That's because it's meant to be... This is a character created by Mattel and has had CG cartoon series, Comics, Toy line, etc. over the years.

The Live Action movie is based on the rebooted version from 2013 that is quite a bit different from the original version from back in 2000... but also similar... and of course it's target audience is kids who would then go out and buy the action figures...

Oh guys, imagine a Guyver movie using effects on this level, played completely straight... with no cheese at all.

I dream of such a world.

Wasn't this a cartoon at some point or something, I can't remember.

Anyway. Looks surprisingly good. Animation and effects are on par for the series, but of course you got all that chessy dialogue and romance thrown in. Not sure if that blonde is his girlfriend or whatever but you just know she's going to get kidnapped at some point and he'll have to save her. Happens literally in every hero-type film. :rolleyes:

Plus it's for a younger audience anyway, so no thank you lol.
