This is a really cool show on SpikeTV. It answers the question: Which of history's greatest warriors would win in a battle to the death???

The show features guys doing various tests with the weapons of each combatant to determine who would win. They use state-of-the-art computers & equipment to help. They use ballistics gel with skulls & other internal stuff inside to be on the receiving end of the weapons testing. Blood & brain matter ends up going all over the place as a result of these tests. After the tests, they run 1000 battle simulations and whoever won the most of the thousand, would be declared the deadliest. These are the combatants who've been tested so far.

Spartan/Ninja

Pirate/Knight

Simple although I thought some fights were a bit like, "Oh come on! He definatly couldn't beat him!"

Apache beat Gladiator (WTF? Gladiator was twice the size of the tiny indian!)

Samurai owned the Viking

Spartan killed the ninja although the ninja did put up a good fight despite having no armor or any armor penetrating weapons

But I need to see if the pirate beat the knight. I doubt the pirate would win, I just want to see. So its gang vs gang? Thats a bit lame, thats basically two guys with the same weapons fighting each other.

The Pirate DID win. The modern arsenal is what helped him. Not to mention, the Knight looked exhausted. It won 63% of the fights while the Knight won 37%.

Apache won because of his knife and the fact that his Tomahawk, Bow & Arrow and Knife allowed it the most kills in the 1000 fights against the Gladiator. Apache won 2/3 while Gladiator won 1/3.

Wheph i ve been working for the past couple of days and now i can get a little break. Heres what i think about these fights.

Pirate won, cause of the Blunderbuss. I mean even when the knight got shot by it he was still putting up a good fight until he lost too much blood and collasped. But we can sit here and pick all sorts of things. THat was just an act, we dont know how the 1000 battles were fought.

Apache vs Gladiator. Of course the apache would win. He's an Apache! The Gladiator was more built but that made him slower too. And Apache''s are not "Indians" they are "Native Americans". but its not your fault BK. We've grown up in a sociaty that labels the Natives as indians especially in the film industry.

William Wallace vs Shaka Zulu. At first I thought Shaka would win, but secretly I was hoping for Wallace to win because he resembled my ancestors culture more than shaka. I thought the actors did an AMAZING job for the fight sequence. And I was very suprised that wallace won. But truely the only reason why he won was because of the claymore. If not for that I would have to say Zulu would've won. (I know people who would say this show is a set-up and of course the white guy would win in a fight vs a balck guy. That the US government wouldnt allow or like to see a black guy be *superior* then whites. But i think thats all bull)

Green Berets vs Spetnaz. I wasnt surpised how the outcome came out. I actually liked the spetnaz, and there weapons. THe americans were really jerkish to the russians, and i didnt like that. They didnt even complement them on anything. I really liked the shooting knife. But I think instead of Green Berets they should of done the Air Force Pair Rescue special forces. I mean they are the number one special forces in the us military, it would only make since if they used them instead...

Still havent seen Samuria vs Viking...

Mafia vs the Yakuza. I actually thought that the Yakuza would win, but wasnt shocked that they didnt. I wasnt really rooting for anyone.

Spartan vs Ninja I was sad that the ninja lost. But the spartan had all that armor and the shield so it would really be difficult, let alone he's a spartan warrior!

Shaolin Monk vs Maori Warrior. I was glad the monk won, because I didnt like the Maori Warrior too much.

Ok, the IRA is deffinately gonna beat the Taliban! If they dont, its cause the Taliban ran at the IRA guy and blew himself up and they both die, but that would really be just giving up and the IRA guy would still be the winner cause he fought to the death! Havent you ever heard the term the "Fighting Irish"? Yeah go IRA!! (I mean in this episode).

Ok, my time is unfornatley up. I just took a few hours off from writing and decided to see what was up on the site. I'll see you guys around during my next break, probably on monday or tuesday or so, i mean writing books does demand your devoted time after all.

I rooted for Monk but got worried when Maori took the most advantages. I also rooted for Yakuza & Ninja.

I recorded Apache/Gladiator & Samurai/Viking since I never saw them.

I also think Wallace won due to the Claymore. The tests had it slice THROUGH Zulu's shield in one stroke.

i just watched the first episode.

this is mindblowing stuff, I really like this series.

it's a shame they don't air it on tv in the uk, but i am sure they may decide to in the future.

samurai vs viking is the next one to watch.

I really want them to make one with the celts. since they are using the vikings, and the vikings actually fought alongside the celts a long time ago.

About Apache vs Gladiator. Now I am of Native American decent and know how ruthless the apache can be, along with the comanche, the cheyanne, navajo, and other tribes. and I originally thought the Gladiator was going to win. Only because the Spartan beat the Ninja and the ninja who had more refined weapons then my people, still lost. But as the episode progressed it started to sawy towards the Apache.

1 thing I rather liked was Snake, taking almost 10 knives out of miscelanious places. Another thing I liked was the tomahawk made from a horse jaw bone. I gotta get me one of those! The bow and arrow, I knew was going to be selected as a weapon. But as a native I will say this, during the test of the war club, the only problem was the shaft was to thin to be whailing on the bronze helmet. If it were thicker, like some of the Iroquios had, then I could see the war club doing more damage.

Another reason, like mentioned in the episode, that I wavered towards Apache, was not that the Gladiator had armor in the wrong spots, or that the Apache was more of a close range killer. But the fact that if an Apache wants you dead, whether he is alone or not, there is nothing in this world that would save you. They also had the phsycological effect on people going for them. Because they would actually lick the blood off their knives, and like other warrior tribes cut out the person's heart and eat it if they killed a worthy advasary. After all, during the final months of the "Indian Wars" people were so afraid of the Apache that they over exaggerated statements to get protection from the Army.

I even told my father, who knew the Apache would win, that if I knew I would have Snake as a instructor, Id sign up for the army and eagerly learn how to fight like an Apache. Even though I have no Apache blood in me. But the old man pretty much told me thats almost exactly how all the Native Peoples fought, but the Apache was more refined.

it seems very odd, because native american culture is supposed to be so spiritual and calm and peaceful but then watching the apache, i was really scared.

they seemed very bloodthirsty and not peaceful at all.

Some were known for being brutal. There's been movies in which a Native American went berserk, killed people, including his tribe, and became a demon.

i don't know of any recent movies on the subject and all old western style movies were totally biased.

They sometimes use warriors whose primary weapons are modern day warfare and its when they have episodes like these I don;t watch the show. I only watch the show when they have duels like ninja vs spartan, viking vs samurai, ect. Not Yakuza vs mafia or spetznaz vs green bereau!

The show is pretty cool. The only thing I don't like is that they always don't do fair match ups like Knight vs Pirate because the outcomes of that match was very very predictable. I saw the William Wallace vs Zulu and in that one Zulu got wrecked so I thought that was a kind of unfair match up but I came in at the end of that one.

I loved the Samurai vs Viking one. I was like I don't know who to side with, both sides are just too ultimate! Either way I was pleased with the outcome. Mafia vs Yakuza was really cool. I laughed at Spartan vs Ninja because you could tell that once that shield was tested it was the deciding factor.

I like it how they do the live-action fight scenes. They're really cool and why I love the end of the show. I hope they take all the winners and just pit them against each other. That would be awesome.
