Really? Oh you're right. You'd think that after all these years seeing Naruto I would of learned to recognize this Kanji by now. XD

I like that though, show's that they are not a part of any village, just a person in the world fighting again a major threat amongst many.

i never noticed that. is it new material for the anime or was it actually in the manga?

I'm gonna guess it's 'nin' - 忍 - that you are referring to.

in case you never knew, the kanji on jiraiya's head protector was 'oil'. not sure why the toads used that kanji.

I too was actually surprised to see it released as early as Wednesday. Usually I get my fix on Thursday night, so imagine my delight when I discovered it on a Wednesday Morning.

Anyway, with the method they depicted the sannin (Jiraya, Orochimaru and Tsunade), do you think that Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura would be depicted as the same in future generations? I'm also rooting for Kakashi to become the next Hokage, and then Naruto. But with the way current things are happening, that seems to be very far from happening. I'm getting the impression that this would be the final arc of Naruto.

Posted

i don't think they could be conjsidered as sannin, because they split up before they became notable.

but each one was the direct apprentice of each of the sannin.

like history repeating itself.

That's what I was getting at since all three of them were under the respective Sannin. Also, they don't need to be together to be able to make a note of themselves. Naruto himself is already a notable ninja in the Leaf Village, while Sasuke on the other hand has become quite infamous. Which all leaves us with Sakura who has yet to make a name for herself. Also, coincidentally, all three of them were under Team Kakashi, who was under the tutelage of the 4th Hokage, who was the protege of Jiraya, who was taught by Sarutobi, which was also the student of the 1st and 2nd Hokage. Phew, that's a rather long line of connections there.

So I wonder where this would lead us. I'm still hoping for a Naruto X Hinata angle rather than the Naruto X Sakura.

This is pushing me over... the edge. I think I-I'm going insane... the fillers... The Fillers THE FILLERS MUST STOP!!!

Talking ostrich... ninja ostrich...that talks... with a warrior Kangaroo on his side beating up powerful ninja's... I don't even care about spoilers... Naruto is inhumane to it's viewers... just horrible. Even the music, the MUSIC! It wreeked... the music was so bland and generic through out all the fights scenes... my god, they even killed the music of Naruto. Please *sobs* I-I don't want this anymore. I don't want Rock Lee getting beat up by furry critters anymore. I no longer want animation that's only fit for a low budget OVA. I don't want bland character designs likely designed by people with arthritis All I ask... is for no more fillers. You can even stop airing episodes for a year until the manga lengthens out for all I care, it's not much, it's cheaper then... wasting money of torture tools designed to repel fans. My god... this madness must end!

Welcome to my world. I've stopped watching the anime a long time ago. I admit, it was the anime that got me into reading the manga, but after the chasing Sasuke arc, I just couldn't stand watching the anime anymore.

Posted

i haven't been watching the anime either. I have episode 179-184 on my computer unwatched.

i'll let them mount up, hopefully the canon material in those episodes will eventually amount up to one full episode.

I can't believe they are still doing fillers.

---------

checking the filler thread from that other site

---------

wow, so they've stopped putting good stuff with a big pile of crap,

now it's all filler.

that's good.

I don't have to waste time downloading them now.

And here I thought you enjoyed the fillers. ^_^

It's like, once you go Manga, fillers instantly turn to crap.

But I guess as long as the manga has a strong following, they will continue to milk the anime as much as it can allow. Airing crap on TV is actually helping to promote the manga, as more and more viewers prefer to read the manga than put up with the constant fillers.

I am willing to be a filler writer for naruto's production comany... for FREE just to stop these type of fillers. hell, I'll even do character designs. I just don't understand what is up with the producers. I want the old Naruto producers, yeah they made fillers, but they were at least better animated and funnier.

It's sad when the entire Omake at the end, was the only worthwhile thing in an entire episode. Seriously, I cringed and cried from frustration from the episode, but loved the 30 second Omake.

The Naruto anime has... jumped the shark 30 times already.

in naruto, fillers are bad. because the manga is quality.

the story is engaging and has a good pace.

but in something like dragonball, i actually think they could do with cutting down the fighting and adding some filler material for the sake of character development.

