guyverfanatic Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I'm playing it on 360. yes, the gauss rifle was so awesome. ammo was very limited that time though. I haven't got it with me after leaving the sim. I am not sure why. I think next time i play, i'll swap the sniper rifle for it. I think I got confused and thought it relied on energy weapon skill and i was waiting for plasma rifle before putting points in it. jingweis shocker sword is awesome though. (combined with 100% sneak and chinese stealth suit) I took out the whole of paradise falls without one shot fired at me!! so what happened on the pc version? is it a game breaking glitch? or is it just something really annoying? I read on the Bethesda forums that one of the problems was that Bethesda deleted some spawn points or something and the game didn't work. I downloaded a fan mod to fix it, but because Bethesda hasn't fixed it properly, Operation: Anchorage doesn't work for me now and there's a run-time error every time I exit the game. So annoying to say the least. I hope it is fixed by the time Broken Steel comes out at the end of this month or early next month.
*Jess♥ Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 i thought either operation anchorage or the pitt would raise my level to level 30.... but it's no true. I feel mighty let down.
guyverfanatic Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 i thought either operation anchorage or the pitt would raise my level to level 30....but it's no true. I feel mighty let down. No, it is Broken Steel that raises the level cap to 30.
*Jess♥ Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I stopped playing through now because of that. I gone straight to the pitt. I realised that operation anchorage doesn't require a high level so i thought the pitt would raise the level cap and so that would require a high level. but then i realised i don'tget a higher level this time.. so I went straight to the pitt and it seems.. it scales it to your current level. I don't know if they expect you to walk round that place like some slave... I sneaked in using ultimate stealth. killed everyone i found. until it gave a cutscene where it stole my equipment!! and yet.. i wonder if it stil expected me to be a slave. yeah right. first guard i saw, i stealth killed him from behind, FIST TO THE HEAD!! *maniacal laughter* then everyone ws after me so i killed them all, got weapons and armour. then a guy with a gatling gun... so i hid from that guy coz my health was getting hammered and i ran out of ammo. but fter i waited so long.they decided to ignore me. I guess they are accustomed to having armed slaves..
guyverfanatic Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Broken Steel is out tomorrow! Level 30 limit now, more baddies, more armors, more weapons, and more awesomeness!
*Jess♥ Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 tomorrow? wow, that's soon! I don't have the funds right now, dammit.
Matt Bellamy Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 More problems too! Apparently the part of Bethesda that creates PC games, doesn't seem to realize that it's not cool to release a game/expansion that s full of bugs. Especially on a console system. Hopefully they come out with the fixes soon.
LordSpleach Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 They should've hired me. I would've found them! Not kidding too.
Matt Bellamy Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Well, finally got around to beating it... I must say I was a bit pissed. Considering the ending, and how I used Fawkes as my side kick... I really didn't like the cop out of the new "ending". But then... 2 Weeks Later... Overall, I liked Broken Steel. They SHOULD have made it the first DLC though. The increased level cap also makes you too much of a god. But 3 main story missions ( thus 3 Achievements) and 3 more quests, with a few buildings that were once closed, now opened? Better than the last 2 releases. Much better. And I thankfully never hit one of the bugs that woudl freeze the game... though I did get some clipping and choppy-ness, but nothing major. I think this one was actually worth the 800 points.
*Jess♥ Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I must say I was a bit pissed. Considering the ending, and how I used Fawkes as my side kick... I really didn't like the cop out of the new "ending". but you get the choice. you choose wether to poison everything or not. I chose not to put the poison in the water supply. unless they change it in the continuation and it doesn't give you a choice.

I chose not to put the poison in the water supply. unless they change it in the continuation and it doesn't give you a choice. I dunno... I reported that to Lyons, and gave him the poison, so it was never an option for me. But it seems the way they played it out, they probably will keep it with the "good" ending. Or the extra quests after the big 3 missions are done, wouldn't exist at all. Though they could modify it... it seems unlikely as I haven't read anything about that yet.
guyverfanatic Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I haven't played as a bad character yet, so I wanna see what happens after putting the FEV virus in the purifier...
*Jess♥ Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 what does that actually class as though? isn't it a bit of a grey area? you kill the terrible mutants, but at the same time, don't you kill all ghouls and creatures like fawkes? I personally felt that the FEV virus constituted genocide. so I didn't add it in.
The Luna Diviner Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 no offense to anyone, but i never got into Fallout 3. i played it for like two weeks, got killed at least twice a day of playing. finally got to the first town, and couldnt do much of anything. then i left and got killed again. so i gave up. i never got very far becuase it just aggitated me so much to keep getting owned all the time.
guyverfanatic Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Fallout 3 is the greatest game ever! Best game I have ever played...

