odin Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) thanks for the clarification, I do know about the dream sequence that Kit had of the onix rider fighting him and that's what let me to believe that Onix was just going to be either 1)an Evil Clone of Dragon Knight or 2)an alternate transformation that dragon knight went through when in anger in which Kit would have to control if he did not wanted to become evil and vent his friends (in which was hinted by how many times he has been tricked and had mood swings like Adam had when he came back, i was not expecting a separate deck for onix since it was established that there was only 12 riders NOT including the Advent master. BTW you forgot to put Odin as Wrath since that's his american name in Dragon Knight. Edited June 8, 2010 by odin Quote
Toku Warrior Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Oops. Well, wrath it is then. I just started watching where i left off with KRDK. Kamen Rider Sting. Haven't watched any episodes past that point. Quote
LordSpleach Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Odin the thing about Kit's inconsistent fighting skills in due to the fact that the fight footage from Ryuki is not in the original order that was aired in Japan. Quote

AH, i see, it still ticks me off tho, they should have planed things a little better, thanks for the heads up. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Well, i just watch all of KRDK in under a day-n-half and i must say it was really impressive for a low budget series. My only real gripes are that it had 3 recap episodes. That and that in the end when Kit chose to stay on as a Rider I was really hoping he'd keep the Onyx deck instead of going back to the DK deck, I like the color scheme for Onyx more and Kit was much more of a badass (Rider and person together) when he was Onyx. Other than that it was a really great series. I just wish they had enough money to where they could have released an OST of all the BGM. Many of the scores from the series were really excellent. Bobby Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I wish they Americanized more Rider series too. Like Hibiki, Blade, Den-O, Kabuto, 555 & Kiva. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) Okay, let's look at all 11 (12 if you include G) Heisei Riders. Not all of them would work well as an American adaption but some do seem like they could be done with respect paid to the original series. Ryuki was the diamond in the rough for this as it started and, to me, it did wonders. It was like Power Rangers slightly but it had a more serious tone built into it. Power Rangers, Beetleborgs, Supre Human Samurai Syber Squad, VR Trooper and Masked Rider are all series which cater to the age group of 4-12 year old boys and girls, primarily boys. Kamen Rider Dragon Knight took it a step further and, with only around half the budget that Power Rangers usually uses, actually did very well for an age range of 8-16 year old kids. Even some adults liked the series. Now, I do believe that some Rider series would do good in American Adaption but not all. they first key thing to note it age. How dated is the series in its visual looks. Any series pre-Ryuki looks like how Power Rangers used to look in the old days with that grainy feel to it. Kuuga and Agito look like this as well...unless you get the series in HD format. But you also need to see if the story can still be adapted as well without just using the old space alien routine. Ryuki was able to pull off the alien routine but it still kept the mirror monster mystery that made Ryuki so well loved. I don't think Kuuga would do well as an adaption but Agito may be a nice idea. That's because it leads to the next thing most kids of the 8-16 look for. A hero set of 2 or more. Yes, a lone warrior would be fine but a villain that can use the same abilities is something most kids like. A small group of same yet slightly different powered characters is also good. Agito, Faiz, Blade and Kiva did this well by keeping the Rider costumes within the 3-4 group range. So, IMO, Kuuga, Hibiki and Den-O most likely would not go well in being adapted. Though out of those 3 Kuuga would still stand a better chance. Yes, Den-O has the Rider suit limit mentioned a second ago but it's just too campy and comical for an older teen series. It's more Power Rangery than any other Kamen Rider series. Kiva is a maybe. It would need some serious reworking but it could be done and possibly be made to be even better than it's original Japanese version. Same with Agito. Faiz and Blade would be very good bets when going to American adaption because you can easily alter their story and make it more American viable and understandable. Decade....I really don't know and I would rather not see it americanized. Double (W).....it may prove to be worth it if it's done correctly. Their biggest challenge would have to be Kabuto. Yes, it does involve space aliens but that series really makes it work. They would most likely have to rework the stage 1 transformation of the Cast On armor but after that the Cast Off thing can easily be kept on. Americanizing the Clock Up speed with American footage is possible. The only real big problem is having enough actors as Kabuto probably has one of the longest Rider casts of any Heisei Rider series next to Decade, Ryuki and Hibiki. That's a lot of money for each actor and not to mention budget constraints. But I do believe Kabuto, along with Blade and Faiz, would be the best bets for American Adaption. Bobby Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Kuuga & Agito had a great deal more violence & monster impalement than any other Rider series. Though Agito is one of my favorite Riders, I just don't see anyway around a lot of the stuff. Behold: Kamen Rider Chronos!!!! This is something my second-in-command at Kamen Rider Rev Up has been working on. The Masked Rider This is an adaptation of Double done by a member of KRRU. Quote
odin Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 @ toku warrior, well they could always use original fight scenes along with the story to make an adaptation of their japanese counterparts, they clearly have the suits so i think making it all from scratch would not be a bad idea or they could do what saban did in MMPR and ask for the original creators to make exclusive scenes for the american show if they run out of stock footage or dont have the footage needed for a specific scene to work, lots of things could be done but i cant comment much since i have not seen any other Kamen Rider aside from Dragon Knight. Toku Warrior Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Yes, that is true. But you are forgetting the one most important thing. Money! It makes the world go 'round and a group, like Adness, won't have as big a budget like Power Rangers does. This means their shooting sites, amount of equipment, props, suit costs, special effects, cgi, actors/actresses, and special made footage would cost money. If the budget is low then that means they'd have to cut back on a lot of this stuff. Just like they had to with shows like Kamen Rider Dragon Knight and movies like Guyver/Guyver Dark Hero. Quote
Bobby Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I've been trying to plan an Americanization of Kamen Rider Blade called Kamen Rider Spade. The other three Riders are called Kamen Rider Diamond, Kamen Rider Cardiac & Kamen Rider Club. Quote
