5 seconds for the megasmasher?

I'm not sure. But does it take 5 seconds for the megasmasher to fire?

Probably an accurate assumption, give or take a second... Also possibly depending on the armors current energy reserves.

All we do know is that when they open the chest plates to fire it, it does require a few seconds to fire.

The megasmasher is a particule accelerator of sorts, imo.

Guyver energy is used to power the accelerator mechanism (megasmasher) to draw in and accelerate atmospheric/molecular particles. Once the charge is at a certain speed/mass, it's released in the form of the megablast/heatblast.

I would say theres a minimum capacity required before a discharge and it takes slightly longer for a full capacity discharge as it's been shown a few times in the magna/anime.
