Sci-Fi book recommendations

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend any really good science fiction novels they've read? I currently have:

Dune

Dune Messiah

Children of Dune

God Emperor of Dune

A Fire Upon the Deep

A Deepness in the Sky

Singularity Sky

Iron Sunrise

Rainbows End

Accelarando

Vacuum Diagrams

Ring

Excession

Childhood's End

The Peace War

Marooned in Realtime

Prey

I really recommend A Fire Upon the Deep and a Deepness in the Sky both by Vernor Vinge.

Hmm, those do appear to be very interesting sci-fi stories.

I've read many similar stories though most of their titles escape me.

Let's see there was the about 14 book series of "The Ship Who Sang"

Most of Isaac Asimov's books were pretty good.

Stephen King's seven-volume Dark Tower series was interesting.

I hear the The Wheel of Time series is worth a read.

Neuromancer, is an okay classic.

Can't remember anymore at the moment. . .

Good sifi books huh... well The Robotech and Battletech books rule, but to get both you have to go used, but you can get the newest battletech books though there called mechwarrior. And if your willing to do a little work I would seriously recommend Micheal A. Stackpole's Blood of Kernskey(sp?) trilogy sorry for the not so sure spelling but I'm at my sisters place watching her kid so I just can't look at the book its self.

Hmm

Sci Fi Books I recommend are

The Serrano Legacy by Elizabeth Moon was quiet good

the Odessey books by Athur C. Clarke were pretty good

Nimisha's Ship by Anne McCaffery I thought was alright considering I'm not a big fan of her stories >>;

Fantasy I recommend are

Any book by David Eddings

The Inheritence Trilogy by Chris Paolini (I think is his name)

Action/Thriller/Adventure Novels I recommend are

Ice Station

Area 7

Scarecrow

Seven Ancient Wonders

Hover Car Racer

Contest and

Temple, all of which are by the same Author, Micheal Rilley

the Nicolas Linear novels by Eric Lustbader

Zero by Eric Lustbader

the Bourne Books by Robert Ludlum

and finally

Any Clive Cussler Novel

All these books are great ^_^

I just started reading Neal Stepheson's Snow Crash, and I have to say that Raven is one of the craziest villains in any book I've read in a while. He took out the crew of a Russian nuke sub with a sharpened piece of plate glass! I definitely recommend this book.

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, and the rest of the series.

Award winning series. I've personally read it and loved it.

Now let's see...

For sci-fi:

The Aliens series

(as Largo stated) The Classic Battletech and Mechwarrior: Dark Age

Fantasy:

Magic the Gathering (Kamigawa trilogy was really good)(japanese base)

Hellboy series

Devil May Cry

Manga Sci-fi:

Trigun

Eureka 7

Manga Fantasy:

Petshop of Horrors

Mar

Dot Hack

Ragnarok (they didn't/haven't finished the series)

Archlord

Manga Action:

Fullmetal Alchemist

Bleach

Devil May Cry 3
