And right now, I am withholding translations because I am a total prick!

Piracy is only allowed if you are either Johnny Depp or someone who can stretch their arms like rubber and answers to the name of Luffy.

Sorry, usually I'm trying not to answer with only smileys, but I can't hold it any longer

Sigh you know you shouldn't give a lecture about the evils of piracy to some one that never downloads anything but one manga because it isn't sold in shops and in include an admission of pirating something readily available to buy legally, is weakens you stance. Regardless, I don't care to debate piracy laws, morality or anything else of that nature here or in general.

Enzyme...I'm going to say this very clear so you can understand, you are under some kind of weird illusion that you think just because you don't hit a download button you are not downloading anything, guess what? you are still downloading, from the moment you open your web browser you consume bandwidth in order to bring you to the page you desire, if you go to youtube and watch a video you are still downloading it even if you don't hit a download button, so even if you don't hit download something it does not mean you aren't, I learned that the hard way when managing my ISP's bandwidth cause they used to have a limit of how much I could consume.

Second of all, it does not matter if the manga is not sold in shops where you live it still does not give you the right to just take it without buying for it, that is stealing no matter how much you want to sugar coat it, they guys here at the advocacy are providing a way for you to get the manga AND the translation digital copy for a very nice price they are even helping you with an option to pay for it without using paypal, western union is a good option and yet you stop there cause you don't have a photo ID? are you old enough to vote? then get yourself a voters ID or whatever it is called in English, it is free (at least where I live) if not get yourself a student ID.

The guys here are not going to give you anything after volume 30 for free so if you don't have the money to pay for it then I suggest saving up or getting a job, if you don't want to do that and still think you deserve to have an illegal copy of the manga just because you can't afford it then you have a serious problem and are acting like a spoiled and selfish douchebag, that or you are a troll, am I being rude? I don't care, this is not a lecture, this is plain and simple fact, IF YOU ARE WATCHING SOMETHING THAT IS NOT FOR FREE THEN THAT IS STEALING PLAIN AND SIMPLE, the guys here are doing their best to keep things legal here in a similar way that crunchy roll does with their anime streaming services in order to keep supporting the author and their are not going to give special treatment to anybody just because "they can't afford it", feel free to ignore anything I said if you want, I could really care less, I just wanted to say my piece and I did.

Odin, I need to point out that the thread title was written by me when i split it from hte pre-order thread.

I was struggling to figure out what to call it, perhaps i should change it...

Ah I see, then I apologize to him about what I said about the title but everything else still stands, thinking that he should get stuff for free just because he can't afford it is selfish.

The problem is not that I can't afford it, I can just scrap together the money on the £2 a week allowance I'm given, the problem is that I lack a method of paying.  And to answer your question, no I'm not old enough to vote I'm still a dependant minor...I thought that would have been obvious from my previous posts.  And for the record I'm a girl.

now we have some context.

things make a little more sense now.

The general assumption here is that we are young adult males because of the themes.

after all guyver is a shonen manga with lots of blood and killing.

anyhow, the fact you are a minor does explain a lot, but seriously, if you ask our help, we are more than willing to help a fellow guyver fan.

I can sympathise with somebody having difficulties and It's not like we block people from posting links to RAWs etc.

we all have financial difficulties, that is for sure.

people just need to understand that guyver advocacy has a large responsibility. we tried to get guyver an english release but that hasn't worked well so we need another tactic to get people buying guyver manga and enjoying it in english.

not because the publishers decided to do it but because it is the right thing to do.

we actually have it within our power to improve the cashflow of the guyver franchise and that may not be a huge difference, but it does increase the likelihood of more guyver projects in the future, like the figma's, like an anime or a movie or whatever.

plus, there are generous people on this forum. there have already been a couple of members who have donated books.

if they see a member who is truly in need, they might be willing to help out, but it depends on what attitude is present.

If people sympathise with you they might offer to help, but that all depends on how you present yourself.

I understand your reasoning and I was trying to explain my situation but it is due to that assumption and other reasons that I was not particularly keen on explaining my exact situation.

Enzyme-eternal, you could always ask a parent or someone with the ability to use paypal to help you out. I always used to ask my mum to help me out with ordering stuff online when I couldn't. After i saved up and could give her the money of course

We don't want to withold the translations from you like a super secret club, we just want for it to go into the hands of people who really support the cause

Yes I understand that, I've been working it out with Ryuki and I've asked my cousin to pay for it for me and I'll pay him back when I can and he will be the one that gets the actual book since he can read Japanese and I owe him for getting into manga and Guyver in the first place.

Sigh, ok I guess I should explain why I was being such a bitch about this whole thing.

I love Guyver, it is a great series and it has had a big influence on my life.  I got interested in science because of Guyver, in particular biology, and the characters are really interesting and well I guess I don't need to explain why Guyver is good as a series here but on a personal level it means a lot to me.  So when it seemed like I was going to loose it because of my situation well it felt like um well the carrot on the string I guess.

Plus well...Mizuki was one of my first crushes and well I didn't want my actual situation to come out, no pun intended, because of all this.

Yeah so pretty much everything I said regarding this situation was fuelled by...the implications of my above statement, so um yeah.

That statement has no implications regarding this.  It doesn't sway things one way or another.  It's just another reason for you to like Guyver, along with the biology and science love of it.  We all love guyver.  But the financial matter is the financial matter.

Personally, there will come a day when technology brings to complete collapse of the economy.  After that, people will be working on the projects that they love for the sake of the projects, and we can all enjoy the fruits of them for free.  Until that day, Takaya needs to make rent.

I had an idea at work today, why don't we enter a buisiness relationship with Takaya himself, where we built a website that has internet subscriptions.  Anyone with a yearly(?) subscription can view the manga online, much like itunes, from anywhere around the world.  There could be a Japanese section, and of course an English.  Other languages could follow, after a translation.  Russion would be nice.

This all depends on our ability to contact Takaya personally and form that buisiness relationship.  That way we could get around the whole shipping costs issue.

I agree with your sentiments youngguyver.

A purely online service where we can deal directly with Takaya Sensei and send him payments.

That would be much more preferable, but up til now any efforts to contact Yoshiki Takaya have been fruitless.

also....

Unfortunately we need to be aware of things like this - JManga Shuts Down
