Aether Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) Oops, I derailed topic again. Sorry, I just didn't want to make new topic for every single question I can come up with. Roddder im sure i speak on behalf of people that you should feel free to start a new topic...youre enquiry was valid and was off topic so why not start a new one?? well seeing as ive nothing better to do (lie) i'll start one and use the quotes from here so you can continue the discussion if anyone is bothered (im sure there is a slicker way of doing this- but i dont know it ) new topic @ http://www.japan-legend.com/forum/index.php/topic/4945-differing-guyver-release-ratios-live-action-films/ Edited June 29, 2010 by Eether Quote

.:P:. Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Thanx!!! are there some custom figures in there?? like in the 2nd pic - is that aptom with his face showing- i cant recall seeing that before? It's a recast (pretty rare indeed), but it's taken from the max factory gk, look here on the right of the SD team: http://japan-legend.com/guyver_advocacy/vdf/qdig-files/converted-images/med_vdf-070.jpg By the way i have custom models in my collection, for example this one (work in progrss): ps; youre name comes out as .:. when i copied and pasted it Nice to know that... Quote
Aether Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) ah i see, i didnt recall it at the time... so you like to customize? making a closed unit remover?? can i see a dr.Balcus head aswell?? its funny, you would think all the effort max factory go to with the figures that they would make a working (opening/closing) weapon for the figure... well, at least its given you something to work on i have dabbled in customizing stuff but nothing major, or very complicated... the thought passed my mind to try n make guyver 1 into guyver 2F, but its just a silly idea, the body shape is way too different. it might be possible if you totally destroyed the figure and took the armour off n put it on a different frame i suppose, but it would be a lot of work... i just really hope max factory 1.plan to release more guyver figures 2. make a guyver 2f 3. bring guyver 2f out next! it would be cool. *Jess♥ Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 i used to have the aptom recast thing. actually, It was aptom and elegen in one kit. I didn't make the aptom version, I made the elegen instead. oh and if you want to make custom figures, I have a broken guyver 2 figure that i wouldn't mind letting go of for a reasonable cost. the break is in the knee. the joint got stressed and snapped. .:P:. Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 so you like to customize? making a closed unit remover?? can i see a dr.Balcus head aswell?? Yes! Yes!! Yes!! A female Guyver 2 (non posable...) model is in my plans, but i have to complete the remover, Balcus, a couple zoanoids, a Cronos labs diorama and a chrysalis before starting works on that... oh and if you want to make custom figures, I have a broken guyver 2 figure that i wouldn't mind letting go of for a reasonable cost... Thanx Ryuki but i make my models from the beginning to the end and don't use already existing models... Quote

Primex Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 omg Primex. Where I live I was lucky to find like 7 or 8 manga issues 15 years ago. Jealous. Thank you Symbol. I have been working on this collection for a good long while. The Japanese manga came from online, I think I bought them five at a time and now I am up to where I can get the new books when they come out. I just got the English Singapore Guyver books. The Viz English volumes I believe I got them a while back from an online comic shop. I also have the individual comic book versions that Viz put out as well. The only things I was able to really get locally were the DVD's. I have some more Guyver related items coming and I will try and put some pics of them up as well. Quote
Primex Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Okay here are my new Guyver books. Guyver manga 1-15 Tokukan Shoten. Something I thought I would never be able to get. The 3 Guyver novels. Also something I thought I would never be able to get. Quote

I will get you those pictures an dates though. Give me a little time to check out that scanner. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 awesome thanks. btw, I have the same problem. windows 7 and scanners, pain in the backside. a program called vuescan will solve any issues though. it supports most scanners. the trial version puts a watermark on images but i can edit those out. if you scan once the right way up and again upside down. oh and yeah, aside from the scanning thing, the larger picture for volume 2 is just so i can read the subtitle and translate it. The volume 1 novel release date is listed as 1995-12-20. The volume 2 novel release date is listed as 1996-4-30. I don't think this image took too well, I think it's my camera because I took three and they all look the same. Let me know if you can make anything out of this picture. If not I may try again later. *Jess♥ Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 thanks for the dates, I can't really read the kanji in that image. it's ok for now, I know how awkward cameras can be with things like this. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're able to do some scanning. Quote
Guest DarkOblivion Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I'm amazed people are not only able to find these rare books in the first place, but that they're still in their original wrapping too! You must have to pay a hefty sum for it in that condition. Quote

I didn't pay a whole lot for the Shonen Captain manga editions and I don't think I paid to high a price for the novels but the shipping from japan was what cost the most. Quote

Then I tried hooking up a Lexmark all in one deal and used the vuescan software, still no luck it would barely scan any of the book so it looks like I am out of luck on having a working scanner. I really wanted to help you out with this too. I'm so sorry. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 no need to apologise, I really appreciate all the effort you have gone to. we've been without images for those volumes for ever anyway so it's actually a leap up if i use your photograph and crop the image for each book. Quote
