29, 2014 by Sevastian Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Hey, Savastian. I want to thank you for stepping forward and taking part. You have shown great courage by coming to this thread. I know how it feels to have someone try and break into your house and steal things. Someone broke into our house and took some things. Nothing of great value but my wife and I felt violated. I can only think that's what you're feeling. It keeps you on your toes thinking when its going to happen again. I wish that weren't the case. Some day that person is going to get caught and tried in court one day. The person who broke into our house is still out there. I am very sorry for that your grandmother is ill and I wish her well even though I have never met her and I'm positive she's a very loving ,generous ,kind hearted person that really loves you, but the best I thing I can offer is be there for her and talk to her. Tell her you are there for her and to call you if she needs anything. As your friends, we all want to be here for you. I offer you all the support I can give. I can really relate to what you're going through. I watched my grandfather fall apart as his father died from alzheimers. I never saw him cry until the funeral. It was very heart breaking. My wife's grandmother recently passed away and she was very torn up about, that happened this February, she was 76 years old and my great grandfather passed away in 2009, he was 87. I, myself have been raised by different family members. I was passed between my mother and my father until I was 15 years old and my father had decided he was done with me. He and my half sister have since disowned me from that side of the family. It has been the one thing in my life that was hard to get over. 1 Quote
*Jess♥ Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 My grandmother is also not well. She seems to have dementia. I know she is still the same person. it's odd and a little sad. But I have my own beliefs in life and death so I don't worry too much. I can't say that it helps anybody else, it's just my personal experience. I believe that people are more than the sum of their parts. my grandma is more than just her body. she is part of me and everyone she has ever spoken to. Any time I want to talk to her, I just have to close my eyes. I still think she is mostly healthy anyway, it's just her mind. I wish they would legalise cannabis as I understand it can help dementia greatly. Quote
*Chernaudi Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 My grandma's been better than she's been in quite a while since we had to send her to the hospital because of high blood sugar. We though that she had a stroke at first, but it was mostly high blood sugar making her groggy. She's on new medication, and she is also suffering from dementia, but she's on medication for that. As for me, my biggest concern is that some of my friends were in the firing line for the severe storms, though they've all pulled though OK. This severe storm stuff kinda scares me, especially when my family and friends are in the line for it. I even talked about a dream I had that I just had randomly one night where a storm demolished my house and I was alone in the abyss. Very surreal and dark, and it just happened randomly. Thank god for it not being real and me being on Celixia now. I also kinda fear fire, because we had a house fire that caused part of my house to be remodeled (work that was long awaited anyways). Fire did very little actual damage, but it was enough to displace us until all that stuff got fixed. But since I got home and some stuff got worked on, things in general have been better for me. Only thing I'm frustrated over is not being able to get back to work. I have a job waiting for me, but I haven't been called in for it and I haven't been given a definite date for it to start. Quote

I'm glad to hear that your grandmother has been doing better and that your friends didn't get hurt in the storm. I know how frustrating it can be that your job hasn't called you back or given you a start back date. That's disappointing on their end but I'm sure they are going to call you with some good news. Guest Jupiter Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Today is my day off, so not a lot is going on today. My wife went to her college class out of town, and my daughter is spending the day with my grandmother, and my son just laid down for a nap. So instead, I watched this video and decided to share it with everyone. I found it very entertaining. advice from Tony Robbinshttp://youtu.be/WPh6rLjsCp8 Quote
*Chernaudi Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I just got up less than an hour ago. Actually, I got up shortly after 9:00 to make grandma her breakfast, but I was so out of it that when I got done I went back to sleep. I went to sleep at 5:00 this morning after being up for quite a few hours with only a brief nap. So I'm still a bit out of it now, but I'm listening to some LiaNight covers on YouTube so that should hopefully wake me up. At least I don't have a pounding sinus headache like I usually do when it rains like it did the past couple of days. Quote
