*Jess♥
it is a very nice bike and looks very interesting totally black. I've placed a bid on a bike for myself on ebay. it's a ladies bike but it shouldn't really matter. I only want one that is gonna do the job. my current bike is cheaply made and it feels very heavy when cycling.
Cannibal
Glad you like it Can you show me the bike you want to buy? And if it's possible your old bike? My bike is also a cheap one. I bought it in April 2009 for ~150-160$USD (5000 rubles). I bought it from my acquaintance, so I had some discount. This bike cost 220$ in shop. Basically I ride cross-country, but sometimes I'm using aggressive tricks. And sometimes these tricks leads me to falls I personally believe that for my needs(riding style) the good bike's costs starts from 670$ I feel lucky, that my bike still works and it works really nice and smooth for its price. Maybe it still hasn't totally broken because of my light weight. Edited July 22, 2011 by Cannibal
*Jess♥
sure, here is the auction i'm bidding on. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170670376748&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT my current bike cost around £100 which at the time was around $200. what makes it bad is that it was a full suspension bike with disc brakes. it was a poor choice because those things should cost more to get decent quality. i could take a picture tomorrow. when it's light. so the disc brakes are not aligned properly and i don't think they can be. I've tried adjusting it from all angles but it just won't align. the suspension is low grade and made of heavy materials. the frame is a thick frame so is heavy. the one i'm bidding on looks lighter. it also looks to be of a simple yet sturdy build. like yours. Cannibal
those things should cost more to get decent quality I agree with that. IMO decent full suspension bikes must cost much-much more than the good hardtail bikes. The one you bidding on is surely better than any full suspension for that price ($200). *Jess♥
it's really interesting to see pictures of Russia. here in the UK, Russia is a mystery. on our tv, and in school, we have never been told anything or any information. I wonder if I could see some film or video or documentary that will show me things about Russia. recently a UK documentary "an idiot abroad" visited Russia. they travelled on the trans-siberian express. I saw a lot of the countryside and also parts of Moscow. then we saw some people in the woods and they buried them under the ground with a pipe to breathe! Cannibal
It's a pneumatic gun that is using a gas (I think it is an air) container and 2 or 3 mm round metallic bullets. Can penetrate thru a beer bottle from 15 meters distance. You can fire 3 or 4 chargers (18 bullets in each) using 1 gas container. My friend (who made a photo) bought it for ~$130. *Jess♥
that makes me feel safer I used to have one of those. it is very impressive thing to have. although after a while, I didn't have any use for it. Cannibal
The weirdest bike was the one with the inverted steering - I couldn't move it at all i see you are very enthusiastic about your bike and so are your friends Yes, the idea to buy bikes striked us in 2009, since then we ride them nearly every day (except winter times). is this a big thing in Russia? is it like a cultural phenomenon? It becoming popular, but not big. We have almost no bicycle paths, unlike some European countries (I think we have them only in Moscow, and only place where I saw them was the Gorky Park and no one gives a snack about those paths, riding and walking where they like). We have really hard times when you willing to obey road laws - you must ride in one direction with cars - but this is a suicide here - I tried it twice and almost got under the van. + we have epic-fail-thing instead of roads, so you are not safe even if you have a car I think neither riders nor drivers ready to share the road here. According to our rules you can't ride a bike on sidewalks, but there is no other way (poor soft pedestrians ) I can see that from year to year we have more and more bikes on the streets. Their number increases drastically. But it's definitely not something like this: The majority of population using cars to get to their place of work/school/etc. even if it is 3-5 km away. Or just not interested in bicycle sports. We also have more and more bike-events like that one in Moscow. *Jess♥
According to our rules you can't ride a bike on sidewalks, but there is no other way (poor soft pedestrians ) same here. though, we have not many bike riders, but we have lots of bike paths. however, the bike paths are stupid and usually make no sense. if I were to follow the bike paths, I would never get to where I need to go. Cannibal
these must be from a while ago? Yes, these are from 2012 summer time. Usually I manage to get photos from whole year in the end of the year and then dump them. why are the trees painted around the base? This have two reasons: 1) protecting from insects and their larvae; 2) protecting from sunburns. Paint contains lime and maybe some addition of copper(II) sulfate and clay. also, what is that derelict building? It's an unfinished dam near our town. They wanted to make a lake or something back in 80' but didn't finished it for some reason. It's located 2,5 km from my house.
