Report: Next Generation PSP Coming in 2007

Apparently according to PSM the next version of the PSP will be 1/4 thinner, have slot loading UMD, have 4 to 8 Gigs of build in NAND memory up from the present 32 MB, have a built in eyetoy camera where the PSP logo is now just below the screen, and maybe a second analog stick.

The increased internal memory is to help facilitate the move to online gaming, with the option to download games. The internal camera should also allow limited video conferencing.

The unit will also offer integration with the PS3.

All to come out sometime next year.

In the meantime we can look forward to 2 new peripherals this holiday season. One will be an attachable webcam style add-on, possibly for eyetoy type gaming. The other will be a GPS, providing both navigation and will be integrated into some games for extra functionality. Both will plug right on top of the PSP.

Oh, before I forget, a new game is also slated for early next year. . .

Silent Hill: Origins

Unsure yet, though it's assumed it will be for the same price as the original.

Hopefully there will be more than just a memory upgrade.

Sony's going to have enough problems selling the PS3 for $600!!!

Microsoft will compete by selling a updated version of the 360 with HD-DVD internal rather than an external upgrade about that time.

So it's just a slim version like how they did with the PS2 but with some added upgrades?

I hope they fix the joy stick problem. That's usually the first thing to break.
