durendal Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Ok, I think I'll just re-translate everything instead of using the ones you posted. Reading over the translated text takes longer. It's impossible to arrange this on a word per word basis due to different grammar styles, but I did arrange it to match it by line, hence the fragmented sentences. Toku Warrior Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) Okay, still doing some work on remaking the music video while also working on other projects as well but I was wondering if I can get help in translating these two song titles. They're from an album which is done by defspiral. I used bablefish but I don't fully trust their translations. Here are the two song tracks. Track 1 - トワイライト Track 2 - 月ã¨ãƒ´ã‚£ãƒ¼ãƒŠã‚¹ Bablefish said that track 1 was called 'Twilight' while track 2 was something about 'Month or vuinasu'. I just want to be 100% sure so I can rename them into English on my media player, which always puts those bracket boxes in place of foreign text font on the playlist instead of the actual font. Thanks in advance. Edited October 5, 2011 by Ryuu-Oh Quote
*Jess♥ Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I think I'd need to know some context of the song, but that could be "moon and venus". the first one is correct. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Thanks. I used your translation and looked it up on YT and found it. Here's the song just in case. Moon to Venus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLP4UJSNzkk Quote
Toku Warrior Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 Hey guys, I'm helping a friend edit one of his fanfiction chapters and he needs a bit of help on a english to Japanese translation. In his story, the character is about to receive a big power up and will have an attack that uses draconic energy. So he was modeling the attack in a similar fashion to Ichigo's Getsuga Tensho. We know that Getsuga Tensho translates as either Moon Fang or Lunar Fang and, when used by Ichigo as an attack, translates as Moon Fang Piercing the Heavens. Well, his character will use an attack based on the words, Dragon Fang. And the Attack would be called Dragon Fang shattering the Earth. How would that be written in Japanese romaji? Thanks to those who help out. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 well dragon fang would be Ryuga. earth shattering should be daichikudaku. but that may not be the most elegant way of saying it. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 by the way, getsu ga is moon fang. ten shou is heaven something. according to wikipedia, it is heaven slicing, but my kanji dictionary doesn't list 'slicing' as a definition for shou. it's likely that the usage is indicating an opposition, or preventative. i personally think 'against heaven' would be more suitable. Toku Warrior Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Wow, this thread hasn't seen one lick of action in almost 2 years. Guess I'll start it back up. I'm working on notes for a fanfic, a Kamen Rider one to be exact. The Rider is called Kamen Rider Syn and he has forms based on the 7 Deadly Sins and is able to increase his own power in battles, depending on how strong the main sin of his opponent is. He's a young college student that is turned into a super cyborg weapon of mass destruction by the HADES Organization, which is founded and run by none other than his own father, The Great Leader who also calls himself Abaddon. Syn feels that he must wipe out HADES for good and has a habit of judging others by the weight of their own sins. So I wanted to create a catchphrase for both the character as well as the main theme of the series itself. I borrowed some bits from Double and I came up with this. "Now, your sins be judged!" When I tried to translate it, I got, "Saa, anata no tsumi o handan suru!" I'd like to know if I'm correct with that translation. And, I'd also like to know if I got this right as well. ã•ã‚ã€ã‚ãªãŸã®ç½ªã‚’判æ–ã™ã‚‹ Any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 i would have thought you need to use shiteimasu. could be wrong. I haven't studied for ages. also, I would use soshite instead of sa-, as that seems a bit casual. leave out the 'anata no' because the context should do the job. who knows, I might be right and the following might be suitable... ãã—ã¦ã€ç½ªã‚’判æ–ã—ã¦ã„ã¾ã™ Quote
Toku Warrior Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 I don't know if G-Translate is right but, if it is, the rough translation is, "And, I have to determine the sin." While I like how it sounds in Japanese, it kinda goes away from what I want it to mean in English. Would there be any other way? Of course, this is only if Google Translate gave me a poor translation...which it's known to do from time to time. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 "Well, I will judge the sins of you.".....hm....that's pretty close to the original meaning. I'll go over both replies and see which would fit best. Thanks you guys for the help. Quote