Yeah, fillers can be a very good thing. They can be used to fill in plot hole,s build up otherwise weak characters. One of the few good Naruto fillers had Anko's past with Orochimaru flashed out, and it was fairly similar traumatic and similar to sasuke, though the rest of the episode pretty much blew chunks. But most companies fail at fillers, and I really don't know why. You'd think they'd give things a bit more though, but then agian considering the nature of the show, Dragon Ball and others are fairly strange. Doesn't help if the producers aren't fans, otherwise you are guaranteed bad fillers from the getgo.

I think one of the basic reasons why fillers are such disappointments is due to the non-involvement of the author in the story telling process. I mean, we were all excited with what was happening due to the direction that Kishimoto intended. Now the writers for the fillers has a wholly different idea, which sometimes might contrast to the intentions of Kishimoto.

I think it's okay to add fillers as long as it will not affect the main story line or create plot holes, but amalgamating official story with fillers is something that would really put off a lot of people, especially when the writers are putting materials which might be counter to the future intentions of Kishimoto.

One example of this is how the first season anime of Full Metal Panic was made. The author, Gato Shoji, was so pissed with the studio (Gonzo), he was forced to write a whole new story for the first 4 episodes of the second season (FMP:TSR) just to repair the plot holes made in the first season. Thus the second season was handled by Kyoto Animation.

wow, that is amazing. it reminds me of the guyver OVA

imagine trying to continue from that!

oh hold on, they did didn't they? the first 6 eps was one series and the final 6 eps was a continuation. that must have been a headache!

Posted

Yeah, it means cutting a ton of material and coming up with a ton of new things to explain every change. It's like watching a Rambo moving, seeing someone write astory about Rambo killing people while in a Tutu, and then having the director of the previous movie try to explain that in the plot.

It's just pure asinine thinking I tell you.

ahh. just finished watchingthis weeks filler. THANK GOD!!! This one is actually not bad, I enjoyed it, they did several things right, this one was a Rock Lee based episode on his recovery and there was some actually heart behind it. Though it made no sense at all, the episode was still great. It was well animated, and there was some actually good humor in it... unlike most of the fillers where the humor is utterly bad. Yoo top it off, we only had a minutes worth of bad animation and character designs, where as usally it would of been an entire episodes worth of crap. Thank you for at least giving us one good Naruto filler after so many horrible ones.

y'know, I think i've lost all semblance of the naruto universe.

it's all this dragonball I've been watching.

yeah, the fillers end now.

new episode back on track.

don't think i'll bother with it just now.

i think it'll be confusing to watch naruto after watching dragonball for so long.

I can still read the manga.

no problem, you'll get back to it eventually. Besides, right now it's been cannon material, but it hasn't been that great. Seems that long absence of Cannon Material has degraded the action scenes even further. Or was the budget cut again? To be honest, I don't know, maybe it's because Naruto fillers have made me depressed after such a long tangent. But something's off, even with the cannon stuff back, I just can't seem to enjoy it as much despite the long wait. I find myself eager for the manga, but half heartedly watching the anime even after post filler. I'm hoping this chances soon for me. Wonder if anyone else has been having the same problem as me.

The Dragon ball series and Naruto series are fairly similar, seeing them back to back, is sorta like adding sugar to a sugar cube, you'll get sick of it fast. Just ease yourself back in slowly and you wouldn't''t have any issues.

i come back to it now anyhow :)

it's been a few weeks and i really got sick of dragonball.

i really love naruto.

these recent episodes have been as good as ever for me :)

I think you've been corrupted by the fillers. give yourself a break and come back in a short while.

I'm sure you'll feel the love again.

Nope. Didn't work for me the first time. Taking a break from fillers and then coming back again that is. I tell you, The original Naruto anime was cool, didn't even notice the fillers until the last arc. Then came Shippuden, and BAM, fillers intertwined with cannon story. No, sad to say, the fillers killed the anime for me. I had the chance to watch the Pain fight in Youtube, and by god, I didn't feel any excitement anymore watching it.

I can say that you can spot quality fillers and fillers that milk the series. And my friend, the fillers in Naruto are just milking the series bad, really bad. And as long as people buy Naruto Merchandise that supports the show, which by the way is in majority due to the popularity of the manga, the horrible fillers in the anime will continue. My god, Corporate America has finally reach the Japanese industry.
