*zeo Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 So who, besides me, has watched the Christmas Special "Voyage of the Damned"? Quote
Guest DekaRed Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 hell of a bump, to report that the bbc has announced tonight, that Matt Smith will be replacing david tennant as the new doctor who. smith, at 26, becomes the youngest actor to play the timelord. shooting for tennant's final 4 episodes, the 4 specials, begins this week, not long after his recent back surgery. pictures and more info on matt smith to follow. Guest DekaRed Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 ok i promised pics but i also found the interview that he did about taking on the role i not sure bout him yet. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 yeah i saw this today on doctor who confidential. I don't like this guy, he looks like a mutant paul mcgann. he looks a bit twisted like he has some vindictive streak in him. it doesn't matter though. I been going off doctor who lately anyway. Quote
LordSpleach Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 He just looks like some weird Doctor Who villain, not THE Doctor. Quote
*zeo Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 The Bionic Woman (Michelle Ryan) and Doctor Who team up, cool. Though with those things chasing them I bet she wishes she was still bionic He just looks like some weird Doctor Who villain, not THE Doctor. Yeah, my sentiments exactly Quote
Hyper_Guyvantic Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I thought I read somewhere that David was also leaving because he had back surgery. Which if it is true is understandible on why he wants to leave. The girl that I am interested in is alittle upset that he is leaving though, but she is also anxious in seeing this new Doctor. Which I am also interested in seeing. Mainly to see if he stacks up to David. Quote
Bobby Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Those flying creatures are not nearly as ugly as the creatures in my "Snowglobe 7" book. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 elaborate on your post please bobby. first of all, how is it relevant to this topic. second of all, perhaps you could provide a picture so people can see. I'm a fan of doctor who and i don't know what the hell snowglobe 7 is. I had to type it into google. I can now understand why dekared get's upset with you. be a bit more clear please. Quote
Bobby Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 "Snowglobe 7" is a Doctor Who Book. Features The Doctor & Martha. Takes place in the year 2099 in Saudi Arabia. I don't think there are pictures of the creatures in the book. But I will say that they look like a combination of the Racnoss and a polar bear. Quote
Guest CompleteDeka Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 well here we are, the first pics of the new doctors costume, plus his new companion, who is called amy Quote
Guest CompleteDeka Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 and here are more pics for ur delectation from filming... looks like river song is back Quote
Guest CompleteDeka Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 some more for yer pleasure and some words Well, well, well what an eventful morning! I was always dubious about a return to Bad Wolf Bay for the DW team, but lo and behold that is indeed where they were today, not anywhere that was actually used in Doomsday or Journeys End, but nevertheless this beach is turning into the most important location in Nu Who's history! We arrived at the beach and there was the TARDIS, not the TARDIS of recent times, but the Hartnell one. Retro. Back to basics. This is Moffat injecting the classic series right into the new series.Anyhoodle, the TARDIS seems to have landed next to the crash landing of some sort of alien spaceship. Debris everywhere, all around and smoke is billowing all around. Thick smoke. Then Matt and Karen leave the TARDIS and have a look around. Flames around the TARDIS....River Song in a long black flowing dress seems to already be there. But she isn't unknown to the Doctor. He clearly recognises her as friendly and they have a chat. This scene was filmed over and over again. On the behind the scenes front, both Karen and Matt were wonderful - polite, friendly, posing for photos, always smilie. I even got my picture with the new companion! Brilliant! Right, I'm sorting out the pics, will be up soonish. Quote
Hyper_Guyvantic Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 wow. the new doctor looks weird in a suit and tie like outfit. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 it's awfully nice of them to produce a new tv series about doctor who and then show it to us for free! I wonder if the new ideas in this will be as exciting as the first ones in the one done by rose tyler. it's very jarring to see new people doing the same series that I had gotten used to, but at least i don't have to worry about seeing that blasted captain jack again. I wonder what is up with the odd windows on that tardis. perhaps it is preparing for some special effects or someting. who is that woman btw? have we seen her before? Quote
Guest CompleteDeka Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 the odd windows on the tardis are because, as already stated, this is the hartnell version of the tardis. hence the st. john's ambulance logo on it. let me explain, the tardis has had quite a few variations over the years, but the first ever version, from the first doctor's time looked like this so it looks like, for some reason, the tardis exterior has been reformatted/redesigned itself, back to the beginning. oh and the woman, u mean the one in the black dress? again, i have already stated, that is river song. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 who is river song? I find it odd that they have decided to change the tardis to copy a rubbish prop. Quote
LordSpleach Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 River Song is a character that showed up in Forest of the Dead. At first she seems like another character for the episode, but she said she has met the Doctor in his future. Weird thing is she has his Sonic Screwdriver with modifications. He seems to think she might have stolen it, but later(and this is the most significant part) she whispers something in his ear to get him to trust her. At the end, you find out that she whispered his REAL name. Quote
Guest CompleteDeka Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I find it odd that they have decided to change the tardis to copy a rubbish prop. well don't u think they have done it for a reason? maybe some storyline causes the tardis to be changed in this way, reset back to its original configuration. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 i hear ya, original configuration is an interesting idea, but lookng at that prop it just looks like it is a poorly made prop using wood and card. i know that river song now. I never knew her name. Quote
Guest CompleteDeka Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Richard Curtis, best known for writing Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Blackadder and the Vicar of Dibley is writing an episode for the next series. http://thetvlowdown.com/2009/09/08/richard-curtis-to-write-doctor-who-episode/ Hugh Grant will be in this as a bumbling time-lord that's in love with the Doctor's Companion Black Adder meets Doctor Who? Best. Episode. Ever. Quote
Bobby Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 The Vicar Of Dibley was funny. Used to watch it before they aired Doctor Who. Then they stopped. Quote
