i hope she gets well soon then :)

btw, I thought you might put that Japanese phrase into google. it is a very common phrase. it is 'happy birthday'. :)

I suspected that; I was just teasing you, Ryuki. ;)

And, I'm happy to report that she's gotten over the bout of depression that was causing her trouble; she sounds like she's doing a lot better, so that's good to hear.

I have trimmed down a lot of the forum.

to be honest, I am surprised your post count didn't go down more.

you must not have posted a lot at the beginning of the forum.

a lot of old topics are gone. as a result, post counts have gone down and very old users who don't visit any more had zero post count. those users who have low post count and haven't visited in more than several months, have been deleted.

this is all in favour of making the forum feel lighter, with less history and less information overload. this in turn should help any potential new users to feel they can fit in more comfortably.

about the forum skin, it is to match the new front page.

there is something i am enquiring into at the moment which could actually see it changing to blue, but i don't know how likely it is.

the red was to match gigantic exceed.

Makes sense, I suppose. It's a little disconcerting, though; red was the default color, something I only saw when I was away from the forum for too long and the software logged me out. Besides, it's not really my favorite color, anyhow.

i understand.

i wish there was an easier way to maintain skins.

no such luck, I have to go through lines and lines of template code and CSS code.

it's a nightmare.

Well, I've finally managed to buy - almost; still waiting to get my hands on #29 - the entire series of Guyver manga. It'll be shipped on the 17th, so all that remains is for me to find space for them; seriously, I've got more books than most people know what to do with. Then again, we've always been big readers in my family. :D

nicely done. how did you manage to get them?

  • Author

Well, YesAsia still doesn't have it, but Kin- the other bookstore - I swear, I have some kind of mental block with that name - should be getting the one I requested in soon.

could be my fault.

I didn't really do a good job dealing with issues around changing forum, leaving the old one, making this one etc.

I think i did wrong by a few people around that time. what was it... 5 years ago or so.

Hmm; that might've had something to do with it. It couldn't have been easy for someone who didn't have the forum bookmarked, like I do, to keep up with all of the moves. Of course, a lot of that might have been Invision's issues, too.

I've finally gotten my Guyver manga - well, I had them a bit ago, but I was busy then so I couldn't find the time to post - back-issues that I ordered. They all look great; I'm very happy that I ordered them.

I also added the 57th article to my Wiki, too; haven't been working on that much, sad to say.

Well, it's the first day of decorating for Christmas, and that means that the first set of decorations - the miniature trees, the wreath, and the door-hangings - went up today. Tomorrow, we bring out the bigger ones; it's going to be interesting getting the 7ft tree up this year. We'll need to make some space in the living room.

  • Author

Well, the big tree's fully up and decorated now; all of the garlands have been hung, and the stockings are up and just waiting to be filled. My sister's even started putting out presents. :D

Well, the first not-quite-week of the new year has been a pretty good one. My mom's birthday is coming up in just a couple days, so that's something to look forward to.
