I'm thinking of going to the anime festival this year. Not sure who to cosplay yet, but I'm thinking of either Asuna from the Negima series or a character from the Guyver series (if I have the time and money). I know someone who can make me the costume so long as I pay for the materials, I just need to decide which one I'm going as.

Who should I go as?

If I should go as a Guyver character, then which one?

go as shizu.

get a fake klingon wig from star trek and smooth out the wrinkle bit to get that huge forehead.

then put in some crazy eyes contact lenses and you'll be set.

ok more serious...

well there aren't many women in guyver so you're a bit limited. also, the characters don't tend to wear fancy gears. except for zoaloads.

maybe... you could go as the most girly zoalord. archanfel.

you can easily do archy if you have a white cloak with a brooch.

 Okay, Shizu is one of the last characters I would dress up as. I don't know why, I just don't like her that much...I guess it's because she's something of a bland character to me.

Hmm...Alky you say?

That wouldn't be too hard for me, since I'm already blond, I'd just have to dye my hair blonder to get close to his hair color, then I'd have to slather hair gel in to keep it back like he does. His Silha Island costume wouldn't be too expensive and time consuming to make, and I'm sure I can make the brooch or my friend can if she wants to.

Okay, I'll get with her on that see what we can come up with.

Thank you, Ryuki!

P.S.: Why do you think Alky is girly?

what do you mean?

I'm not sure what you're asking.

stand him next to guyot... does he look masculine or effeminate?

is that what you mean?

it's a good question.

perhaps his look is simply to appeal to the girls who love that kind of thing.

i guess you would need to question why many anime and manga characters are made to look that way.

My guess to that is to get more viewers. People tend to favor the bishi/shojou character over realistic when it comes to manga/anime.

It might be a general rule that characters that have large amounts of power and can transform are usually the beautiful characters. That's just my observation from reading a number of different manga though.

Edit: Blog entry: Just got back from my first guitar lesson today! I'm learning to play the acoustic guitar from a local guy at a music shop, and I get to go on Thursdays every week. So far it's fun, and the guy teaching me is a cool guy.

My creative mode is turned off  I don't know what to do! I've got another chapter for my fanfic ready, but I don't know what to write next.

Also, I haven't been inspired to draw anything lately. My brain has gone completely into academic mode and my muse has gone on strike again.

The only thing I've been motivated to do is weave on my square loom, and that's because I've got a relative that's going to have a baby shower next month.

*sigh*...this really sucks....I wished I knew what to do to bring my little muse back...

Sounds to me like your suffering from writers block. I hate those, they happen from time to time, you just need to take a break and let your brain relax for a while, and then continue on. Just don't force yourself to write your stories, cause then they are no good, and not as creative as they would be as when the story comes naturally to you. Just let it flow out of you, and it will work.wink.gif

Found this today!

post-1770-129830797898_thumb.jpg

This was an assignment in Art 4 last semester. We were to recreate the original Meloncholia I done by an artist back in the Ren. era (sorry, I can't remember his name; the notes that had his name on it are MIA). Part of the assignment was to put ourselves in it with elements that represent us, but there were a few things that could not be taken out such as the geometry shape and the dog.

I recieved a package today. I got home from school, checked the maile before going in the trailer and my dad hands me a package from Hong Kong. I put my school stuff up, open the package that was wrapped up to make it nearly impossible for the contents to get damaged (or opened), and discover it's the Purgstall figure I ordered last month! [emote=onion]skip[/emote] It finally came! Woohoo!!

writers block.. you need to feel inspired.

a couple things that are important. get some rest. if you're tired it's gonna be hard to get inspired. fatigue drains us of motivation.

another thing is influence. inspiration comes from sharing ideas. it's very hard to create something from nothing.

so if you're feeling uninspired, watch something you like, or play a game you like or read a book etc.

something that sets your mind racing.

Just sent my friend a drawing of the Alkanphel costum I sketched for her, and hopefully she'll be able to make it or help me make it. I'll wait and see tomorrow since we're in a Tornado/Severe Thunderstorm Warning area today.

Absolutely sucks since I was suppose to have guitar practice today.

We had a 4.7 earthquake in a neaby town that woke everyone in my town up. I thought it was the wind shaking my family's trailer because we had high wind speeds last night, but apparently there were four earthquakes in a row in our rival town fifty miles away.

I don't read fanfictions full stop so I'm sorry i can't comment on if it is good or not.

did you look at the topic views?

does it seem like nobody visited?

in that case, have you considered putting an excerpt in the tasters section?

It's been raining cats and dogs on and off all day today. To add to it, I had a light fever and my voice is out. Kinda bored out of my skull now since I can't go to school until tomorrow.

I've been converting my fanfic to fanfiction.net though, and I've made a few changes here and there, not much though. I'm going redo to the last four chapters I've posted so far on here and that's the only big change I have in mind for it.

Thanks Ryuki. I know what you mean by work (with a lot of this [emote=monkey]head[/emote] along with it).

Before I forget, I've got a campus tour at a college on the 21st of this month!

Hopefully this'll go good and I'll be closer to making my final decission on my college choice.

also, sometimes we need to learn to cut our losses.

I haven't read your writing so I have no idea what it is like.

it could be amazing and the best writing in the world... or it could be really really bad.

I don't want to suggest it is bad, I would prefer to think it is good or you would not continue doing it.

passion usually shows through and involves the reader.

but the point i'm trying to make is, we have some good work and some bad work.

I cut my losses with my videos. in other words, I decided to be brutal in chopping away some of the not so good videos and focusing on my best ones.

I am much more discerning in the videos that i post for the public to see and i think this gives more chance of them being viewed.

do you know what i mean?

I haven't done fanfiction in years though and i never wanted a huge audience for my stories.

perhaps i'm not qualified enough in this area to comment.

I know what you mean, and I try to get reviews from my friends before posting them on a website like deviantArt. Sometimes I have to rewrite something several times before I get it right and the story grows from there.
