Toku Warrior Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 All-n-all I liked it. I am making it one of the series that I'll be DLing weekly. Quote
ParaParaJMo Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 just watched episode 2 on funi's site. glad they placed that episode there. i hate flashbacks in the middle of a series Quote
durendal Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 Does anybody have any information as to how many episodes this will be? I do hope they won't put fillers here anymore. But I'm wondering up to which point of the Manga they will be animating this. Quote
ParaParaJMo Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 i don tknow how many have been confirmed, but when they announced the new series in the manga, they said they had scripts up to episode 19 ready and more in planning Quote
Renegade Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Considering that the manga should end soon, they could go all the way. Quote
Archangel Ashes Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I hope they do go all the way. I haven't read the manga yet but its one of those things I'll get around to eventually. Episode 4 was pretty sweet. I like it how they gave Scar a more Grim Reaper quality. Quote
durendal Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 I did notice that they cut out a lot of minor things like that Yoki guy in the mines. I think this is a good move so we can get to see the unanimated parts of the manga faster. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I also noticedthat but they also waited until they got in the church to introduce ROse instead of in the market like they did in the manga. Yes, I caved in and bought volumes 1-5 of the manga a few days ago. It was buy 4 and get the 5th free so i took advantage of it. And with the books only $10 a pop, that wasn't a bad deal. I do plan on buying all the volumes. I think in English they're up to volume 16 but what volume are they up to in Japanese? Quote
durendal Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 Not sure how many volumes, but it's currently in chapter 93. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Well each volume has about 4 chapters in it....and it's 16 volumes at the moment...64 chapters....so they have 23 book sreleased so far in Japanese and are waiting on book 24. If I'm correct that is. Quote
durendal Posted May 2, 2009 Author Posted May 2, 2009 I just checked mangaupdates and it states that currently there are 21 volumes. Quote
durendal Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 Anybody following this anime? I've got to say, everything is in accordance to the manga. At the rate that they are going, they'll catch up to the manga soon enough. Anybody have information as to how many episodes there will be yet? Quote
Toku Warrior Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I've been following it. Their at Eps.33 now and it's what, almost at the halfway point in the manga or is it just slightly past it? Durendal, wasn't it around Book 10 or 11 where they met the Humunculus creator and that the Elrics temporarily lost their Alchemich abilities? if so then they still have a fair ways to go. I think that they said it was going to be a 52 episode series for the first set though I'm not 100% sure. It may do a D.Gray-Man on us and go almost 100 episodes....and D.Gray-Man has less books than FMA...though that series had quite a few filler epsidoes. did anyone else besides me find that OVA, 'The Blind Alchemist', to be complete heartbreaking? that was a very nice OVA and it nearly brought tears to my eyes. A really nice addition to the series. Even the BGM for that OVA was impacting and helped drive it. Heck, did anyone besides me even get the OST for this series? Quote
durendal Posted November 27, 2009 Author Posted November 27, 2009 Unfortunately, I have never seen the OVA. But I too liked the songs in the second series. With the way the manga is currently going, I'm inclined to think that Arakawa is planning to finish the manga. The story is already in its climax. All the key people have begun to gather and something big seems to be set in motion. Quote
durendal Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 I've just watched episode 43, so if it's going to be a 52 episode, then I guess they won't be reaching the end of the story that soon. As of Chapter 104 of the manga, looks to me like things are finally going to end very soon. Quote
*BananaKing Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I started watching that new FMA series brotherhood of blood that aired on adultswim this saturday, it looked pretty sweet. Quote
*V Guyver Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I started watching that new FMA series brotherhood of blood that aired on adultswim this saturday, it looked pretty sweet. Not gonna just watch it yet. I still preferred the manga over the anime. So I still have some reservations about watching this. Not that the old series was bad, just a tad spoiled by the more likable manga. Quote
*BananaKing Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I missed half of the second episode, but I'm liking this new anime. I actually got very bored of the manga, it was too much talk and not enough action. I got the part where they fight the suits of armor. I saw the elrics' flashback on how they became what they are. They really made the aftermath come to life with this new anime series. The only thing I don't like, is Al's voice actor sounds very feminine (Because its probably a woman doing the voice) Quote
durendal Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 I can say that this animated version is way better than the first series. I am also an avid reader of the manga, yet I still enjoy the series. I can guarantee that the anime does not suffer the same difficulty as other anime converted from manga (ie Naruto & Bleach). In fact, it is quite refreshing to see the action scenes animated. It is completely faithful to the manga. And for your info, as of the last episode I watched, Olivier Armstrong is already in Central. If you know what that means. Hint hint. Quote
Renegade Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Brotherhood follows the manga to the letter, still haven't found any flaws in it. I'm praying that they don't make a filler ending. If we're lucky they might finish the ending with an OVA or a movie! Quote
*BananaKing Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 From what I hear, they cut some small stuff from the manga, but the end result is very good. I couldn't read the manga, but I have to gives brotherhood some props since its managed to keep my interest Quote
durendal Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 And surprisingly, the anime is already catching up to the manga. I'm really hoping really hard that they don't end the series pre-maturely like they did the first series. I certainly hope they would respect the author enough to only animate when the manga finishes a story arc, much similar to the way they animated Hunter X Hunter. But the manga is nowhere near the end. It's already in the climax and I'm still waiting to see what will happen on the promised day. Quote
durendal Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 OMFG! The FMA manga just ended with Chapter 108. That means the animation will be heading to the same direction. And here I was worried that they would do a lot of those filler episodes just to keep the show from catching up with the manga. Quote
durendal Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 Turns out, there are only 2 more episode of FMA: Brotherhood. Quote