river_chaos Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 This morning I just got new that a good friend of mine from high school was killed in Sunday's tornado I found out from my dad, then I found the casualties list, and confirmed it through posts by friends in the area. I can barely talk, let alone type, about this without becoming a complete wreck. A classmate is having to notify my professors why I can't come to class today, and even my bosses at work are telling me to take the day off. He was the best of friends to everyone. During my brother's game nights, he'd talk to me about Pokémon or the latest anime episodes he'd seen; we'd discuss games our friend group wasn't interested in or upcoming manga releases and if they were worth the money spent. We even saw each other at the first A-Kon trip I took with a university club. He would have graduated college this month, probably gone where he could be his all out otaku self at work. Quote
*Chernaudi Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I'm sorry Riv. Sounds like he was really close to you. I lost my grandma on my father's side a year in a half ago, and though I wasn't especially close to her, she was still my grandma and I was a total wreck and I had to take almost a week off of work. So I can't imagine what you're going though now. My condolences Quote
*PrimalNemesis Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I am very sorry for your loss Riv. My thoughts will be with you. Quote
river_chaos Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Thanks, guys. I think I'm still in the denial stage; his death hasn't really sunk in yet. I'll be returning to classes and work tomorrow, hopefully stable enough not to do something drastic to someone. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 River, that is awful, I feel very upset to hear that and I have tears in my eyes for your loss. Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 River, Im sorry for your loss, you have my deepest sympathy on the passing of your friend. I would like to offer you my condolences. I can understand your frustrations and pains in your heart at this time.Be strong and let all the love and strength that your friends on here guide you through this difficult time. I wish there was something that could be said to take your pain away and bring back your friend. Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 This guy is really a great inspiration. http://youtu.be/nFQzXJw4bQM Quote
*Chernaudi Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 When I want to escape some of the stresses I face, I do various things. One of which is playing video or PC games. I'm a believer that violence belongs in games and not in the real world. I often play Gran Turismo 4 (though I wish I had 6, but I'd need a PS4 for that, and I don't have the money for it yet), but that's just to have fun. A more serious stress reliever is the old Medal of Honor games. Who wouldn't get a kick out of bringing a halt to the Nazi war machine? Besides, in Medal of Honor: Frontline and European Assault, most of the guys you face are from the SS, the Nazi Party's para-military organization that ran the Gestapo and ran the concentration and death camps. What do you think I'd do in the game seeing the SS insignia on these guy's uniforms? And then there's Postal 2. I know that it's a controversial game, and with that fact not withstanding, a fairly crappy game at that (glitchy as all hell and crashes often, among other flaws), but it does make fun of the more jaded and cynical aspects of our world today, buy having you play as the Postal Dude, a rather jaded and cynical person. You can get though the game without harming anyone or anything, but you're clearly not really encouraged to take that route. Why? The town of Paradise is anything but what it's name implies. It's a hellish cesspool that is badly laid out, full of violent protesters, hate groups and criminals that want to kill the Postal Dude while he's doing mundane errands (cashing his pay check, returning a library book, picking up a package from the town parcel center, etc). The town is also a dump, scary music and sounds play though the game, and signs and advertizements in the game showcase the games sarcastic, sardonic humor. The whole game's just absurd beyond belief. But it's the stupid stuff and the absurdity that makes it fun and entertaining. And what other game can we name where you can make the main character walk into a cactus so he can release a stream of profanities and catch phrases (Hey, now I can't feel my legs!, Ow, so that's what it feels like!, etc), tight-rope walk on telephone wires, and run into so many LOL errors in the game, such as disjointed dialogue and programming errors, most of which were probably intentional. Another big stress reliever for me is music and dreaming. I'm addicted to a couple of Jane Child songs called "Welcome to the Real World" and "I Don't Wanna Fall in Love", as well as some Cher songs and Within Temptation songs. I also dream about my fan fic and my OC's in it, namely Lia and Camel, as well as a variation of the scene in the Guyver manga where we're introduced to Shizu, but in Sho's place is Camel. That'll feature in my fan fic at some point. So that's some of the stuff I do to relieve my stress and unwind. Quote
Guest Jupiter Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Things I do to relieve stress. 1.) Listen to about 30 songs or more by the Deftones, during the day and at night before bed. 2.) Talk to my wife about my issues. We exchange stress stories.Do what married couples do. 3.) Sleep helps. 4.) I watch movies and tv shows to get away from reality. Sometimes old anime shows that I have helps me as a getaway. 5.) day dreaming. Least helpful. 6.) Go somewhere, leave town for a few hours. 6.) Talk to a friend. Thats all I can think of. Quote
