*Jess♥ Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 wow, I just found an interesting article that characterises the debate over JJ Abrams and his work. http://captainapril.blogspot.co.uk/2010/01/why-i-hate-jj-abrams-and-his-stupid.html?zx=74a4106f9d74c66e I never realised it caused so much trouble in the Star Trek community. Imagine that happening in our community? I mean, does anyone remember the occasional bit of upset about the 2005 Guyver tv series? Quote
*guyverfan Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) yep, for it to happen in the guyver community, first it would need another 25,000,000 followers! alot of fans would criticize his work, but do they say that they enjoyed his other work, like lost? howabout alias? anyone watches fringe? *YoungGuyver Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Two last points, Scotty DID take the perspective of space moving. Just old Scotty, not young Scotty. It was Mr Scott's equation that old Spock was using, and passing on to young Scott. Experience, it makes a difference. And two, I almost cried in the begining of that movie. the death scene. So many death scenes have been wasted in Startrek. So many make me feel nothing if not left down. If he can bring that kind of sadness to Fumio's death, I'd be a happy man. Hell, Murikami's, or anyones! Spock and Kirk and fought before, but to give Spock the weakness of his mother, and to fight over that, imagine what perspective he would take when Sho decides to protect Mitsuki. One of my favorite episodes of the 2005 series was near the end, when the humans were in hiding while Chronos ruled the world. You could see that everyone in the house was developing cabin fever. To see Shizu slowly knitting her sweater, then finally lose it in the end was great drama. I love seeing that kind of drama. That is why I will defend Abrams. There is a CHANCE that he could do it justice. On the other hand, he could screw it up completely. Either way Now who wants to talk about what Ewe Boll would do to it? A man that couldn't care about the quality of the movie for nothing 1 Quote

But the point was that the very foundation of warp theory is that space is warped. i.e. stretched and moved. That must be stuff for elementary school children in star trek times. 1 Quote

*V Guyver Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 wow, i only just realized that dark hero was made over 22years ago, jeez, time to send a letter to jj abrams and hope he agrees on making a remake! after seeing how he's brought back the star trek franchise to life with a great action flick, with a second one aswell almost finished, i think he'll be the best man for the job! jj abrams? you just made me throw up. how could you think that jumped up imbecile could treat the guyver franchise with ANY respect after what he did to the star trek franchise? http://lunduke.com/?p=517 Don't get me wrong, if that was a standalone action flick and not meant to do justice to a franchise spanning 30 years, intended to address societal issues in a futuristic setting.... it would be just fine. I am sure many people like it. but when you consider that he was supposed to be doing justice to a much loved franchise, and he completely tore it to pieces, I don't even want to imagine what horrors that guy would do to guyver. I'm sorry, that is off topic. I just got very upset at the suggestion of THAT GUY touching something that is so precious to me. Okay, how about Micheal bay, maybe Uwe Bull... just let me pull of up a list of names, I'm sure I can twist that knife a little deeper friend. 1 Quote
