Trust me, there are bound to be people that will do just that, some people just love to put the blame on what ever they feel like to blame for current events, no matter how illogical it may be which angers me greatly, I just hope that members from our site that are from Russia are safe and sound, not much that we can do for the meteors falling tho.

I heard about the meteorite on the radio Friday morning; I think they said I would've been able to see it from the UK. They didn't however, say it would hit the earth! I think they actually said it will be the closest meteorite to fly that close to the earth WITHOUT colliding. pfft.

Shame about all the injuries. But it must've been pretty cool to see

No, that meteor been said to be the size of a Olympic size swimming pool, and is passing us right now. The one that hit has been estimated to the size of a bus, and apparently no saw that one coming.

Yeah. I asked Cannibal on Facebook if he was OK.

I'm fine, thanks :neko:

The incident happened 1600 kilometres from me.

According to media, 1142 people was injured, mainly because of glass broken by the shock wave. 48 people was hospitalized.

Oh okay, thanks for correcting me. Then this really is crazy! What are the chances. Good to see you're alright though Cannibal

I laughed.  On the radio Monday they had a guy from NASA reminding us that the asteroid wouldn't hit on Friday, but we need more money to watch these things better because 'we live in a cosmic shooting gallery'.  He said we'd eventually get hit.  Never mentioned anything about Thursday though

Reminds me of that other two times Russia has gotten an insane impact. One was the 1908 Tunguska region event, which sadly we have little record due to the chaos due to Russia's wars, an even older one was in Helsinki between Russia and Finland. There have been other explosions in the past, but due to their nature records don't point them out now as such and we can only speculate.
