So as you know I am a Gundam fan and would love to see a legit Gundam film, possibly a trilogy following the original storyline, with minor changes. Of course this isn't real and is only fandom, however I've thought a lot about this being a writer myself and came up with a fan based cast. I am curios to know who you would want to see cast as any Gundam character or what you think of the ones listed below.

Heroes:
1) Amuro Ray (Shia Labeouf)
2) Fraw Bow (Danielle Panabaker)
3) Hayato Kobayashi (Shin Koyamada)
4) Kai Shiden (Tobey Maguire)
5) Ryu Jose (Anthony Mackie)
6) Mirai Yashima (Anne Hathaway)
7) Sayla Mass (Keira Knightley)
8) Bright Noa (Ben Barnes)
9) Matilda Ajan (Natalie Portman)
10) Sleggar Law (Chris Hemsworth)
11) General Revil (Tom Hanks)

Villains:
1) Char Aznable (Paul Walker)
2) Rambal Ral (Ewan McGregor)
3) Crowley Hamon (Eva Green)
4) Garma Zabi (Hayden Christensen)
5) Gihren Zabi (Casper Van Dien)
6) Dozle Zabi (Sean Bean)
7) M'quve (Leonardo Dicaprio)
8) Lalah Sune (Sonam Kapoor)
9) Kycilia Zabi (Lena Headey)
10) Sovereign Degwin Sodo Zabi (Ed Harris)

Also I am curios if any of you would want a cross series into the film, or just the U.C. timeline, or just your favorite timeline. Maybe even cross characters into different timelines, though I myself would not want that. How successful do you think a Gundam series would be?

I'll be posting some pictures for cross references, I think some of them could really pull of the role especially Shia, Paul and Casper I think they would really nail it on the head, as well as a few others.

Shia Labeouf as Amuro and Danielle Panabaker as Fraw

-Paul Walker as Char
-Ewan McGregor as Rambal Ral
-Eva Green as Crowley

P.S. sorry for the multiple responses, I'm having a difficult time with my internet and it's freezing a lot on me so I apologies for the nuisance. ^^;

Good God Man!  They already released a live action Gundam film years ago and they failed miserably.  Look up G-Savior.  Even Tomino, the original author, voiced his disapproval of the movie.  No offense, but I don't want Gundam to be polluted with a touch of hollywood.  They are never faithful to the original source.  I want to remember the Original Gundam as the classic they were.

Yeah I know G-Savior was the Gundam version of the Guyver films. This is a hypothetical thing, if they did make the films right, keeping the charms and wonders of the U.C. timeline in it I think it could be done fairly well. Of course it's not real .even though if hollywood wanted to they could do it. Though I also respect your integrity to the originals and your desire to see it untainted by greedy corprat men trying to use one of your favorite genres as a cash cow for a quick buck.

It has a name with some recognisability.  It'll get made.  Every movie that is made now has a name that is already recognizable to the audience, because that is the only thing people are buying tickets for.

I am wondering if there will be a 'Scrabble' movie?  Or how about 'Watching paint dry'?  It will be a really sad day when 'Movie' the film is finally released in theaters.

That being said, a good Gundam movie can be done.  Gundam at it's best has always been an essay, or exploration of war in some facet.  Every core story (that i have seen) has three sides to the conflict-two directly at war, and a third arising to try and end it.  There is always a young hero in the elite pilot list.  Operations in oth orbit and the ground.  How hard could it be to stick to these vague elements?

um, that was rhetorical.

But in theory, someone -could- do it right

Well, I'm not saying that all hollywood movies are crap.  Look at Death Note.  It was slightly faithful and I did enjoy it.  But I don't think it would be right for them to recreate the One Year War as a live action movie.  Then they would have cast a very young Lalah and portray the pedo tendencies of Char.  They don't call him the ped comet for nothing.

If ever they do a Gundam movie, I would prefer that they either stick to the original material (which hollywood never tend to do), or create a new story altogether.  You have to remember, there are many Japanese who worship the Gundam franchise, and any wrong move will spur the wrath of legions of Otaku.  I remember a lot of them idolizing Matilda so they have to be very careful who they cast her.  I have to admit, G-saviour wasn't exactly purely Japanese made.  It probably failed because it tried to distance itself from the franchise by not even mentioning the word Gundam.  Wait no, it was just poorly written.

Really? Why do you think that LS? I figured Shia could really pull of a techno nerd kid who, through circumstances beyond his control, finds himself fighting in a War that he doesn't fully understand. I think Paul could pull off the villain, that is the villain to the villain. Or the villains bad guy. I've seen him in films playing as a really bad jerk, as a know it all cop, and a bad cop as well. I think he could pull it off. But if it were up to you, who would you prefer?

Durendal, I don't think they would have to make Lalah be a little teenage girl, maybe a few years younger then Char, around 17-19 I think it'd be reasonable, and not really all that pedoish. But again simply my opinion lol.

Well both Shia and Paul have both played the cocky upstarts and I've only seen them in those roles.

Granted Shia has been in roles where he gets thrusted into a war aka Transformers (haven't seen Eagle Eye yet), but he's just a kid that get a lucky shot and never matures or actually gains any skill. With Paul Walker, I've never seen him do a revenge role, let alone see him being a tactical genius with something other than CAR CHASES.

As far who would be better for their roles, I would have to do research cause I'm no film student that truly analyzes the actors and everything else. This just seems as bad as having Ben Affleck as the new Batman.

Eagle Eye was pretty good in my opinion, I think Shia could really pull off an Amuro, as far as Paul doing a revenge role, yeah I haven't seen him do a role as such, however we also mustn't underestimate an actors potential or abilities either. What I gather from both these actors is they were both given roles neither have ever done before, and they both managed to pull them off, fairly well at that. They're no b.s. actors.

Take for example, Ledgers Joker. No one thought he'd be able to pull it off, and that he was a horrible miscast. Then they saw the film and were blown away by his performance. These guys become the people they are cast as and I think these two really have what it would take for that. Granted they also would be able to pull off the look as well as the vibes of said characters whereas Ben Affleck...well he's no Christian Bale I'll have to wait and see how he manages before I give my vote on that one.

If it were up to me, I would rather that they cast an unknown for the lead roles, especially for Amuro and Char.  Similar as to how actors are afraid of being typecast, the true can also be said on the viewers perspective.  For example, we are already typecasting Ben Affleck as Daredevil even before he puts on the cowl.  besides, big names in movies usually means big salary, leaving less budget for the other more important aspects of the movie.  How many times have we seen big stars being cast in famous characters only to have that movie flop?