I really do not consider fallout 3 to be a difficult game.
guyverfanatic Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 It's not that difficult, but early in the game before levling up and getting better weapons, it's kinda hard. I'm waiting for the announcement to the long rumored Point Look DLC....
*Jess♥ Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 another DLC? wow, we are getting spoiled! and with a sequel on it's way as well!
guyverfanatic Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 (edited) Rumors Of A Fourth Fallout 3 Expansion Emerge"Point Look" could be part of a Broken Steel retail bundle. By Kat Bailey, 05/01/2009 It won't be long before Bethesda releases Broken Steel, the last of three originally announced DLC expansions for Fallout 3. But that doesn't mean that we won't be getting anymore DLC after that. Rumors are swirling after eStarland (via Eurogamer) listed a fourth Fallout 3 add-on called Point Look, which would be released in a retail bundle with Broken Steel. Bethesda confirmed a similar deal for Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt earlier this week. A Bethesda spokesperson responded by saying, "There are no announced plans for additional DLC beyond Broken Steel." However, there's still plenty of room to grow Fallout 3. As Eurogamer points out, Bethesda has thus far only used 350 out of a possible 750 gamer points, and 14 out of 30 achievements. And with Fallout 3 continuing to get solid buzz in the months since its release, a fourth expansion pack would garner considerable buzz. For now, Broken Steel is set to be released on May 5 on Xbox Live and PC. It will cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10). 1UP.com Bethesda Says More Fallout 3 DLC Could ComePete Hines says content so far has been "hugely successful." By Steve Watts, 05/13/2009 Fallout 3 The downloadable content for Fallout 3 recently came to a head with the release of "Broken Steel," which removed the ending and upped the level cap. But Bethesda might not be done releasing new content packs for the game, and as with most corporate decisions, future packs will rely on projected profits. OXM interviewed Bethesda's Pete Hines, who hinted at the prospect for more DLC on the way. "Whether [broken Steel is] the absolute last one remains to be seen," he said. "Because it's been hugely successful. Operation Anchorage vastly exceeded our expectation. It was like 'holy [censored], we did how many?' and the Pitt was really successful, after a bit of a false start." He goes on to say that Broken Steel is the most anticipated of the packs among fans, and he expects it to be "hugely, hugely popular." In other words, if Bethesda decides their profits will outweigh the cost of developing new content, more packs are on the way. These could be the kinds of considerations the company is already making when it comes to Point Look, the rumored fourth content pack for the game. 1UP.com Seeing how all the DLC have been successful, I have no doubt we will see the rumored 4th DLC Point Look. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Point_Look Edited May 18, 2009 by guyverfanatic
*Jess♥ Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 WOW!! that's quite soon! I love bethesda!! I will never be done with this game, it's great that such a game can have such lastability. sometimes i think that they are milinkg it and that all the content should have been in hte game originally, but actually, I think that this game has lasted me a lot longer than most other games, so actually it is better value for money. so we get some alien!!?? omg, I never thought about such a thing, this will be exciting!
guyverfanatic Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Aliens Invade Fallout 3 I will probably end up double dipping and getting the GOTY edition for PC.
The Luna Diviner Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 i started playing it again today, and it wasnt too hard, i only really came across a dog and a mole rat, but they werent bad. i found some raiders but i ran from them. maybe i was doing something wrong and thats why i was getting killed. im gonna keep playing it and see if it gets easier, maybe jsut early game was harder than i expected or something, i dont know.
*Jess♥ Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 yeah, i think it's also important that you don't go into areas with hard enemies to start off with. when i first started, i headed west and promptly got destroyed by a killer robot! then i decided to go to springvale school and gained some good experience that way. also you decide what is important to kill hte bad guys. if you started off and put all your points into speech, then of course you're gonna get nailed! I started off and learn repair skill. it's very useful to repair your weapons as high as you can, you get good firepower and you're less likely to die.
The Luna Diviner Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 i put most of my skills into big guns and explosives, because that sounded most exciting. but even when i went to the school the first time, i got bull rushed by like ten guys and i got totally pwnd. i was just playing, and i was in arefu and started to wander towards this area that the sherrif told me to do, and this super mutant and robot thing started to eat me alive (not literally). thats the sort of thing that irritated me when i first started, and caused me to quite. i dont know, maybe i just have to learn where and where not to go. right now im doing the super duper mart mission, err quest for moira, the internet said that helps to get some weapons. im also thinking of boosting my locksmith ability, is that useful later on, because it seems like now theres alot of things to unlock, and ive only been to two places really.
